Here is a very unique planter signed Gracetone. It says- Individually yours from your greater Oklahoma City Florist Assoc. on the bottom. I read that John Frank purchased this company from 1959-67. It is a very nice sturdy planter in a white color. It is aprox. 5 1/4" tall and is aprox. 21 1/2" around. John Frank is the founder of Frankoma Pottery and I find his pottery sometimes at sales here in Oklahoma! I have never found one that has this writing on it.

Writing desk, letter, compass of Civil War General William S Rosecrans
Available at auction is a collection of items believed to have belonged to Civil War Brig.Gen William Starke Rosecrans. Commander of the Army of the Cumberland and one of the more effective Union Generals of the Civil War. The collection includes a saddlebag(battlefield) style writing desk with inkwell, probably used for issueing orders and sending messages when afield far from headquarters. Also included is a Gold(plated? pen with mother of pearl stem. An ebony wood handled"R" sealing stamp and an assortment of sealing wax sticks and a wooden cased compass. The desk has a writing surface with a compartment below for storage inside which is the sealing wax and a fitted case for the pen. There is also a beautifully scribed letter from Brig. Gen. Rosecrans to a Captain at the Headquarters of the Army of the Mississippi. The letter ... moreis dated Aug 25, 1862 and is in pristene condition. The letter has the"Capitol" embossed seal in the upper left corner to attest to it's authenticity. There is also an envelope from"Headquarters 1st Division, 4th Army Corps" Department of the Cumberland" The writing desk is in good condition with the expected rubbing wear from saddlebag use and age and is approx. 10" x 6" x 1-1/2" thick and has the name"William S. Rosecrans" inside the flap. The latching strap and snap is intact and functional. The inkwell, pen and wax sealing stamp are all in excellent condition. Also included is a wooden cased compass in beautiful working condition with some sort of a triangle symbol on the cover. The brass latches are both in working order. Lovely and very feminine 1850s French writing set. With exquisite pink latticino glass handles and ornate gilt metal mounts. It comprises of a goose nib dip pen, a wax seal without monogram and a letter opener with an etched and gilt blade with flowers and scrolls. There are also three spare goose nibs. Considering the type and quality of the glass. Names of French glass makers such as Clichy and Saint Louis, come into mind. The glass is in amazingly good condition. Just a couple of minute scratches on the letter opener handle. The handle of the seal. However, tilts. The gilding of the letter opener blade is worn, especially on one side, and there are also some stains. Original faux leather cardboard box lined with light grey velvet and silk. It embraces both a sewing or work box with original red velvet and silk trimming. Plus a writing slope within the bottom section that springs out at a touch of a button. The sewing section has numerous compartments for storage and an under tray section giving plenty of additional space. The tool tray has a selection of bone(mostly 18thC Georgian) artifacts including several ... morecrochet hooks. Awls and a bone needle. Additionally it includes a bobbin and a couple of bobkin or needle cases with screw off tops. This little collection of tools and 18thC sewing bits are worth a reasonable sum if sold separately. The lower tray. Released by a brass button within the back edge of the piece, contains a complete writing slope with a rocking pen tray, silver plated inkwell(totally original and in great condition) and a stamp slope. The leather covering is also original and has cracked across the fold(absolutely quite normal, given it's age, and is best left) A little brass pull catch to the front of the drawer adds to the overall"look" to this box. The external condition of this box is exceptional. All four sides are finished in highly figured walnut with additional inlay to the front to include abalone shell. Brass, ivorine and pewter stringing. The top has a sensational multi-inlaid finish. It uses rosewood, burr maple and burr yew wood and is complimented with pewter stringing, white metal, abalone shell and ivorine inlays. 1800's Northwind Georgian 1/4 sawn Oak Writing Desk/Table
This beautiful table is the original from which there have been several copies made. The table is finished with Lunette carved edges and inset scrolling acanthus carved border on the top. The desk is finished on all four sides with magnificently carved apron and beautifully carved North Wind Faces on the corners. The front of the desk has a large drawer which is dovetailed front and back. The large drawer is divided into three large sections. The table is set on wonderfully carved legs. Which taper down to acanthus carved blocks ending on bun foot on casters. The stretchers are finished in the same manner. The size is 50" wide x 33"deep x 30" high. The most recent copy sold here on E-bay for 2,995.0, and it's size was only 45" wide x 28"deep x30"high. I believe this table was made between 1740- 1840.The legs ... moreand stretchers are two pieces of wood doweled. And glued together, and then carved and doweled together, they were not turned on a lathe. This table is a one of a kind piece. Antique Writing Slope - Art Deco Coromandel/Kingwood 1920/30.
This is a very unusual& beautiful Coromandel& Kingwood writing slope produced around the Art Deco period. The top is Kingwood and looks like a sympathetic restoration everything else is original. There is a small closed crack to the lid see photograph 5. Also the lock and key are very stiff and it requires effort to open and shut. The interior is a stunning Coromandel. There is also a lovely'S' curve to the'opening' and'shutting' which cant easily be seen in the photographs. All in leather& wood. Never seen one like this.Questions welcome.

Unusual English William IV Fitted Rosewood Travel Writing Box c.1830
A really charming little travelling writing box dating to the William IV era. Around 1830. The box is typical of the period, made from Rosewood with a simple design and a beaded edge to the lid. The box comes complete with it's original key and reveals the most superb fitted interior, again beautifully original with the original blue paper lining. There are two lidded compartments, for nibs, a seal, sealing wax, clips etc. and to the front a rocking removable pen tray. The campaign style inkwell is the original and remaining in beautiful condition, a glass ink with a silver plated lid with a bolt and a folding wing nut closure. Somebody over the years has painstakingly created a hand made woolwork tapestry to fit into the lid, a beautiful scene, featuring ducks on a pond, quite beautiful. Magnificent Large Antique English Stationery / Writing Box In Burr Walnut c.1900
A really wonderful example of a late Victorian/ Edwardian stationery cabinet. Made from Burl Walnut(really, my very favourite timber) with it's exquisite grain and cognac colouring. The cabinet opens to reveal a fully fitted interior, with a rare Satinwood lining, this was clearly a top-notch(and expensive) example made for a wealthy family. The door interior on the left is for notes and business cards and the framed slate on the opposite door for writing notes etc. The box comes with a working replacement key, having a sprung Bramah action, requiring a push and full turn with the key. There are two original cut crystal inkwells with beautifully gilded lids and a beaded trim. They sit either side of the removable pen tray with space underneath for keeping pens, nibs and the like. There are various sections to store stationery. There are ... moretwo boxes at the top which hold the calendar cards, one for the day and one for the month, both removable and crafted in Satinwood. All the cards are present. In the centre is a space where the family would have carried a travelling or carriage clock. There is also a drawer to the bottom of the box which can only be slid open while the box is unlocked and is held secure when the doors are shut. A beautiful and useful desk-top gem for the lady or gentleman. Excellent condition and an impressive large size measuring 13 1/4" x 10 1/2" x 12 1/2" tall at the rear. One is short of 4 3/4" long and the longest is 5 4/8" They are all made of a Made of a silver(stamped with a Persian hallmark) Gross weight on my postal scale is 2.8 ounces of the precious alloy.
