Wonderful embroidered Miao(also known as Hmong) Yao(also known as Mien) shoulder bag from southern China. Yunnan or Guizhou region or perhaps Northern Thailand. I was going to list this as a Miao bag, not remembering exactly when or where or how it arrived in my possession. But on second thought/look, I believe it is a"hybrid" of Miao and Yao. The main bag, based on the kind of embroidery but especially the red fringe tassels, clued me in to it being Yao(if you look at theYao pants I have for sale you will see a resemblance in the embroidery) The handle, however(not the original, I'm sure) seems to be the strap from a Miao baby carrier. Hence a hybrid bag. A quite alluring one, at that. The bag is quite thick and the cotton used quite heavy. Expressly for Medicinal Use ~ almost 8" tall ~ White as this is China with teal-green graphics ~ The following comes from a blog/website about Art Liquor Jugs: Meredith’s knack for publicity was matched by the themes of his advertising. His newspaper ads and container labels insisted that the whiskey was“pure. once again exhibiting his merchandising savvy. The hottest consumer issue of the decade was the safety of merchandised food and drink products. The Pure Food and Drug Act would be enacted a several years later and“purity” had the same draw as“all natural” does today. Diamond Club’s purity, Meredith announced, made it“the safest whiskey on earth” for medical purposes. He claimed that one“nip” was worth 10 doses of medicine and boasted that his liquor had been“officially ... morerecognized” by the medical profession. How and where, he did not elaborate. By stressing his whiskey’s therapeutic rather than its lubricating qualities Meredith also was attempting to circumvent the burgeoning Temperance Movement. Antique Republic of China Green Blue Copper Plates
Flowers painted on these fantastic Republic of China-made plates/saki bowls/saucers during the 40s? era. I am very unsure as to what I have. But I have dealt with antiques since I was 17(I am 25 now) and I can tell you- these are OLD. The feel of these bowls are as if they were stored away for safe keeping. I tr ied to give multiple exposures of th ese so one can get a true idea of what they look like. Please let me know BEFORE YOU BID if you would like insurance. Green with pink and blue coloring flowers. And the other blue with pink coloring flowers. Both with what I am assuming is gold OR brass inlays. There is an obvious impact damage to the green bowl. Which also has the sticker. The sticker reads"MADE IN THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA" The inside of the bowl(which can be seen in the last two pictures I've supplied) ... moreappears to be copper in color. But I assume is brass since the outer rim and bottom rim of bowl are brass. Apparent hand-painted. I could be wrong. But I would say I am 98% sure of it. Given the faults associated with this piece. Jade Pot This is a pretty antique Chinese brush washer or pot(or perhaps a small vase) carved of a single piece of hetian jade in a muted pale green. The carving is simple. The oval cup nesting in a tree branch with a spray of flower or fruit. The pot stands 2 1/2" high and 3 7/8" across. I would guess this to be from the 1900s or so, but am not certain. It has some wear from age and an old hairline crack on one side. There is also a small hole inside the cup near the bottom. Here is an Antique or Vintage hand-painted P. T. Porcelaine Tirschenreuth) creamer from Bavaria. It is beautifully hand-painted with flowers and gold leaf and is in excellent condition with the exception of some minor rubs on the gold leaf. No Chips. Cracks or grazing. This graceful creamer was made in Germany by Tirschenreuth Porcelain Factory and is stamped with their P.T. Bavaria mark underneath. Marks are a Shield with crown on top and laurel leaves surrounding it and also has the letters P. on left and T. on right of the shield and the words"Hand painted" in lovely script lettering. This is a lovely set of 6 Adderley cups and saucers. They feature back brown leaf pattern and have gold details to the rim and base of each cup. Cup handle sides and around the edge of the saucer. There is absolutely no wear on this. The base of each piece indicates that this is pattern no. H495. We are unsure of the age of the crockery but think it may be from the 1950s. The saucer is 12.5cm diameter. The cup is 6.5cm diameter. In excellent condition. There is no crazing and no chips. One cup has a very fine cracking but appears to retain its strength. Antique Oliver China Co. smoker's bowl, circa early 1900's

I believe this piece was a storage bowl for cigarettes or cigars. Or possibly pipe tobacco. It probably had a lid, which no longer exists. There doesn't seem to be many pieces around from the Oliver China Co. My research showed that the company existed from 1898 till 1911, when it became the E.H. Sebring China Co. This bowl is in excellent shape for being over 100 years old. The glaze is still very bright, as are the graphics of the cigar and cigarette. It measures approx. 3-7/8"H x 6" dia. at the base, and 4" across the top. This bowl is 3" in height, 10 1/4" in diameter, and as you can see one of the finest most elaborate rims that one could ask for on a beautiful old bowl. The inner rim features roses and florals around 2/3rd of the circumference of the bowl and at one end is the beautiful pierced branch that is holding the seven leaves that form the bowl, border, and fine rim. This china at the rim was so well made that it's sharp. While this bowl is unlabeled, whatever company made it would have lost some many bowls in the forming, firing, and decorating that they couldn't afford to do such beautiful work today. Enjoy! Set 3 Antique Porcelain China Victorian Handpainted Fluted Bowls Spectacular set of three intricately handpainted fluted. Footed bowls, one large one and two small matching ones. All three pieces of the set are painted in the extremely popular roses pattern of the late Victorian years, elaborated detailed in gold gilt. The large piece measures 5 ½-inches across and stands 3-inches high and the two small pieces stand 3-inches across by 1 ½-inches tall. The two smaller fluted bowls are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The large bowl has a clumsily repaired leg– please see photo. The large piece weighs 8.3 ounces and the weight of all three pieces is almost 12 ounces. The gilt is worn in places. As would be expected of such old pieces. They are not marked on the base. Old Chinese Cup Trio This is an interesting trio of old Chinese miniature bowls or wine cups. Each porcelain with blue decoration. Two of the cups are very similar with flared edge, raised foot and voluptuous chrysanthemum decoration on the outside. The third is decorated with a blue fishnet design and is signed on the bottom with a character. These bowls have apparently survived a fire; one is misshapen from the heat and the others have deposits fused onto the porcelain. Somehow it makes them even more interesting. Antique Pickard China Handpainted Pitcher and Plate set. Haviland. France. Pickard stamped. And signed by artist. This Pickard China set is stunning and a fabulous collectible. Early 20th Century pieces. The dimensions are as follow: The plate is 8 3/4 inches across The pitcher stands at 8 inches tall at the pour spout. 7 inches across the base, 14 inches around the center and 4 3/4 inches by 6 inches at the opening in top. The gold on this set is in what I would call Excellent Condition. The pitcher has minor wear on 4 high points on left side of the handle and 3 high points on the opposite. All wear marks from use. No chipping or holes or cracks. The bottom edge shows similar minimal wear at the very base edge where the finish wraps around to the bottom. Again only minimal wear, no chipping.holes.or cracking. The plate shows some"pin ... morepoint" size wear along the very outer wrapped edges in 3 areas along one corner. Again, only very minimal wear, no chips or cracks or holes. All the flat surfaces are comepletely intact no chips, cracks or holes. Some surface wear in the finish from previous cleaning. There is no craking in the finish of the china. The interior of the pitcher retains its original lustre. It is as smooth and shiny as the day it was purchased. Antique/Vintage Stone China Soap Dish ... Astbury & Maddock
Two pieces of antique/vintage stone china. I believe the back stamp reads"Astbury& Maddock" judge for yourself) The soap dish is in fine shape which includes the original strainer. the strainer is sta ined but has no cracks or chips nor does the lid or soap dish. The soap dish interior and outside lower part(below the pink and gold line) is heavily crazed. The second piece has holes in the bottom. Perhaps a toothbrush holder, and is stained on the upper rim. Chances are there was an under dish for the holder. When I saw this piece it had a bouquet of artificial flowers in it which hid the stain and I didn't even notice the perforated bottom until the flowers were removed. Questions? Pair Antique Chinese/China solid silver bowls with handles by Zeewo/Shanghai
Two wonderfull Chinese solid silver pierced bowls with stylised bamboo handles.Stamped by the well known Silversmith and Retailer ZEEWO. This maker.Based at. 370 Honan road, Shanghai,was reno wn for producing high q uality piece s of silver.Interestingly.These bowls.Which were purchased in the late 19th/ early 20th century.Have been in the same familly since they were originally purchased in Shanghai,and are now being sold again for the f irst time. The bowls appear to be i n perfect condition.With a beaded type border to rim and base,and the handles look to simulate bamboo.The hallmarks are clearly visible on the base of each bowl.There is as is mentioned in the condition report.A slight tear,on one bowl, wher e the piercing has split.But this cannot be seen,and is firm,and does not in any way detract,from the piece. I only discovered this ... morewhen polishing,and it is an extremly minor bl emish.To two elegant and well made bowls.It is unusual to have a"pair" of these,still kept together fo r well over 100 years.And it is probably because they were kept in the same familly. International buyers. Please contact us for shipping cost before buying What a wonderful find! This old(hotel china? restaurant vitrified china food plate cover or dome has no damage. Just crazing and staining from age and use. We know how to remove the staining but are waiting to hear whether the buyer would like us to, or leave it as-is(some do prefer that! the staining is in the form of light brown splotches that run along most of the entire inside of the rim, but only two or three of these on the outside, and they're not as bold. It's hard to see them in the pictures. The picture of two"Indian maidens" facing each other. With their stylized headresses, and the lettering(BB&C co. and curvy lines are all Art Nouveau flourishes of the period- this could be around 1900, or possibly the 20's when Indian themes were ... moreall the rage. A very handsome and scarce collector's piece with a striking design in black and green. If you look close at the design, you can see a stylized jar or bottle that has been incorporated, flowing from behind the Indian princesses and around the lettering logo. A mystery as to what this was supposed to mean, and what company this was! Green band with smaller black bands circle all the way around the bottom, unbroken, as well as around the finger hole at the top of the dome. Measures approximately 6 1/8" in diameter, and stands about 2 1/2" high. Winning bidder: Please specify whether you'd like us to send this as it is. Or bleach the stains out as best we can.
