My understanding is that it was made in the 1910's- 20's for the mans wife. This is hand crafted one of a kind item. The background is green suede. The condition is very good shows very little if any wear the colors are still very bright. It measures apx 42" long and 21" wide. I used this on top of a Mission Style Oak Buffet. Large Old Antique Picture Frame Folk Art or Arts and Crafts or Eastlake
From estate. Hard to describe the type of decor of this item other than to say it is great. About 16 1/2 inches tall and 20 inches wide. The condition is very good. Only this item could get away with missing three out of four front finials. I took a picture of the top left corner and you will note that there is a wooden finial which comes out towards you so to speak. If you removed this one no one would notice the other three are missing. Otherwise the only condition issue is a small about 3/4 inch surface crack at the very top edge on the right. see photo) Not visible unless you look down on it. With beveled chamfered frames with inset panels in which the brass and copper alternate in a geometric mosaic. It has everything you look for in a great piece of old folk-art.wonderful imagary, original finish. There is a wire armiture that fits into the bottom of the box that is fitted with green velvet fabric, that acts as a liner when inserted. Lovely antique brass dolphin sculpture model trophy Folk Art, Arts & Crafts, oak
A large antique solid brass stylised dolphin sculpture. Mounted via a shaft to a brass plate on an oak base it is very reminiscent of Arts& Crafts styling. The thick brass dolphin is the same on both sides and there is the mark of where a plaque/cartouche was mounted on the base. Green baize to the underside. The approximate sizes are: 12cm high with the dolphin being 16.5cm long, the base being 28cm x 17cm. It is in very good antique condition with a lovely patination. Fabulous and unusual item. This antique table stand caught my eye. It is very uni que. I could not find what category to put it under. It is carved. Rough cut in some areas. Looks like a rooster/chicken bird of some sor t carved legs. Two of the screws look like the original. One newer one replaced. I do not know the age. Looks as though it had a design in the center of table. Cannot quite make out what it was. The tabl e legs are slightly wob bly. Not much. I did not tighten. did not want to damage it. The table stands 26" high. 15" diameter table top. Looks almost like Pa Dutch design flowers.tul ips on top of t able. I am not an expert w hen it comes to furniture. But I feel that this piece is worth something. Just have a gut feeling. I could be wrong. If you know more about the piece, than it is yours. Stain on wood is dark. Description On offer is a Beautiful Antique Inlaid Folk Art/ Arts& Crafts Bellows Carved with Corn Flowers dated 1893. It measures 11 3/8 inches(278mm) long. The leather on the top of the nozzle is badly worn. The bellows still work although the leather could do with feeding. There are a few small cracks where the handle is. And one lower down on the bottom edge, there is no movement just cosmetics mentioned just to be exact. If you would like any more information please ask. Pair Antique Machine Age Arts & Crafts Folk Art Brass & Iron Wire Candlesticks
This is a pair of antique machine age arts and crafts or folk art brass and iron wire candlesticks. These are so wonderful! But it's hard to give them a specific name. Are they arts and crafts. Machine age, folk art? Each category fits well to describe them. One stands 9 1/2 inches tall( 24.13 cm) and the other one is 9 3/4 inches tall(24.77 cm) The bases are 5 inches wide(12.7 cm) Together they weigh 1 lb. 8 oz. 680 grams) They are almost identical. Except if you look close up, one of them has a longer"wrap around wire coil" And it's also about one quarter inch taller than the other one. The other looks like it has a tighter"wrap around wire coil" The candle cups are made of brass and the rest is iron. One cup has a small crack in it. I'm sensing one is a man and one is a woman. Up for sale here is a vintage circa 1960s or earlier African carved wood sculpture depicting a Nude Seated Figure of a Woman. The sculpture measures just under 15 1/2 inches in height by 5 1/2 inches across by about 5 1/2 inches deep. There is no maker's mark or artist signature on the piece from what we can see. There does not appear to be any paint or finish on the work either it is just bare carved wood. The piece has some nice facial details and the extra carving on the boarder of the seat is a nice feature. For condition there is a split through the center of the face and through the leg of the chair. There is some minor natural handling wear and a few light scratches and nicks to the wood but not bad overall. We are not sure what region in Africa that this piece was made.
