Here is a Beautiful Early Hepplewhite Style Crotch Mahogany Inlaid Side Table. This table comes from the 19th century and is a little rough with a brace on the bottom to hold the table together and a few scratches on the surface. But the Mahogany is absolutely beautiful along with the inlaid light wood along the skirts and legs. It is darkened around the shaped edges of the table to look almost black. It measures 26" long by 16" wide and is about 18 1/2" tall. It is in original patina and should remain that way letting the original style show through along with the character of the crotch mahogany wood. Antique Mid 1800s English Solid SATINWOOD Inlaid Marquetry Night Stand Table
This is an antique nightstand that is made of solid wood and appears to be satinwood. The stand has a drawer that is hand dovetailed in the front and the back. The dovedails are very fine and have an inscribed mark remaining from when the craftsman originally laid out his work. There is a finely inlaid checkered accent around the drawer front as well as the front of the legs. There is also an inlaid design in the center of the front door. The stand is topped with a piece of marble that measures 14" x 14-1/2" The marble is not cracked or chipped. But does show wear consistent with age. The stand measures 33-3/4" tall x 15-1/2" wide 14-3/4" deep. All of the wood is solid on the piece- there is no laminated wood or plywood. The screws in the brass hardware appear to be machine made and I estimate that the piece dates ... moreto the mid 1800's and was made in England. The piece overall is in excellent condition for its age. There is minimal wear consistent with age and some age cracks in the wood. The joints are tight and there do not appear to be any repairs to the piece. The back piece of wood on the stand does have a large crack as seen in the photos. As seen in my pictures. It was imported by Thonet Bros. of New York. Fascinating Austrian gent who was commissioned by a famous architect in the 1800s to redo the Baroque Palace in Vienna. At that time. Which was around 1850s, Thonet had stores in Chicago, New York and abroad. He imported fine furniture, both that he made and purchased abroad to send to N.Y. City, the heart of wealth during the Victorian era. Please see the sticker that was found under the marble top. Size of this table is 31" high. 28 1/4" wide and 14" deep. The marble top was made about 3/4" to overhang. There are no big cracks or pieces ... moremissing from the rose colored marble. Some wear and a small chip on the back edge that cannot be seen, but have to mention. Remember this table is very old. You will see pictures of the construction of joints. One joint was repaired a very long time ago and there is a small gap on the top different from the left front joint.HOWEVER.SOLID AND STURDY and does not take away from the structural or aesthetic integrity. Just leave it alone. The original locks are intact also. EXQUISITE MARQUETRY AND BORDERS. This is what Thonet was known for and commissioned for. In the Royal Baroque Palace. A top marble, and one drawer. It also has a cabinet which interior is wrapped in marble, presumably used as a tobacco storage or chamber pot holder. It presents some minors woodworm already treated. Up for auction is this amazing estate find Octagonal Barley Twist table. Circa 1800's with a cane/rattan top. I can't be sure whether it is oak. Walnut or mahogany, French or American? The table stands 29" tall and 26" wide. There is a small hole in the cane as you can see(I believe it can be repaired) The table is showing slight signs of age and wear but it is in very good condition and very solid. It stands very level and secure. There is no wobble or lean whatsoever. It looks like it belongs in a castle or museum. I am starting the bidding out at 799.00. Thanks and good luck.

This is a great little table which we've owned for many many years and we have recently downsized and redecorated in a contemporary style. It is a late 19th c. American Victorian piece and has VERY unusual details- all original. The little table stands 22" high and the top measures approx. 10 1/2" square. There are some light(minor) scratches on the top and it has a slight wobble if bumped but not enough to prevent you from putting your cup of tea or glass of wine and tv remote or magazine!
