EARLY PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE FOLK ART HAND PAINTED STONEWARE PLATE
ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED STONEWARE PLATE For sale is a very old stoneware plate with a primitive leaf or clover design and orange luster rim. The plate has no maker's mark and I wouldn't be surprised to learn if it was over 175 years old. Based on the wear, crazing and firing techniques, although I could not find anything in my research that would assist me in dating it. The plate stand is not included in the sale. As mentioned, there are areas where pieces of ceramic stuck to the plate, burst glaze bubbles, pinholes, burn marks, all likely due to its firing in the kiln. There is also age related crazing, dark spots and overall wear to the glaze. An educated guess and experience tells me this piece is either American or British, and may be as old as the late 1700's to early 1800's. However I am not an expert and would definitely ... morewelcome additional information as to origin and age. A truly wonderful addition to a primitive stoneware or early American antique collection. Measurements: Approximately 9 3/4" Age: Unknown(Best guess is possibly between 1780-1830) C ondition: All sales are"as is" There are areas with piholes. Flow Blue Staffordshire Plate of Hendrick Hudson This is a gorgeous antique flow blue soft paste rolled edge souvenir plate made in Staffordshire England for the American importer Rowland& Marsellus& Co. 1892-1937) and distributed by A.C. Boffelman& Co. NY. This 10” diameter plate features a wonderful detailed scene in the center of the Landing of Hendrick Hudson. With an inset portrait of him as well as Robert Fulton. Around the edge are the Clermont steamship. The State Capitol in Albany. Grant's Tomb, the SS Hendrick Hudson, West Point from the North, and Washington's Headquarters at Newburgh. The front of the plate is decorated with blue forget-me-nots on a yellow undertone. The artist signed the plate; appears to be McLaren. It measures 8.5" in diameter and is in very good condition. The plate has a piece of tape on back with the date 1947 and a name(not sure what it means) The edge of the plate is scalloped and decorated in gold gilding. It has no chips. Cracks or crazing. England during the mid to late 1800s. The plate is made of earthenware and it is hand-painted with maroon flowers, cobalt blue and green leaves, and blue sponge decorated florets. The central image is transfer printed with hand-coloring. There are three rabbits and a frog in the center and the back of the plate is not marked. This pattern can be seen in Kelly& Kowalsky's Spongeware book. Overall the plate measures approximately 9 1/4" in diameter. Item Condition: The overall condition of the plate is very good. It is very clean and there are no chips. Cracks, or repairs, except for a 1/8" chip on the side ... moreof the rim. The color is extremely nice with minimal loss or fading. The glaze is also nice with fine crazing and I see minimal glaze loss or rubbing to the rim. The white earthenware is still very clean and there are light utensil marks to the surface of the plate. Up for Auction is this nice Wm Adams& Co 19th Century stick spatter plate with the Bullseye pattern. Research indicates the potter's stamp including the word'England' occurred 1891+. Four colours were used- black. Red, green, blue. The outer border is a series of sponged black miniature bullseyes. The inside of the plate has hand-painted flowers. There is a paint rub on one of the green leaves from before the plate was fired, the edge is a bit stained and rough, the plate has light glaze crazing. This auction is for a beautiful vintage decorative plate. It is marked on back Thomas Sevres Bavaria. I have shown in picture. This pattern will take your breath away with delicate pink cabbage roses. There is an irridescent accent in center and around plate to add beauty. Also the gold guilding adds a special touch. This plate measures 9 1/8 in. round, a wonderful size. It is in very good condition, no chips but does have a couple nics on back. These do not show, blend well. This is a beautiful Prussia- Royal Rudolstadt plate. This hasn't beautiful floral pattern on the back is the maker's mark. With a"V"in the back of the plate it appears to mean that it is handmade. I believe that this piece is by Frederick Alfred Rhead and is dated from the late 1890's to the early 1900's. It is a beautiful Art Nouveau piece in brilliant blues and yellow. There is a central image of two women and they are surrounded by Art Nouveau flowers and motifs. The charger measures 14-1/2 inches in diameter and stands 1-1/2 inches tall and there are three holes on the back of the base for wire to hang it on the wall. This is a beautiful plate and looks stunning however there are three hairline cracks that measure about 4 inches long. Raised Shell Center Antique 19th C. Oyster Plate
This Beautiful and Unique Antique Oyster Plate has a raised or"Pedestal" center in the shape of a perfect shell. The plate is 8.5" in diameter and 1.75" tall. The plate is in pristine condition with NO cracks. Crazing, chips, or repairs. The gold is beautiful and the wells are pink. Although there is no maker's mark on the back there is the mark of the retailer- Nathan Dohrmann, one of the leading retailers of the 19th C. in San Francisco and numbered 6/64. This plate is featured on page 126 of Jeffery Snyder's book"Collecting Oyster Plates" with a price range that is double the starting price of this auction.

Porcelain Charger / Coronet Limoges / Two Wild Boars Frolicking in the Snow
This antique porcelain charger was produced in France between 1908 and 1914 by the P.M. de Maveleix porcelain factory and was hand-painted by the Limoges artist Pradet who was known for animal illustrations. This particular charger depicts two wild boars flolicking in the snow. Coronet Limoges porcelain was brought to the United States by George Borgfeldt who was a New York based porcelain importer with a decorating studio in Paris. The"Pradet" name appears directly under one of the wild boars. This charger is fully marked on its underside with the green P.M. de Maveleix factory logo and the green Coronet Limoges logo that reads"Limoges/Coronet/France" and a crown. Vintage Blue Hand Made in Italy Florentine Decorative Plate. I am not sure how old this plate is. The plate is very dark blue with a raised gold design around the picture in the center with what look like tiny gold flowers around the center and a gold edge. This Beautiful Plate was hanging on the wall in my grandmothers house for many years. There are holes formed in the back ridge of the plate. To put a wire through to hang the plate on the wall. There are 2 spots on the plate which look like they may have been touched up at some point but I am sure this is how my grandmother got the plate. Here is a set of 11 + 1 Charles Ahrenfeldt Vintage Antique Porcelain China Plates. The edges are scalloped. The colors are cream. Red, yellow, blue and Gilt. These are 9.5 Inch Dinner Plates. The back mark reads"R B Boston Fabrique en France and CA France" The 12th plate is just slightly different. The back mark is"CA France C. Ahrenfeldt Limoges" The center star is more dense than the others but the border is the same. There are small chips on two of the plates. There is some paint wear. These plates belonged to my grandmother. According to the Ahrenfeldt web site for back marks, these plates were made between 1894 and 1930. Thank You For Looking!

I have seen one of these plates once before and it was labeled flow blue but I am not so sure. If I were guessing. I'd say it's early transferware. but? The plate measures approximately 10 3/8" in diameter. It appears to be in generally excellent condition. However there is the expectable light underglaze crazing ... morein a piece of this age. Large antique plate has an unusual deep thick turquoise glazed border with light lavender flowers. It appears at one time there could have been gold gilt around the rim as there is a small area of gilding. Antique Limoges 8& 1/2" Hand Painted Plate Factory Artist Signed Baumy. Description Description ~ This absolutely beautiful plate is a superb example of a masters work. The factory artist. Baumy has painted a serene portrait of a lady at a shoreline dipping her toes and smelling a flower in a wonderfully depicted transparent gown. Not a nude but suggestive of just that. She is framed in a highly detailed raised gold gilt design that though it is incredibly detailed it flatters rather than deflects from the magnificent portrait. The blank is from Coiffe and is of a complex shape with a heavy gold band around the rim. The majority of this plates face is in a soft pastel yellow up to the raised gilt. The raised gold gilt is over white Back stamps ~ The underglaze factory mark is from Coiffe which was in production from the 1870’s to ... morethe mid 1920’s. This mark is a green underglaze that Coiffe used from 1891 to 1914. The decorators mark is a red overglaze that Blakeman& Henderson used from the 1890’s to the 1900’s There is also a red overglaze import stamp that reads J. P. Hale. Akron Ohio. I am guessing that J. P. Hale was a department store at the turn of the last century. Artist signed on the front. Baumy” who is a listed factory artist. Deciphering the back stamps determines that this plate was created sometime between 1891– 1914. Condition ~ Is excellent. All the gold is intact. Full and bright with a slight touch of loss at the very edge of the plate. The painting and raised gilt is perfect. ~REPAIR~ on left side at the rim. Antique c 1890 - 1913 Furnivals Limited mark DENMARK BLUE England Dinner Plate
10 1/4" Antique"Blue Denmark" pattern by Furnivals Limited. The mark on the back designates it was produced between circa 1890 to 1913.The backstamp is the ship with Furnivals Limited Trademarks England Made in England and embossed VAL O. Excellent condition. No chips. Cracks, nicks. No crazing. All I find through very intense light and close scrutiny is 3 short,light utensil scratches. There is no utensil marks, stains or wear spots. I do combine shipping. Furnivals is the most prominent of several Staffordshire potters to produce versions of the pattern based on the Royal Copenhagen original from 1850's to 1968 with virtually no modifications. It is a repeating pattern of mussels and stylized flowers traditionally in an under-glaze blue on a white background. The pattern is said to be complex.
