And there is about a million of inches of snow on the ground, in order to take a few pictures of this huge carrier, I took it outside because nothing beats sunlight for showing colors accurately. In other words, I did it for you. This carrier is right out of someone’s smokehouse. And it comes complete with cobwebs, estate dirt, and everything else associated with old, undisturbed, primitive things. It is big! The box part is 25 ½” by 10 ¾” at the top edge. It is 4 ½” deep. The total height to the top of the handle is 6 ½” So we’re talking about a large tote. Weight = 5 ½ lbs. I managed to get two or three pictures before almost freezing to death. And I know who’s to blame. It’s the person who invented the chill factor. I knew it was 3° outside, but my smart phone said it“felt like” 10° below zero. We didn’t have all this“wind-chill factor” horse pucky back when I was a pup. We looked at the thermometer, and if it said it was 3°, we knew to bundle up. This is a wonderful antique primitive decorated wood string hand winder. It was acquired with oiled wool on it. I removed the wool so I could see the condition of the wood underneath(very messy job! As you can see. Because of the oil in the wool the wood is beautiful but there is a crack in one section(see picture) The wool will be shipped in the ball, I will not be putting it back on. This winder measures 15" long. Besides the crack you will see some mild rub wear and what looks like paint or scuffing on one of the handles. Otherwise in very good condition. I am selling the frame as the keypoint of this piece. The strawberries came in it and I will keep them in it. But they show fading, and I'm not as thrilled with them as I am with the frame. The frame is just beautiful. It does have one small place where the gold is worn I show you in picture three. The frame measures 11.5 x 13.5 by 2.25 inches deep. Wood looks like mahogany. The four corners have been attached originally with tiny nails with heads covered. One of these nails is missing, hard to see. Lovely original patina. ANTIQUE WINCHESTER WOOD CHISEL 1/2" vintage cast iron pistol grip hand saw thor
Here is a 1/2 inch Winchester wood chisel. It has been used quite a bit. And the wooden handle is loose and starting to split. On the chisel it says"Winchester Pade Mark Made in U.S.A. 4843 1/2 in" The saw is an older cast iron skeleton handle saw. There is a makers mark but I can not read it(been wore off) The blade in the saw says"THOR" on it. The little set screws holding the blade in look to be original. They both have been used.
