Stunning Fine Mason's Ironstone Large Square Covered Jar or Potpourri circa 1830- 1848 ~ Samurai Figures and Japanese Motifs ~ Aquamarine Transfer Printed Ground ~ 6 1/2" high ~ about 5 3/8" across the top ~ weighs 2 lb. 12 oz. A Mason's Ironstone potpourri box with a lid; this possibly had another pierced triangular cover or was meant as a covered box as part of a garniture of potpourris. It has Japanese Samurai figures and still life paintings with vases. Flowers and fish on the sides. The shoulder and sides have raised scroll decoration painted brick red over the bright turquoise ground. It sits on four realistically molded lion's heads with large paws. In excellent condition with no chips cracks or repairs and the gilding is in very good condition. In pic below. There is one tiny spot in the turquoise ground that ... morehas flaked off but not very noticeable. The decoration in the side panels are done with fine transfers that are hand painted in enamels with gilded details. The four lion head and paw feet are colored bright orange with fine gilded details to the faces etc. Above: the right corner of the lid has a yellowish coloring although I don't believe it is a repair as it doesn't glow under ultraviolet light. I think probably something in the final glaze and not that noticeable. Below: this angular shaped crown was used between 1830 and 1848. Notice that none of the legs are re-attached or damaged. Up for auction is an American Painted Porcelain Art Pottery. Lemon Server Plate-Dish with an Art Nouveau Era Hand Painted(Handcrafted) Floral Pattern on a Plate Manufacturerd in the Kingdom of Bavaria(1806 to 1918 and Now a German State) by an Unidentified American Porcelain Artist for a Porcelain Decorating Studio Company or Firm which goes by the Initials of B.M.S. within a Hand Painted Triangular Mark) in Overall"Excellent" Used Condition from Circa 1891 to 1918. I want to begin by stating several things a person should know about antique hand painted porcelain ware. From around 1875 to 1935 painting porcelain was the biggest hobby there was in the United States. Painting porcelain was done by individuals. Professional decorating firms and porcelain manufacturer decorating departments. Of course this means you had both amateur ... moreand professional hand painted porcelain products. It's also a fact that for many years blank porcelain items to paint were less expensive via the import market versus acquiring it from our own American porcelain factories. Because porcelain artists painted china from Europe and Far East Asia a very large percentage of antique hand painted porcelain was done here on china from overeas. It's a common mistake that much of this antique hand painted porcelain is sold as being painted in the country which is on the backstamp. In 1891 the United States put into law the McKinley Tariff Act which in part required all products exported into the United States to have the country of origin on it. This plate states Bavaria which was its own kingdom from 1806 to 1918. Then it became a state of Germany as a result of World War One. Therefore it does have the Bavaria mark as required by U.S. law. This alone dates the plate as a product manufactured between 1891 and 1918. A post 1918 plate might state Bavaria, but the word"Germany" would be included and after World War Two until 1991"West Germany" The decoratve pattern is definitely Art Nouveau era by it's style

Early Davenport Staffordshire Cup and Saucer Cobalt Blue Yellow Gold
This lovely o ld Davenport cup and sauce r is decorated in cobalt blue. Yellow, beautiful hand painted flowers and trimmed in gol d. I believe it d a tes from the early 1800s. The cup measures approximately 2 3/4 inches high an d 3 inches in diameter. The saucer measures approximately 5 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 1/4 inches deep. Both the cup and saucer are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some normal wear to the center of the saucer(see photos)

This lovely pair of high-top Victorian shoes stands 2-3/8" tall x 2-1/8" wide at the top where it flares out. It is 2-3/4" deep- from toes to heels. Notice the back has a built-in. Porcelain, wash-board striker in bisque finish(no glossy glaze in this area) The decorative details are hand-painted with gold gilt accents within the embossed flowers on the toes. Notice the embossed tassels hanging from the ... morefront of each shoe. There is also a tiny red-painted detail on the outside of each shoe. No manufacturers markings, but I suspect it is German-made. There is, however, a number inscribed into the bottom: 3107 II. It was important to have matches throughout the house in the Victorian era.to light each kerosene lamp in each room.to light the stove for cooking.to light the fireplace for heat. Many were made very plain in design. But this one has a"touch of class" that would be a nice addition to any collection of match-holders. CONDITION: This wonderful match-stick holder is in very nice condition. The gold gilt details around the flowers are in good condition with some wear. But it appears there were touches of gold gilt around the tassels and perhaps around the rim of the shoe opening and this is worn. There are tiny areas of black paint missing here and there, but there are also some white-spots of"glare-light" here and there. No cracks or other damage. Up for auction Original Old Stoneware Aspic Mold Measuring 8 3/4" by 6" by 4" high(or deep) This wonderful piece has beautiful form and design. It would be exquisite for display and would make a stunning statement on your table. There is a corn design measuring 5 1/2" by 3" in the very center of the thumb print designed sides. This corn design has wonderful detail. There are two old hairline cracks which are visible from the interior of the piece and partially show on the exterior of the piece. This is a Beautiful Antique. Bonn Franz Anton Mehlem Germany covered cheese dish. The Colors are Vibrant with a gorgeous pheasant on each side of the lid. The Mark date's this piece to have been made sometime from 1885-1920. Making it more than likely over 100 years old. There are no Chips, cracks or breaks but some crazing and staining on the dish base(see Photos) I have not tried to bleach it, I will leave that to its new owner. The tray base measure 9 3/4" by 8 1/4" And with the lid it stands just about 6" high at the highest point on the handle. This company is now known as Villeroy and Boch. My research tells me that this unique flask is from the 1890's or early 1900's time period. It may have been made in Germany. This piece is in excellent condition. It is made of ceramic or porcelain and has a little neck opening on top with the original cork. The back has brown mottled glaze and the front has"rock salt" embedded in the glaze. All of the salt seems to still be intact. It is approximately 5 1/2" long x 3 1/2" wide and 1" tall. Perfect mint condition with no chips. Cracks or damage. Antique Stoneware White Rolling Pin With Blue Decorations
Up for auction is a beautiful white stoneware rolling pin with blue decorations in its salt glaze. It looks the same as some salt glazed crockery. The wooden handles are made of pine. This rolling pin came from a collection that was gathered over some sixty years. There are some slight imperfections that occurred in its manufacture and a slightly darkened narrow strip on one side that apparently came from it sitting on display in one spot for a long time. I have included another picture that shows the shadowy strip that I mentioned in this description. You can also see some of the imperfections that I mentioned. The general appearance of the rolling pin is excellent. The barrel of the pin is 8 inches long and about 3 inches in diameter. Overall it is 16 inches long. This is a wonderfully shaped and sized dish manufactured over 110 years ago in England by Maddock and Sons. The stamp on the bottom is from 1880-1896. Before Maddock added"Ltd" to the stamps. It is made of porcelain and measures a little over 7" long by about 5.5" wide and 1.5" deep. It is in wonderful condition with only one"spider" craze on the inside(you can see in the photo) The design is a beautiful and subtle blue flowers and leaves style. FROM PARIS! This has been in my mother's family for decades. A beautiful RARE piece! I have only seen one other like it and it is priced at $4500! That's how rare and valuable they are! Sevres History Sevres Porcelain traces its roots in France to early craftsmen who had small manufacturing operations in such places as Lille. Rouen. St. Cloud, and most notably Chantilly. It is from Chantilly that a cadre of workers migrated to the Chateau de Vincennes near Paris to form a larger porcelain manufactory in 1738. French King Louis XV, perhaps inspired by his rumored relationship with mistress Madame de Pompadour, took an intense interest in porcelain and moved the operation in 1756 to even larger quarters in the Paris suburb of Sevres. Sevres was also conveniently near the home of Madame de Pompadour and the King's own Palace at Versailles. ... moreFrom the outset the king's clear aim was to produce Sevres Porcelain that surpassed the established Saxony works of Meissen and Dresden. Though the French lacked an ample supply of kaolin. Antique invalid feeder in blue onion pattern with gold trim. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There has been some fading of the gold trim. Bottom is stamped with either A.E.J. or A.E.I. There is a stamped drawing of an eye right above the letters. I haven't been able to find anything out about this mark and would appreciate any information anyone might have. The bottom also has the impressed#2348 with III underneath. The piece is very pretty. The colors are more vivid than my pictures, and it has been well cared for. Combined shipping available.
