This piece dates to the mid to late 19th century. we do not know the maker.This piece stands approximately 29 5/8" H x 17.75"D x 17.75" W. An elegant square pedestal base rises with a pedestal column to the base of the drawer bank. The base has bun feet with the original casters. This has two drawers that have their original brass key holes. We do no thave the key. Bu tthe drawers are unlocked. The drawers slide smoothly in and out. The top has a flame match book veneer that is absolutely stunning. Great Antique 1820-50s Birdseye Maple 1 Drawer Wash/ Night Stand Circa early 1800s solid birdseye maple 1 drawer wash/ night stand. Stand has a dovetailed backsplash 7"H with scrolled returns. Rounded drawer is also finely dovetailed with a chamfered bottom. Bottom shelf has a wondereful cutout front edge. Turned legs. Measures 22-1/4"W x 35-1/2"H x 17-1/2"D Condition Excellent. Nice old mellow finish. The bottom shelf is loose from the stand and the photos show there was once a natural seam split and it was repaired with wood cleats. Also one cornor of the shelf also has a small wood cleat. The stretcher the shelf sits on has some age cracks. see photo) but is still solid. A very fine antique late 19th century French Louis XVI country stand. The woods are probably maple and mahogany. With simple parquetry and string inlay. Original brass pulls. Measures 30-1/2" tall by 17" wide by 12-3/4" deep. Very good plus condition: original finish, some shrinkage craks on sides, minor bent to a brass pull.
