This is a vintage USGS 1936 topographic map reprinted from a 1911 edition. Of the Ellsworth Quadrangle of Hancock, County, Maine. It measures 16 1/2" x 20" It has been folded in quarters but was been pressed flat as much as possible. It has a bit of chipping on one edge and some markings, mostly on the right hand side and in form of numbers. The top edge is a bit wrinkled and there is a very small tear. Overall there is some age yellowing appropriate to its age, and the back side has a history of US topo maps plus a key to the symbols. It shows towns of Ellsworth, Surry, Hancock, Lamoine, No 8 Plantation, Mariaville, Waltham, Eastbrook and Otis. It shows lakes, Union River and bays reaching in from the coast. Overall it is in good condition. A nice map to frame. It will be shipped rolled up. This is a vintage USGS topographical map of the Maine Bucksport Quadrangle.it is a reprint of a 1902 map done in 1936. Produced for the Department of the Interior. It measures approximately 16" x 20" and shows the Penobscot River along with towns of Hampden, Orrington, Winterport, Bucksport, Frankfort, Prospect, Verona and Searsport. The back side has a history lesson on the Topographical Maps of the United States along with a key of Standard Symbols and is dated 1928. The map is pretty decent shape for its age.it was folded in quarters and also along one edge and has been flattened out, though impossible to get the creases out entirely. It also has a bit of age yellowing and some small pin holes in the corners where it was pinned and has some age yellowing appropriate to its age. There is also some small writing in pen in the left ... morehand border which is interesting as it says, Mine on knoll(gold) 1/4 mile of N. End of Halfmoon Pond" It also has a stamp, Wright's 60 State St. Bangor, Me. in two places designating from where it was originally purchase most likely. This will shipped rolled up and protected. Here is a very good condition United States Geologic Survey 7 1/2 Minute Series Topographical MAP of the EAST DIXFIELD Quadrangle of the STATE OF MAINE. The map measures about 22 by 27 inches. And the image area is about 17 by 22 1/2 inches. It is the 1968 edition. It DOES HAVE the green overprint that shows forested areas. It shows most of the town of Dixfield. And small parts of Wilton, Carthage, Canton, Jay, and Washington Plantation. It also shows parts of the Androscoggin River, and Wilson Pond. This map is in very good condition. R1, 2& 3; Bingo; easterly portion of Talmage and Topsfield; southerly portion of Codyville; Keefe Camp; Simquish Brook; Tomah Stream, Lake and Mountains; etc. All these are located in Washington County and it shows the tiniest portion of the St. Croix River in Canada. Map shows wear and has been folded. Has a tiny rip in the bottom where it was folded and looks like it has some moisture damage in a couple places. Would look good on the wall of a camp. Map size is 17” by 21” It will be folded up and sent in a manilla envelope.
