An attractive antique blue and white tile A stenciled design of a central flower tree surrounded by a circular band and four flower motifs. One in each corner The style suggests an Arts& Crafts Aesthetic Movement period and the blue design is very'delft' blue Unmarked on the reverse. The tile is thin and has been mounted within a frame The top edge of the frame has come away from the glued edge and I have not replaced it in case you wanted to use is for some other purpose Still present it would not take much to simply glue it back in place Slight bumps to 3 corners on the reverse as shown. Very nice vintage circa 1930s tile top table. Spanish revival California. Table is wood with a large single tile. Light green background tile. The table top measures 16 inch wide. Table is 17 inch tall. Condition is good for age. Very light crack to small part of tile but is very stable and just have to look hard to see it. Royal Engineers Dutch ceramic tile from Deventer Liberation Committee 1945-1970
A Delft blue Dutch ceramic tile. Made to commemorate the liberation of Deventer in 1945. The tile was made in1970 by Plateelbakkerij Schoonhoven. And presented by the Deventer Liberation Committee to"their British guests" It bears the coat of arms of the Royal Engineers. And the town of Deventer, together with a picture of the Railway Bridge at Deventer(which was the target of Australian bombing raids during the war) This commemorative tile measures 6 inches square. Condition Good condition. But not quite perfect- there is a small chip halfway down the left-hand edge, as shown in the close-up picture. There is also some adhesive on the back. The Provence colors are rich and deep and I just love the wonderful clothing this gent has on! Not sure of the exact age of this unsigned piece.Please take a look at the other tile, which can be seen in the last photo.There are minor chips on the edge, only, of this tile, which is obviously not uncommon for a piece of this age! Other than that, this tile is perfect! Up for bid, is quite unique.Found at the Pierre Deux store many years ago, is one, in a set of two of a French, hand painted tiles.A one of a kind piece, the unknown artist of the antique tile, used rich, Provence shades.we see a woman, who is tending to her lamb.looks like she is sheering its coat.everything about this 6" square tile is just stunning.the small French print in the background is painstakingly done in a petite yellow and blue French print. Her French garb, facial expressions.all simply wonderful! Some of the edges have some minor chipping.other than that, it is perfection.use as a trivet, or incorporate in a backsplash along with the second tile.please take a look at that one as well! American Encaustic Tiling Co. Zanesville, OH 1875-1935 This vintage border tile has one curved or bullnose edge, which would have been used on the top row or side edge of an installation. It could very well have been made at their Los Angeles plant(1919-1933) but we're not 100% sure. It has a combination of glossy and matte glazes with a repeating geometric pattern. Measures 6" long x 3 3/4" wide x 3/8" thick. It ismissing one of the 22k gold glazed teardrop pieces in lower right of tile. Irina Lorin was Russian born and was educatedin Harbin. China. Her family was relocated to Harbin by Czar Nicholas II a yearbefore he was put to death. She was only 5 at that time. After coming to theUnited States she worked at Paramount Studios with Miss Edith Head and MadameKarinska. Irina was Head of Accessories for Paramount and worked on such famousfilms as Lady in the Dark, East of Eden, and several of the Bob Hope"Road" films. Later, she moved to NYC to work with Madame Karinska,designing costumes for the New York Ballet. At the same time, Salvador Dali wasdesigning ... moresets for the ballet. Gladding McBean. Los Angeles, CA 1890-1962 Four matte glaze colors cover the smooth surface of this thick, vintage GMB tile. A shield with two crossing skeleton keys is set on the diagonal and each corner has a leaf motif. Gladding McBean LA plant at College and Date Streets mainly produced architectural terra cotta, roofing tiles and decorative tiles using red clay. This tile is signed and measures 6" square x 3/4" thick. Minor corner wear; otherwise great condition.

Up for auction is a wonderful H& R Johnson Made in England blue and white tile that I found at a local estate sale. I purchased this item new from Mfg.this past March. I have used it about 10-12 times. It cosmetically has a fewissues that will not effect the operation. The unit is operating perfectly. 1.I ran over the cord and damaged the rubber but not the wiring. I covered itwith electrical tape. 2. The solution tank cap. A $5 item is missing. It doesnot effect the operation unless the tank is full to capacity and you wereto tip the unit. A small amt. of solution could drip out. 3. the handlecame from the mfg. with a hairline crack. I have used it without any incident.The handle would be about $25 if you ordered a new one. You'll find afterinspection and one use you won't have any need to replace it. Circa 1950's with heavy solid wrought iron frame and black and green& silver ceramic tiles. 19" tall. Table top is 9" across, the legs and side were painted silver at some point. probably not original! Tiles show some scratching and crazing and need some sort of cleaner. Grout on sides are missing grout, Still a solid piece! no loose tiles! They are mounted on a solid iron frame with everything welded together. Sound and solid. This is for the vintage set shown. Made in China as marked. This belonged to a woman in Brooklyn. New York and I believe is from the 1920s or 30s. Good vintage condition. The back piece is cracked and previously taped. The pieces are bamboo and wood. The outer case is a red wood with brass corners and decoration. The front piece slides up to get to the drawers. Besides the back, the top looks to have a split starting on the top, and one of the doors on the bottom is split and separating- all consistent with age. There is normal wear and usage marks. I don't know that much about this, so I can't say if anything is missing or not. Still great to use or collect. I purchased it at an estate sale a lifetime ago and it has proudly hung on one of my kitchen walls ever since. I have never seen one like this before. It features an adorable Black Mammy holding a her Thanksgiving Turkey platter! She measures approximately 17.0" across, at her widest points. The lady I purchased it from told me her husband was a tile salesman in the 1950s and this was a part of her husband's salesman's sample kit. The tile itself is mounted on a heavy. Heavy fiber type board and it is able to hang. It is in very nice shape considering its age, however, there are a few gouges in the upper portion of the tile(in the red section near the hanger) They are really hardly noticeable ... morehowever, I wanted to note them just the same. Since moving from the New York metro area to upstate New York I just can't pass up the oh so many barn. Church and estate sales and auctions up this way. I just can't resist rescuing all these fabulous finds and passing them on to a new home. I buy mostly vintage and antique girlie, crafting and household items. I was at an estate auction when I found an old junky cooler which had a bunch of fabulous cermaic/porcelain tiles in them. They are all older some being vintage and some are antique. There is quite a varied assortment. I will do my best to describe each. This pink features what appears to be transfer of a black swan next ot a lily pad. I have 2 large Oriantial Ceramic tiles with gold paint with 5 tiles each. It is made by Lenwile Ardalt Artware Japan. The frames are damaged on both and 1 tile is cracked.They are dirty in the picture but has been cleaned. The size is 34" X 10 1/2" Inches each. Please check out the picture before bidding.
