Late Song(906-1279 A.D. or early Yuan Dynasty(1275-1368 A.D. Possibly Ming or Even an 18th or 19th Century Revival Imitative. SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Height: 303 millimeters(12 1/8 inches) Diameter: 146 millimeters(5 7/8 inches) at lower bowl; 37 millimeters(1 1/2 inches) at top lip; 98 millimeters(3 7/8 inches) at base. CONDITION: Exceptionally good. Very well preserved. The normal potting blemishes associated with hand production(warts, dimples, zits and pits) No cracks, only minor chipping ... moreat the top rim, no repairs, the glaze is entirely intact! DETAIL: A splendid black/brown glazed earthenware bottle in the style of the Song or Yuan Dynasty of Ancient China. This particular style was produced using a black glaze. High in iron oxides, with a slurry overglaze creating floral designs, the overglaze even higher in iron oxides. In the kiln the iron would migrate to the surface of the glaze, creating brown/rust-colored“oil spots” or streaky“hare’s fur” patterns, or as in the case floral patterns, or more primitively even simple swirls or undertones on the otherwise black glaze. Now known as“Jun” ceramics, the style was to become very famous throughout the Song and Yuan Dynasties, having originated in the earlier Tang Dynasty. The style became extremely popular in ancient China, especially with Japanese Monks to whom the Chinese exported this unique and rare product. Tea bowls were the most common produce of this technique. Takahashi hand-painted San Francisco Japan PIG black white glazed cup mug
This is a rare collectible mug by Takahashi. The imprint on the bottom says"Japan San Francisco" so I'm not sure of its exact origin. It's is glazed and has a pig's face and pig's feet as a stand. And a handle. It is hand-painted and about 3" tall. There are no functional defects like chips or cracks. But the interior has some black specks- I am not sure whether these were paint flecks that came with the mug originally or whether they got there from store items inside. They don't seem to wash out easily but you may be able to scrape them off. Also, the black paint on the outside is a bit irregular- again, this may be by design- to give it a more'handmade' look. Please review all photos and ask questions before purchasing.

Antique Chinese Famille Rose Black Glazed Porcelain Cup and Saucer & enamel tray
This beautiful cup and saucer is marked CHINA with two rows of Chinese characters. I believe it's an export from before 1920. The design is a beautiful multi color floral reminiscent of the rose medallion or famile rose pattern. There was an enamel cloissone tray that accompanied it and I could not break them up. The tray or ashtray is in very good condition and marked CHINA. The tea cup has a small chip on the rim towards the back near the handle which won't affect it's display. Mid Century Japanese Black Glazed Footed Pottery Bowl Artist Signed
Striking mid century Japanese pottery bowl stands on three feet and has a black glaze over red pottery stoneware. The glaze varies in thickness giving a wonderful depth and dimension with an almost smooth texture in some spots and rough and sandy in others. There are applied pottery squares with a leaf pattern- one on the inside and four on the outside. It measures 6" in diameter and 2.5" tall and is in great condition with just a couple of places where the glaze missed and some light wear on the outer edges of the appliques. It is signed by the artist on the center bottom. I acquired this piece and several others from a local estate of an avid collector of Japanese pottery and have more by this artist that I will be adding soon. Fine Japanese Meiji Period Black Glazed Pottery Pepper Form with Seal Mark

Vintage 30s 40s Glazed Black Straw Flat Tip Tilt Hat w/ Chinese Knotted Silk Cord& Balls. Click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge Interesting flat crown tip hat that I believe dates from the 1930s- to early 40s. Made from a fine. Tightly woven glazed straw, this is constructed in two parts, with the crown and rear extension being separate from the brim. Their union is covered with a wonderful braided black silk Chinese cord, from which dangles three corde wrapped balls( All is black except for the slate blue cord that covers two of the balls and is wrapped around the hat band joints.I have shown it both tilted straight forward(my personal preference) and tilted over the right eye. There is an elastic hair cord present to support a tilt. Labeled: Wethern's Inc/ Boston Paris(They were a highly respected milliner in Boston ... moreas early as 1859) No size is indicated. But should fit up to a 22" head, based on how it fits me. Diameter is 11" wide x 12" Condition is very good. Hat was somewhat crushed when I received it and it responded well to a steaming. I think it could use more shaping. Though it is wearable as is. Otherwise is in excellent condition, with little signs of wear. No odors. Scroll down and enlarge the pix!
