Up for auction is an antique. Primitive, wood splint farm basket. Excluding the handle, the basket measures 6 inches high, 13 1/2 inches wide, and 9 inches long. It has two old layers of green paint. You can see this best in photo#5. All of the photo's show some paint loss. If you look closely at photo's#6-10, you'll see that there's wire that's wrapped around the handle and through the center of the basket. I'm guessing that this was done for reinforcement. Up for sale today. I am offering an antique wooden Zither. This beautiful instrument has been through a lot in its lifetime. The wood is a bit warped, and it doesn't sit completely flat when on a flat surface. There is some cracks in the wood and it needs a couple of repairs. It also needs new strings. However, this is still a beautiful piece. There is a gorgeous gold and red border that goes around the whole instrument. Above the hole in the middle is an awesome Bald Eagle depiction sitting on top of a shield with the American flag on it. The mouthpiece is black plastic(neither the mouthpiece nor its cover are marked) It is housed in an old case with maroon plush lining. I do not know much about musical instruments so please ask any questions well in advance of the auction’s ending. There is a pre-zipcode(1963) foil label for an instrument repair business on the inside of the case- it probably hasn’t been serviced since. When closed the case measures about 13.25" x 6.5" x 3.75. RARE CARVED WOOD 19TH C ANTIQUE IROQUOIS PUMP DRILL / FIRE STARTER NO RESERVE
For sale is a rather scarce Native American item from the mid 19th c. It is known as a pump drill. This one has a metal bit. Which is an early iron nail. It would have been used for making holes in leather, shells, beads, etc. If a wooden bit is used instead, it becomes a fire starter. The gentleman I bought it from said it was Iroquois and I think so too. The stick is topped with a pewter cap and there is original green paint band around the edge of the wheel. When the twisted hide cords are wound around the stick in such a way, it twirls the bit, when you push up and down. It is approx. 17 and 1/4 inches long and 8 and 1/2 inches wide at handle. Because the heavy leather bellows has hardened despite my attempts to make it flexible with leather dressing. Etc. They move only a little bit and produce only a light puff of air. Partly because they also have a hole in the leather, as shown. Nevertheless, the y have a rich patina and I've had them hanging on the wall with some other items and they're very decorative. One side has the 6"petal" carved design. And there's a hole with the leather flap on the other side for drawing in the air when they're expanded. It is a very old antique and will not be perfect. I do not know the exact date it was made or who the maker is. The base measures 39 inches tall, 53 inches side to side and 23 inches front to back. It weighs 75 pounds. The top measures 34 ½ inches tall, 49 1/8 inches side to side and 17 1/8 inches front to back. It weighs 97 pounds. Mechanically this level functions with ease. All of the adjustment knobs turn effortlessly and the lenses on the telescope are also in great condition. When looking through the scope the horizontal cross hair mark is perfect while the vertical line has a small ... moresquiggle at the top of the line. The finish on the scope has only two very small black marks and underneath the level is a slightly discolored area around one of the screws. Other than those few cosmetic marks this level looks as though it was barely used. The level still works properly when adjusted. The telescope on this level measures 10 1/2" long. The beautiful wooden box that this Transit Level Telescope comes in is also in fantastic shape. Measuring 11 3/4" long. 7" high and 5 1/4" wide. Both latching hooks, eyelets and leather strap are in great condition with the leather strap showing cracks but no tears or rips. The inside of the box has a"How to Adjust Bubbles" info sheet attached to the lid. Really cool antique and would be a great addition to any collection. This is a 1972 panasonic solid-state 7257 wood covered transistor radio by General Electric and it ROCKS! Works and sounds beautiful. It screams 1970's. FM sounds better than HD. AM works perfectly but I'm in a metal building in the middle of nowhere so I was picking up a lot of static. The wood has shined up brilliantly. It has its flaws and imperfections but once you see it in person you realize none of that matters. It really is one amazing radio. The sound is something you just can't get anymore. This fabulous antique fireplace bellows is made of wood and leather and has decorative brass tacks. It measures 15 3/4" long and almost 7" wide at the widest points. Our grandkids told us. When you pump this you can still smell the smoke of long ago! Only grandkids would think to check this out! There is some wear to the leather but no holes that I can detect. It still works well! Antique Canvas Water Bag with Wood Carrying Handle
Up for auction I have an antique Canvas Water Bag with wood carrying handle. This bag was recently purchased at an Estate sale in my area. This bag is probably from the 1940's-50's. Possibly earlier. Its bag is made from a heavy, tan/light brown canvas. This water bag has a wooden plug in the top left corner of the bag. The outer neck of this plug is sealed tight to the canvas.The plug has a hollow center for pouring the liquid into. There is an old cork stopper in the mouth of the wooden plug. I would guess that this is the original cork stopper. You have a red, wooden carrying handle attached to the top edge of the bag, through which a heavy rope is connected. One end of the rope goes into two holes in the handle and then a knot was put on the end of the rope to hold it place. The other end goes through an eyelet in the top right ... morecorner of the bag, through the hole and knotted. Research that I have done on these bags show that they had many uses. It is said that these bags were used as an automobile radiator bag or as a canteen to carry water. Supposedly, you would wet the bag, fill it with water and hang the rope over the cars hood ornament. The wind passing over the wet bag cooled the water, which probably came in handy on a hot summer day. This bag shows some wear and a little tear. The canvas needs a bit of cleaning. The red wooden handle is a bit faded and it has a 3/8" tiny puncture wound near the right bottom corner of the left side of the bag. You can see this in attached photo#1 and it shows up as a dark spot. There are(2) other spots directly above the puncture but they are marks on the canvas. The other side of the bag is in good condition but could still use a little cleaning. Overall, for its age and use, it is in really good condition! There are no identifying marks on the handle or bag. ANTIQUE ICE FISHING DECOY This very early ice fishing/ spearing decoy is hand carved wood with metal fins and weight. The fish is about 5 3/8" and there are very fine traces of the original paint.silver& red. It is unsigned but nicely proportioned. Please see photos to fully appreciate condition and description. I recently bought a small collection of fish decoys and will be listing these over the next several weeks. Many have what appears to be original paint. Antique Painted Wood Bowl About 17" in Diameter Probably Poplar (Tulip Wood)
Antique wood bowl that is painted a pale grey green. It is a turned bowl probably made of poplar(tulip wood) It is about 16 1/4" by 17 1/4" About 1" out of round. That is a good indicator that the bowl has a lot of age. It is a bit over 6" deep. The paint? Not new but not very old. It has some wear and suffing that I think have come with use. It looks great on a worn and primative table. The paint has probably kept it from starting to crack as these bowls want to do when they get enough age to get out of round and you can figure at least 60 to 70 years for that to happen. This is just a very large super old wood bowl.

Very cool wood turned bowl with enamel-like pale buttery yellow paint. I have no idea what the age of this piece is. It has the slightly oblong shape that forms in wood over time- measured one way it is 8 and 5/8" and the other way it is 9 and 1/8" And 2" deep. Perfect condition with nice patina.
