ANTIQUE MATCHED PAIR ART NOUVEAU 1920 - 1940 ERA BEDROOM DRESSER LAMPS SATIN
We have for your viewing and bidding pleasure 2 antique and or vintage bedroom dresser lamps. They are a matched pair in a satin glass. They appear to be in the art nouveau style and form. The lamps have a gentleman and woman dancing with her dress flowing upward and outward. The figures are highly detailed and show the man's shirt collar with a tie and buttons on his coat with a vest. The lady is barefoot. We have no idea of the exact year of these lamps. We speculate anywhere from the 1920's to 1940's era. The cords are the type from around the 1930's era. The cords are the same but the plug ends are different. One plug has been taped with black friction tape. Both lamps work. The switches go on and off. The lightbulbs we used for the photos are for demonstration only and do not work. They are also of different size so the ... morephoto that shows the shades on the lamps. One is a little higher than the other. The shades will come with the lamps but no lightbulbs(we would suggest a 25 to 40 watt lightbulb so the shades do not get hot and get burnt) The shades are in good condition. One is better than the other. This other one has a few soiled and/or stained spots. At the bottom side base area of both lamps there is a notch in the glass for the cord to come out of so the lamps set level. To the right of this notch on both lamps in embossing they have the word COPYRIGHT. The glass on the lamps are in perfect condition with no cracks or breaks. The lamps were fairly recently obtained from a first pick estate sale and the lamps were obtained directly out of the bedroom off of the dresser and unplugged. With the 25 watt lightbulb in and the shade snapped over the lightbulb they stand 16 3/8” high. The figures themselves are about 5 ½” high. From the bottom of the base to the top of the man's head it is 7 ½” high. Across the base they are 4 ½” wide. For your consideration is this Set Of 3 Antique Hand Hammered Copper Hanging Lamps. Possibly Roycroft, Dard Hunter type work. These are three of the nicest matching hanging lamps I have had in over 30 years in the business. These lamps come from the"Arts& Crafts" era. They are unattributed in that they are not signed. We looked them over very carefully can cannot find a signature except for a few numbers on the flat part of the frame that holds the shade. They look like the work of possibly Roycroft, Dard Hunter, Dirk Van Erp, Heintz or maybe Lilian Palmer. Lillian Palmer did her work in a shop in San Francisco, about 1912-1915. Palmer's work is often unique and never signed.The metalsmiths working for her at the time included Harry Dixon and Hans Jauchen, contemporaries of Dirk van Erp in San Francisco. He said he bought them from a friend of his that claimed they came out of an Masonic Lodge. This is all speculation, all I know is these are finely made hand crafted, hammered copper Arts& Crafts hanging lights. I can just imagine these hanging over a antique Arts& Crafts dining room table, or from the ceiling of an beautiful Arts& Crafts home. To get three lamps of this caliber that are identical is almost unheard of. What a beautiful contribution these lamps would make to any Arts& Crafts Mission collection. The lamps are made to appear to be oil lamps but I believe they were always electric. Because one of the main frames are hollowed out to accommodate the electric cord. We'll take a picture of the main beam that serves as a channel to accommodate the cord. It's possible the maker used some oil burning lamp parts to make it look that way, or is it possible they were first oil burning fixtures and then later converted to electric, I just don't know. PAIR AUTHENTIC EARLY VICTORIAN ANTIQUE CARRIAGE LAMPS Another quality item searched for with care by Jims Things This pair of authentic carriage lamps date from the mid nineteenth century and will make sensational candle lamps for either side of a large front door. They have a small bracket fixed to one side which originally would have held them to a post on the carriage but could still be used for holding them today with a little ingenuity. The tubular brass candle holders are fitted with bayonet fixings inside the lamp so that they can be locked into position after fitting them with candles over the long springs inside. Which held the candle top inside the lamp at the correct height. They have dents and marks to them where they have been gripped in the past to remove them. The rest of this pair of lamps are in excellent condition and have ... moreside windows that are on opposite sides to each and have their original bevelled glass windows. The backs of the lamps are hinged to fall in a downwards direction. Locking with a clasp at the top, and have small circular red glass windows with a brass border. The oval shaped front lenses are both surrounded with brass shades in very good condition and the insides have the original. Undamaged copper reflectors. We would think this is the original finish. These show their age. Burners are marked Eagle and P&A(Plume& Atwood) and have a fair amount of surface rust. No wicks. Hello. This"as found" pair of re-purposed chemist or pharmacist apothecary jars are beautiful. Look closely at all the pictures to see all the beautifully Hand Painted pink roses and gold banding. These would be great addition for most any Lady Doctor or Shrink's office decor. One jar once contained LIMAT: FERR: The other G: R: BENZOE believed to be a scented bark. The very heavy ornate brass bases are in wonderful condition. Jars are made of fine Porcelain. most likely France. French. I plugged them in and they both work fine. One lamp has a very long 20+ foot cord and the other has a 12-15 foot cord. No shades and No finials. The harps are on them. They could be tightened at the base but not necessary. Pair of Antique Miners Lamps
Not sure how old they are. Where they were manufactured. There are no markings other than the numbers 1626, 1157. On the glass however it says baccarat france with a glass and bottle. Not sure if this means the lanterns are french or the glass is french. I just don't know. I do know that having scanned through every ebay auction and several antique mining sites and lantern sites I have been unable to find anything quite like them. As for condition they seem to have been used a bit the constrction seems quite primitive to me. They are quite heavy and thick. the components seem to work. I.e. the little round thing does move and I can get one apart. The other I did not want to force to hard so could not open it. There are a couple small clamshell dings at the bottom base of glass but no cracks. These lights have been painted with automobile paint(about 20 years ago) AND are in great condition for their age. No broken parts. No chips, no broken glass on either one. We bought them at an estate sale over 20 years ago, painted them and then never used them. They are missing the wicks; the brass wick-turners turn freely. Inside has been repainted black with gray reflector paint. The kerosene storage pots can be turned right or left side for adjustment. Some Specifics: One lantern in 9 1/4" tall with'Brown' embossed on the top. The other is 9" tall with Ford(the logo in script) Model marked on the top along with Cin'i. O. USA underneath it- there is another ... moremarking above Ford that looks like'MAR 00" but we are not certain of this marking or what it means. Another top marking is not fully clear(may be Corcoran. I am offering a beautiful pair of lamps. That I know nothing about. I bought them at an antique shop many years ago, and I paid quite a lot for them. The shades are silk and in perfect condition and the lamps have no chips or imperfections. I feel that they are original and oriental, but I am not savvy about orientals. I cannot find any signatures. I did not mention the damage to the base of one of the lamps, thanks to a Labrador puppy, but the porcelain was not damaged. I don't know what type of battery it would have taken and haven't even attempted to replace it so I don't know if it works. We are pleased to offer this fantastic pair of Art Deco lamps. This antique(c1920s 1930s) pair feature glass bases with dual design cut glass. They include both a cut pattern of a traditional flower and a much more modern. Art Deco"chevron" The glass is cut on the under side with the top or exposed glass being smooth. The pair have very nice, slip on shades. The shades are wire frames with French waterfall styling. The waterfall shades currently house 12 crystal udrops each, but they can hold 18 udrops if you would want to add more. The lamps are petite in size but grand in design. They are in very good condition with very little signs of age. The lamps measure 11.5" tall. The bases are 4.5" in diameter and the shades are 6" in diameter with crystals attached.
