Set of 2 German Reticulated Porcelain Dishes,18th Cen Couple Depicted!
Offered here for your Viewing Pleasure are these 2 Lovely Pieces of German Porcelain. The pieces have detailed and deeply reticulated edgings and ric rac borders. The centers have lavish scenes of an 18th century courting couple. Surrounding this center are garlands of flowers and oval portraits of even more flowers on a black background. Only'Germany' is marked on the back. I am listing some Schumann porcelain that came from the same estate sale. also there is listed here on ebay some plates with the same center but no surrounding garlands. That are Schuman. Certainly these pieces came from some Bavarian factory. I'm also listing 4 pieces almost exactly like these 2. Offered is a wonderful hand painted fish platter by Imperial Crown China of Austria that operated between 1883 to 1914. The platter has a raised gold accented scalloped edge. It is 18 1/4" long by 11 1/8" with a depth of 2" There is a large hand painted muskie fish with a water lily. Sea turtle and water ferns. The grae is lines with pink roses and green leaves and stems with a gold decoration painted at the edge of the flowers. The platter is marked with the Imperial Crown China mark and Austria. There are a number of cracks on this plate, some appear to be on the glaze and some on the body. In any case they appear to be very tight. One may be filled at about 7 o'clock, very difficult to see. There also may be a small repair on the back edge, again very difficult to see. Some of these are visible on the front, but very unobtrusive, easier to see on the back. I'm trying to be conservative with the description, I think it looks better in person, see the first picture. There is the usual edge flaking and wear common to all tin glazed earthenware. The gold on the plate is floral decorated and flat on the decoration with a raised beading above and below the floral decoration. Measuring 10 7/8" in diameter handle to handle and 10 1/4" wide top to bottom; it is stunning. It has a severely scalloped rim and cut out handles. The edges are embossed and there is a raised swirl that extends down into the body of the plate. It is enhanced with swags of gold flowers around the edges and handles. There are a total of 6 swags in all. It is not marked and there is no indication of the maker. The condition is good to very good. There are some small areas of discoloration on the back and there is one old small chip but it is not visible from the front of the plate. There is minor surface wear with some very light scratching but it does not affect the design areas. The wear to the base is minimal. I estimate this plate to date to between 1890 and 1910. The plate features a transfer scene in the center that has trees and grasses and what looks to be a church or castle in the backround. The center has green with gold accents leaves around the border. The border of the plate has an ornate scroll pattern in light pink and gold squiggle and shell patterns. Please see pics for a better idea. There are tear shaped pierced designs in groups of 3 below the rim. I believe the rim was trimmed in gold but most has worn away. The plate is in very good condition. Limoges Flambeau Game Plaque Signed Rene Handpainted Antique French Bird Plate
Offered is a Limoges game plaque or plate made by the Flambeau China Factory in France circa 1910. The plaque. Which is 9 3/4" features a colorful bird, a type of rooster, on a green and yellow background. Lost of detail in the rooster. Handpainted and signed by Rene. Nice, sharp painting with clear strokes and rich colors. Gold trim on the edge. Hole in the rim for hanging. The back of the plate is stamped with two green Flambeau Limoges marks used by the L. D. B& Co in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Also stamped Hand Painted. The plaque is in excellent antique condition with some minor loss of gold on the rim. A small indentation under the paint and glaze on the left side. A manufacturing flaw. See pics.

ANTIQUE 1855 STAFFORDSHIRE BRITISH BIRDS WARMING PLATE#2 Here is a fabulous antique Staffordshire warming plate. This is one of two that I have in my e-bay store. It is 10-3/8 inches in diameter and 1-5/8 inches high. The plate is decorated with a deep blue transfer of a bird sitting by a nest full of eggs in a hollow tree stump. The plate rim and the edge of the base feature a transfer of a thorny bough with flower clusters. The plate does have some damage. There is a hairline crack about 1 3/4 inches long that starts at the rim. There is also a small chip on the front and a small chip on the back rim. In addition. There is crazing on top and bottom surfaces and utensil scratches. Please note- I do NOT have the stopper for the water reservoir. The plate is back-stamped as shown.
