Victorian Walnut Marble Top Washstand circa 1870's
I am pleased to offer for sale a Solid Walnut Victorian Marble Top Washstand circa 1870's. This one drawer over two door washstand features tear drop pulls on raised burl walnut panels and a beautifully carved center key escutcheon. The inset panels of the doors also offer raised burl panels. On each side of the doors are two narrow vertical panels divided by a small rosette. Inside is a shelf which offers wonderful storage opportunities. The bottom does lock and we do have the key. The drawer lock does no work. The white and grey serpentine shaped marble is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. The back splash is still there but the candle holders are gone. The holes have been covered by rosettes which is shown in the pictures. This piece measures 34 3/4 inches high, 32 inches wide and 17inches deep. The weight is approximately ... more50 lbs. Marble Top Carved Walnut French Bedside Chest or Nightstand. Hand crafted in France about 1890. A marble top solid walnut bedside chest or nightstand has four drawers plus a marble lined compartment. The marble top has a repair at one corner and has been polished and sealed to resist stains. A deep finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its glowing patina. Drawers have hand cut dovetails on this understated antique furniture from France. Pair of Vintage mid 1800's Marble Top Walnut Nightstands or End Tables
I am selling my pair of circa mid 19 th century end night stands. I will give as much information as I can think of or figure out. We originally purchased these beautiful end tables at an antique shop in Long Island for more than the buy it now price. We are moving and do not have the room in our new home. So they must go. They appear to be pre 1860 due to the dovetail work. The hand hewn boards in the bottom of the drawer, and no evident circular saw marks. Also, by recollection these are definitely European, most likely of French or English manufacture. They feature what appears to be a high quality walnut veneer with some detailed straight line darker veneer accents. They have a really nice pull out writing board above the top drawer. There is a crack in each of the writing boards due to the age of these pieces. They have the original ... moremarble tops on them. However one of the tops are lightly stained(this can probably be removed) and has a chip taken out of one of the rear corners. Inside the bottom cabinet door is a very nice ceramic insert. The end tables still retain what appears to be their original hardware. Overall for the age of these pieces. They are in very good condition. The veneer on the fronts is near perfect. The veneer on the sides has very very minor imperfections and some small spots which can most likely be removed(we never tried) The veneer looks red in some of the pictures for some reason, but they do not look red in person. The backs of the night stands are finished in veneer as well, but due to being up against walls and such, there are some deeper scratches in the back. But I would be willing to drive a couple of hours to meet a long distance buyer.

This fine 19th century stand features its original marble top with cookie corners at the front. A small storage drawer with early hand-cut dovetailed ends and a storage cabinet below that locks with the casters intact on the base.
