Rare form carved quartered oak barrister bookcase with desk leaded glass-14489
This is a great carved quartered oak barrister bookcase. Sometimes called a lawyers bookcase or stacking bookcase. This outstanding stacking desk bookcase is one of the nicest we have ever seen. It has leaded glass windows in the top two sections below the molded top. The carved fall board has a key that opens or locks the desk section. Inside are two strong desk lid supports and a nice set of pigeon holes with a single pencil drawer-fitted interior. The desk section sits above two full width drawers. The top drawer is shaped to fit the curve. The second drawer is carved to accent the fall board. Both drawers have original brass handles. The lowest section is an extra tall one with a"blind" door or wood paneled door to prevent breakage from feet. The entire piece sits on a molded base section. Hammered copper pulls with locking doors. These pulls are patterned from the original designs of Gustav and Leopold Stickley. Rare, Antique Shaw Walker Barrister Bookcase, glass front, 3 piece Pick up NJ
Rare. Highly collectible Antique Barrister bookcase from the reputable Shaw Walker company. Stackable 3 piece, glass fronts. I am not sure of the type of wood, either cherry or mahogany- this piece is from the early 1900's- it has been well preserved and taken care of. The front and sides have been painted with a black Ethan Allen paint to match the other furniture we have- the inside of each unit and the back has not been painted. The measurements are about 49 1/2 inches tall(stacked with the 3 pieces) 34 inches width, and the depth is 11 1/2 inches. The top has a small scratch in the paint that measures a few inches, but the wood is not scratched as far as I can see. Rare antique Lundstrom barrister bookcase. This is a five piece stacking set with glass fronts. There is a base three graduating sections and a top with a small gallery edge. The unusual. Hard to find, narrow size of this great bookcase is what makes it so desirable. While most of these bookcases measure on average 34" wide; this one is a sweet size of 25 1/4" wide. It is made of solid oak, not veneers, with glass paned door fronts. Each section is stamped by the maker and the top piece still retains the original tag. There is some discoloration on the top(see photos) All doors are working properly. Measures 45 3/4" tall, 25 1/4" wide and 13 1/2" deep.

RARE 3/4 width(25" Globe-Wernicke top in solid Maple(style 598 1/2) In great shape considering it is 100+ years old. Original finish w/original tag. This is a size"D" depth top. Little dusty and could benefit from some light cleaning. There are scratches consistent with age and there appears to be some uneven aging to the stain on the top(as if there were books placed on the top and not moved for years. Exposing some of the top to sun and other parts not so much) You should be able to see this in the pictures. No water, mold damage. I also have the corresponding base for auction as well. Folks. After ten years since snagging a WALNUT Danner Revolving 4 tier bookcase, we FINALLY got one and sold it lickity split! Well. Incredibly we just got an identical piece(Solid Walnut) but this one was redone in a"fumed oak" finish to match most Stickley. Limbert and other Mission Oak treasures. The Danner stenciled signature was stripped in the process. The brass grommets were replaced with round headed brass screws that increasesd the sturdiness of this Danner revolving bookcase. Overall dimensions are 20" x 20" and 56" high. The 3 upper shelf bookcase sections measure 10 1/4" high. 10" wide and 7" deep. The sections of the lower level measure 12" high, 10- wide and 7"deep. A true antique. Authentic and original condition Lawyer's“Elastic” Sectional/ Modular) Bookcase with the earliest company gold labels attached inside each section. And with door"equalizers" which later versions did not have. Made by Globe-Wernicke Co, Cincinnati, OH in extremely rare mahogany, which was the company's most expensive grade. Remarkable, beautiful condition for being over 100 years old. All glass is original too, except for the bottom door. Never refinished or in any other way modified. This has been in my family since it was purchased new by my great-grandparents. Specs: 1. Early gold label version. Dating it to 1899-1910. H as“equalizers” on each door. Which are folding metal spring rods to keep the doors from pulling off and to allow them to swing upward and slide into each section, getting the doors out ... moreof the way. The presence of the equalizers also shows that this is one of the first units made. 2. Four bookcase sections with doors: three are size D-8½. One is size D-10¼. The numbers are the interior height dimensions. Separate waterfall cap and base sections. 3. Marked Grade 598½. Which shows that it's mahogany in what the company called a“dead” finish(dull brush finish) medium dark stain. 4. Brass hardware. 5. Waterfall(rolltop) ogee cap section. Located in Nashville. TN. Here is a very early and RARE Tiger Oak Danner Revolving Bookcase in the'Fumed Oak' finish that was used very often in the Arts and Crafts(Stickley Era) by most makers of Mission Oak furniture. The Paine Furniture(established in 1835) company sold Danner bookcases of this type in the 1880' with the wider slats and decorative hobnails. There are a few"scars of time" that only add authenticity and charm to this treasure. Overall measurements are 26" square and 58" high. There are four levels with 16 bookcase sections. All measuring 16" wide, 7" deep and 11" high. The stenciled"Danner Trade Mark" is seen on a top level section. The tiger oak used is top of the line! Wonderful Mission Arts& Crafts Style Bookcase! Cabinet is quarter sawn white oak with a warm patina finish. Shelves and back are straight grain white oak. This custom bookcase has through tenons and pegging. Pegging on the four corners of the door and on the bookcase itself. One small hammered copper pull. Not two as in the picture. This pull is patterned from the original designs of Gustav and Leopold Stickley. This is the same cast copper hardware that has been re-issued by the Stickley Company. Pull duplicates the hand-hammered texture of the originals and are finished to a warm. Glowing patina. Screws are new old stock all flat blade and no zinc coating. Rare Antique Weis Barrister Bookcase With Fold Out Desk And Drawers
Up for sale is this antique Weis Slide Door barrister style bookcase. With 2 bookcase sections, 2 drawer sections, a fold out desk section, along with the top and base. This will require refinishing as it shows quite a bit of wear. I can't quite figure out how the wear to the sides was caused, it looked like moisture damage, but there is no lift or softness in those areas and the white is actually paint, so the best I can figure is that those spots may have been up against a radiator, hard to say for sure. It is also missing one set of the glass sliding doors. It measures about 56 1/4" tall, 34 1/8" across, and 10 7/8" deep, the base is 12 1/4" deep. Due to how the lips overlap and join together, I believe this piece will only stack as shown. Local pick up. Or perhaps delivery within a couple hundred miles can be worked ... moreout for a fee.

Trademark and patent lawsuits were then filed against Macey-Wernicke by Globe-Wernicke, resulting in an injunction that forced Macey-Wernicke to change its name to the Macey Company in 1906. GW eventually lost its patent lawsuits against Macey. GW went bankrupt following the stock market crash of 1929. It emerged from receivership in 1934. And in 1951 created the Techniplan, the forerunner of the modern office cubicle. In 1963, Globe Wernicke bought the Weis Manufacturing Company and changed its name to Globe-Weis Systems. In 1973 it became Sheller-Globe after a merger, which was purchased by ATAPCO in 1987, which later became part of Cardinal Brands, Inc. and today exists as the Globe-Weis brand within TOPS Products, part of R.R. Donnelly and Sons Company. Globe-Wernicke was making bookcases for sale to the government at least as late as 1964. This is an absolutely fantastic treasure! Made by Gunn. It features quartersawn oak, all original wavy glass in the doors and breaks down into 22 individual pieces. Two of the back pieces are replacements, a piece of trim needs to be repaired as pictured, and there is some moisture damage from where we had it sitting on the concrete pad in our garage. These were the'Bentley' of the bookcases made. All original stack here that was not assembled and was purchased as you see in the pictures. The condition is really fantastic.
