Superb Antique Japanese Pewter Tea Caddy Spoon 1930s
Here on offer is a superb antique Japanese pewter tea caddy spoon. Dating to the 1930s. The tea caddy spoon has a wonderful short broad handle with gorgeous embossed designs. One side has a lovely butterfly floating above a branch. The reverse has a song bird sat on a branch. Both designs are framed by intricately patterned borders. The scoop has been left plain. The pewter has a deep rich age related patination. This great tea caddy spoon is being offered in good antique condition. It measures about 7.7cm by 2.9cm and weighs 17g. Antique Art Nouveau WMF Pewter Easel Mirror 21" Tall Being offered is a beautiful reproduction of an antique. Pewter easel mirror made by the German company WMF in the late 1890s to the early 1900s. I believe it was designed by the famous Albert Mayer, who was appointed the head of the studio in 1894. Mayer specialized in designs of beautiful maidens with flowing hair in graceful postures. This mirror is sturdy. Yet delicate in appearance, and made to last. The mirror is imprinted on the back with the WMF stamp. The craftmanship is elegant. There are a few nicks in the pewter and the mirror(which is thick) has a chip. But overall the condition is wonderful(see photos) There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs. Circa 1830 and New England in origin. Lamp is 4 3/4" high with a 2 7/8" diameter base, and it has an old paper label with a 1971 collection date on it. The patina is old and original, and the lamp is untouched and just in need of a burner replacement, if you have one. Nice coffee pot. Very simple design. I think it is pewter or an alloy of silver. Th mark on the bottom is 10/8 in a circle, and a large L. It has, what looks like an animal above that, I can't tell if it is a loin, bird or another animal. If anyone recognizes it let me know.I don't think it is silverplate. It is about 9.5" x 8" and has one shallow.25" dent. In good used condition.
