As well as a piece that sits in the bottom drawer(see pictured photo) There is also a piece thats used to secure the hangers farther back that is pictured. The hinges are all working however need to be cleaned. The locks appear in very good condition. No keys. These trunks were the very best. Right at the top with Louis Vuitton, Goyard, M. M. Secor, etc. This trunk was one of Hartmann's top models of the time, costing close to $200.that's over $2500 in today's market. Only a well-to-do gentleman or lady would have owned something this expensive and of this quality. This particular trunk is a cushion-top model, and is also gibraltarized, patentened process in order to make the trunk frame very strong. This is all steel-frame construction. The trunk features a velvet cushioned top to protect clothing during travel. All original"unbreakable hangers" a garment bag for clothing worn, all hand riveted, and featered a patented locking mechanism that actually hooks so your trunk would never open in travel. From the hangers to the cloth lining, and cloth ties, this was made for an entire wardrobe to moved about without putting a wrinkle in any of your items. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. They were built with quality and built to last, which is why they have stood the test of time! The craftsmanship that went into the construction and design of theses ole’ trunks are truly nothing short of spectacular. I recently discovered this wardrobe trunk buried in the rafters in the attic of a local farm house estate in a in nearby town. It stopped me dead in tracks and I had to literally pick my jaw up off the floor! There was no way I was leaving without this trunk. And lucky for me I had hubby to carry it out of the attic and down 3 flits of stairs! And now for the decription… This is a nice authentic period Wardrobe steamer trunk. It is signed on the exterior by the maker Oshkosh Trunk Company. I am unsure of the exact age. But it was clearly left where I had found it for a very very long time. If I had to guestimate I would say it is likely from the early 20 th century. It measures 40 x 22 x 20 inches and weighs 75 pounds respectfully. Antique Hartmann steamer trunk wardrobe drawers cloth early 1900's
For your consideration is an antique steamer trunk. Dates to the late 1800 to early 1900's. There are stickers on the truck. Which I did not remove. Germany and Scotland. Has a wonderful cloth pattern on the outside similar to L. Vitton trunks. Features 4 drawers and a wardrobe area to hang cloths. The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips ... moreit has taken over the years. I know absolutely nothing about restoring a this gorgeous piece. I wish I did. I cannot answer much about it except the physical aspects. I was told by the individual that I got it from that it is from the 1800s. From my minimal research. That seems to be accurate and consistent. It comes with 5 hangers- only one is original- the others were made afterward- when and how old the others are. I don't know, but can tell you 4 of the 5 are not original. This is a vintage piece of luggage that is in used but good condition. It is an extremely rare find and rarer to find in this condition and with key. It is blue slim steamer trunk with blue leather trim and leather handles. The trunk opens up and locks in place to allow for clothes to hang from the hangers. The bottom area has dividers and ribbon ties to secure your items. Both sections have a cloth cover. The bottom has snaps to secure it to the bottom of one of the dividers. Built to withstand long voyages and hard travel. This vintage Wardrobe Steamer Trunk served as a portable closet for its owner, Mrs. Charles A. Trowbridge. Measuring 36" tall, 21" wide, and 12 1/2" deep, it has a tag which reads"Genuine Vulcanized Trunk Fibre Binding made by Taylor Fibre Co" The left compartment has 4 original hangers, the original matching presser bar, and a cloth snap closure for shoes. The right compartment has two lift out nesting drawers with original working leather tabs and sturdy handles. This Wardrobe Trunk has all of its original beautiful brass latches. Vintage Multnomah Wardrobe It's dusty and dirty but should clean up nicely! Great restoration project or use as is. Up for your consideration is a vintage Multnomah of Portland Oregon Traveler's wardrobe. The picture make it look dirtier than it really is. Very sturdy but one of the clasps is missing. T he Eagle lock is not seized but will need a key. I nside the brackets for the hangers are in g reat condition as is the retainer. C omes with 3 original hangers. T he nesting compartments are not split and the original leather hinges and clasps are in nice condition. In retaining clas p on the bottom one is split. Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Antique HTF!! VERY RARE!
This antique Hartmann Tourobe is still in great condition. However. Like all original Tourobe's from the turn of the century, there are some scuff marks, scratches and such on the exterior. Look closely at the destination it traveled. It was sent from a teacher in Germany to an officer in Brooklyn New York. What a distance! Inside still looks great and has the original hangers. 6 total hangers, four for suits and two for pants, internal straps are complete. The case has two sections divided by the hinges: 4 divided sections for folded clothing and miscellaneous items secured with adjustable fastening fabric straps. a hanging wardrobe on one side which has a cotton twill covered pad to protect the suits. which fastens with two sets of stud buttons holding the clothes in place. 2 of the 3 buttons are functional. I did not want to replace the fastener as it would change the piece from it's original state. It has all the original hardware with 5 wheels(4 on the bottom and 1 on the side) and 2 handles. The wheel on the side allows the trunk to open easily when it stands on one end. Antique HARTMANN Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Cushion Top No Reserve
You are bidding on an antique Hartmann brand wardrobe steamer trunk in amazing condition. It has almost all of its original accessories and hardware. Many hangers are included. Possibly more than originally equipped. Both the securing bar for the drawers and the securing bar for the clothes are present and original. It is very large measuring 40"x23"x25" It is also very heavy. This trunk has been in our family for so long that no one even remembers where it came from. Until recently, we could not open it because it was locked and we had no key. We had a key made for it and were amazed at how great it looked when we opened it up. There is no key for the securing bar for the drawers, but it is not seized and should work properly if a new key is made. It needs a new handle as it is missing. It should be a standard leather strap ... moretype for which reproductions are available and inexpensive. The only other thing I see that may be missing is a travel case that would lock into the hanger area. If you look at the drawers, you will see the Hartmann logo on the handles, and there is some of the original label left on the top. It has gold color interior with very nice trim. Some wear on the contact areas like the drawer slides, but overall, it looks hardly used. Based on its design, I would say that it is probably from the 1920s or 1930s. I was unable to confirm this, and base my guess on some old advertising I was researching. I welcome any information as to its time of manufacture. It measures 41-1/2 inches in height or length. 22-1/2 by 22-1/2 inches in width and depth. It is totally original. It is a light beige colored tweed, with a dark brown leather trim throughout. Inside(left side) there are 4 drawers with beautiful pull handles. On the opposite side is set up for your clothing with wooden hangers. It has the original curtain, clothes bag, and another small compartment in the bottom closed off by another curtain. Early 1900s Wardrobe Steamer Trunk - Complete - Great Condition!
This is an amazing early 1900s wardrobe steamer trunk. The exterior is black. And interior is a nice floral pattern. Fabric inside the drawers still has the wonderful blue and green shades in tact! Drawer fronts, ironing board, and hanging fabric have each faded to a pleasant neutral toned scheme. Comes complete with ironing board, iron holder at bottom with strap, adjustable bar to keep clothing in place, 3 drawers with original tie down ribbons in tact, bottom deep drawer with leather strap on one side, locking drawer bar with working lock and key, 8 various types of hangers, and a box for extra storage at the bottom of the hanging side of wardrobe. This wardrobe trunk is original. And has some scuffing on the outside and signs of wear on the inside. Hanging fabric is ripped at the top, as you can see in photos. This old wardrobe steamer trunk is from the 1920's era. It no doubt carried clothing. Documents, and treasures for fellows like Gatsby himself or a passenger on the Titanic. An original nail file was found tucked away in one of its drawers waiting to be found by generations later. The 8 drawers are linen lined. And I think the briefcase is as well. The top of the wardrobe area opens up to reveal a majestic deep purple velvet material. There is a lever behind the drawers that keeps the drawers from opening up during transportation. Here we have an incredible hunter green wardrobe trunk made by the Dread-Naught Luggage Company of Petersberg. Virginia around the 1930's. The interior has been completely recovered in a stunning ivory/ cream satin fabric. It has a locking mechanism for the drawers in addition to the exterior lock and the keys are included for both. The exterior has the wear and tear you would expect for its age and the leather handle is worn and torn as well, all of which add to its antique character. The top latch is off, but we have it; someone who is handy could probably easily re-attach it. The lower latch and lock keep it securely closed without it. This trunk is in very good condition for as old as it is, comes with original iron board, 10 wooden hangers, removable smaller case, black with brass accents, the felt on the flip top has some splits, the locks on the trunk are working, the keys for the outside of the trunk and for the bar that secures the drawers in place have been re-made by a locksmith. I have a very nice vintage steamer trunk wardrobe. This has been used so there are a few things that would need fixed if it were ti be made perfect. I tried to take as many pics as possible to show you the trunk. It is beautiful and will make a great addition to your home or collection. I cannot locate keys. The handle is missing on the bottom and is attached to just one side in top. The other side will pull out and is not attached. Some minor water damage but nothing that destroys the integrity or durability. The bottom of trunk shows some wear from travel. Dark green and black with name in white lettering. Charming old wardrobe trunk available to add to your collection of antiques! Since it is super heavy. Local Pickup only. UPDATE! We are willing to negotiate delivery within approximately 75 miles of our home! What's so cool about this wardrobe trunk is that it has features that so many of the other wardrobes you see don't have or they're missing! Also. It was restored approximately 20 years ago and is still in good condition. You may want to repaint or reline the trunk to make it your own, but you don't have to worry about a bunch of repairs because they were already done. For example, the metal trim was not brass and so it was painted. It could easily be repainted to suit your needs. As for the unique, original features, the trunk includes: a wooden ironing board, metal bracket for iron, a pull out holder for the ironing ... moreboard, 6 wooden hangers- one of which holds a cloth laundry bag, a removeable wooden box(holds shoes.lap desk? and 4 drawers- among other features. It's missing the outside lock and original leather handle(handle was replaced with a strong leather buckled handle) The key to the inside lock, the narrow flat bar that slides in front of the drawers, and some material behind the drawers. Some of the material is faded. The hinges and drawer pulls are secure and in functional condition except one outside latch(this doesn't prevent the trunk from closing tightly. The metal rods that hold the hangers extend out to hold the ironing board and are easy to slide in/out. All the drawers are lined with material and are in good/clean condition. The top drawer is divided into three compartments and is in good condition. The two middle drawers are in good condition too. The bottom drawer is deep and has a shallow pull out tray which exposes a cool feature. The feature is a sphere shaped cloth form that straps to the side of the drawer with leather. The original leather is still in place and functional. But somewhat brittle. My guess is that a hat could be pinned to the form to keep it saf

This trunk is in good condition and exhibits the normal signs of wear a trunk would acquire through travel(See pics of travel stickers one reads PARIS) use and it's age. There are no keys. The latch seems to still be locked. But the trunk opens. The trunk measures about 40H" by 24W" by 41" Across when opened. And 40.5" long. There is some tarnishing of the tacks, and discoloration of the leather strip around a few tacks on the base only. We assume it was stored standing up on the base. It has on the leather handle some indentions of words but all I can make out is R-407. The lock has Everlasting lock D63 but the lock is broke which could be replaced. I guess it wasn't everlasting. Vintage or Antique Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Travel Steamer Trunk Suitcase
This is an antique or vintage Hartmann Tourobe made in Racine WI travel wardrobe trunk. Trunk measures about 35" x 20" x 12" This has been used. There are surface scratch/rub marks on the outside of the trunk, the leather handle is broken off, the closures work but there is not a key to lock them. Trunk is has markings on the end that say Lt. Comdr. Johnstone MCVS U.S.N.R. on the end and a sticker that says Gibalterized. The Hartmann Tourobe Racine Wi sticker is intact. There are travel stickers attached to the outside and a tag that says Railway Express, Inc. War Won't Wait, if that helps to date it. This outside is black with metal, and not sure what the main material is, maybe a pressed wood. The inside is blue with 3 compartments on the fold down side, 2 of the compartments have cloth ties, the top cloth part folds ... moreover and snaps at the end, snap pieces are intact. The other side has 2 wood hangers and the metal pieces that hold the hangers fold in to hold the hangers and can be folded out when the trunk is opened. There are some water marks on the cloth cover of the fold out part and a musty smell to the inside of the trunk. The red stripes on the outside of the trunk do have rub marks.

This old trunk is a beautiful example of the Louis Vuitton monogram pattern trunks made since 1896 in Paris. A real classic! This is a wardrobe style trunk that was designed to hold hanging clothes. When stood upright and opened in the center this would be like a personal closet and the clothes rod pulls out to allow easy access to the hanging clothes. This trunk has the original marked wood hangers. The exterior LV monogrammed covering is in excellent condition with only minimal signs of wear.Even the large leather handle is in good condition. This was a high-grade trunk with all brass hardware. Including many brass rivets all marked with the Louis Vuitton name. The demensions of the trunk are 36 x 22 x 12.

Stands about 42 tall x 26 x 23 inches. It has a last patent date of 1923. It has six drawers. One drawer has an iron holder insert and there is also an original large pin cushion that came with this trunk. Each drawer is unique with various partitions and tie downs. There are telescoping rods for the many various original hangers. There is also a removable latching box. Pretty clean inside with very light wear. The top leather handle is broke. Some minor scuffs, scratches, paint drops present. No holes or big dents. The key lock looks as if it was pried open, but it still latches the trunk shut when rotated. This auction is for a beautiful antique wardrobe steamer trunk made by the National Vulcanized Fibre Company. The construction of these trunks bearing the indian-head label date back to the late 1800s into the early 1900s. This particular piece has been stored in my moms attic since she and my dad purchased their house in 1965 from an old couple who had lived in the home since i was built in 1924. I'm estimating the age of this trunk to be anywhere between 90 and 100 years old. As seen in the pictures the trunk had been only slightly used and does not show any signs of travel use. It shows signs of oxidation on the metal parts and slightly on the vulcanized material. The leather handle has not worn out and is still in good condition bearing the number 524-22. Vintage Steamer Wardrobe Trunk Excelsior Lock Early 1900's Original w/ Hangers
For Sale is a Wonderful Vintage Wardrobe Trunk from the Early 1900's. It is all original. There are 3 drawers on the right hand side to hold folded clothes. The left side is for hanging clothes. Included are 4 original wood hangers. 2 can hold pants plus a top/jacket/shirt/blouse/etc. and 2 are just for tops/shirts/dresses etc. There is also an adjustable bar that helps hold in the hanging clothes. Everything is original from the floral interior to the hardware and two leather handles. There is no key but keys are still available and can be purchased on the web. The lock is an Excelsior brand which dates the trunk to the early 1900's. Stamped on the lock is"USA. Excelsior Stanford, Conn#5987. The lock was loosened from one side of the trunk to allow it to be opened by a previous owner. It is, however, all there. The latches work ... moreand hold the trunk closed. One is a little hard to open. I sometimes use a screw driver to pop it open. This trunk stands 36 1/2 inches tall. Is 22 inches deep and 14 inches wide. The exterior is a forest green color with black trim on the corners and white pin stripes. The floral interior is green and peach colored. It does show signs of use. There is some staining on the drawers, and the hardware, probably brass plated, has age discoloration and/or oxidation. Kind of gives it character. There are many uses for trunks like this from being a guest room dresser to a coffee table. It could be refurbished or enjoyed as it is. The pictures show what you are bidding on.
