They are in a very good condition, we would say near mint, with only some very minor damages to the lace dress of the lady and the flowers of the gent, there is no damage to fingers of other issues, you can clearly see in the pictures, it is a stunning piece to add to your collection. c1900 Rare German Porcelain Grouping Rare! Larg e German porcelain grouping by fireplace! I have never seen this group before. And I' ve been dealing with German/Dresden figurals for 15yrs! Never have I seen this colorful and detailed model! The scene is set amongst a cozy fancy room with large fireplace with decorative centerpiece and urns. One woman is seated reading a book. A gentlem an is standing ne xt to her and speaking. Secretively. He is taking a letter f rom the woman seate d on the other side of the fireplace. From behind his back. The woman giving the gentleman the letter. Unfortunately has her one arm broken off, along with the ha ndle to the mandolin she's holding. The only other flaw is the lid to the centerpiece on the mantle has be en reglued. But this is minor and not noticed. The woman could be restored. And t he ... morepiece would be perfect! Vintage German Sitzendorf Porcelain. And by the marks on the bottom it is by the Voight Brothers, circa Germany 1884-1886. one of the older marks- The detail work is amazing, and the colors are vibrant, and outstanding. Very ornate, and exquisite- This makes a great centerpiece for the table as it is beautiful from all angles-This is two separate pieces which probably accounts for the reason the bowl has been repaired. Fortunately it was a clean break, and repaired professional by someone who used the correct glue, and did not paint over the repair which would have yellowed with age. It is a BEAUTIFUL piece. They are perched atop a colorfully painted oval mirror holding a garland of tiny sweet flowers. The piece is then finished of with lovely gold gilt highlights. It's a cute little cherub figuine dressed as a coal miner. ~ The base is marked with the cross slash mark in blue. Condition. All fingers and toes intact. The pick he holds has a small nick and the tree branch tops behind also. He stands roughly 5.25" tall. FYI: The history of porcelain production in Sitzendorf is hardly a straight-forward tale. The first porcelain manufactory in Sitzendorf was established by Georg Heinrich Macheleidt in 1760. Under the commission of prince Johann Friedrich of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt. In 1762 the manufactory was moved to Volkstedt by order of the prince. A second factory was opened by Wilhelm Liebmann in 1850, destroyed by a fire eight years later, and built up again in ... morethe following year. In 1884 the Sitzendorf porcelain factory, under the chairmanship of Alfred and Carl Wilhelm Voigt, began the production of lace"Dresden style" figurines. In 1890 another branch of the factory was opened in Unterweissbach, producing similar high-quality porcelain figures and figural groups. Throughout these periods, there existed two principal styles of Sitzendorf Porcelain Marks. Despite continual economic hardship fueled by wars and world economic depressions, and the failure of the Unterweissbach factory in 1928, the Sitzendorf porcelain factory continues to operate to this day. Sitzendorf porcelain marks seem to appear in two main styles: a stylized"S" beneath a crown ~ and a double slash- cross slash mark. I’ve described this item as accurately as I can. Figurine Up for sale is a beautiful antique Sitzendorf figurine. Circa fourth quarter of the 19th century. This figural grouping is outstanding and monumental in size. It features a lady on horse aided by a gentleman. The style of attire and colors are amazing. The quality is phenomenal. Everything is very well detailed. There are numerous flowers applied to the base, a horn, and I could go on. The figurine measures approximately 14 inches high and 13 inches wide. It is in great condition having no chips, cracks, or any other forms of damage, except for a few flaws. There is a stirrup missing. You can see a white mark on the lady's foot where it was once applied. It is hardly noticible and you would never know it was even supposed to be there unless you look really close. Pair Antique 19thC Sitzendorf Flower Encrusted Cherub Vases& Covers Offering for sale this fine pair of antique late nineteenth century Sitzendorf porcelain baluster shaped vases& covers which are each raised upon a pedestal base and have scrolled leaf-form handles. Each vase stands approx 11 inches high and measures 8.75 inches wide and has a winged putto/ cherub on either side. They are decorated on one side with a Watteauesque scene while on the opposite side is a floral bouquet. Each panel surrounded by encrusted delicate flowers& foliage. Each vase carries an under glaze blue factory mark together with painted numerals. With regards to condition on the one vase there is a small chip to the toes of one of the putti and there is a chip to the tip of one of the handles. There is also a small chip to the inner rim of the base ... moretogether with a couple of tiny grazes to the edge of the foot. On the second vase one of the putti has had a repair to one of it's wings. Both vases show some minor wear to the gilding and there are some chips& losses to the encrusted flowers& foliage but overall these have remained intact. There are no other chips. Cracks or repairs and no restoration. The unpacked weight of this pair is 2800 grams so International Buyers please email me for a shipping quote!
