Antique Bradley & Hubbard Ornate Cast Iron Bronzed Bacchus Mirror Frame
Antique ornate cast iron bronzed mirror frame depicting the head of the Greek God Bacchus. The rest of the frame is a tremendous amount of work in the Art Nouveau style. This has the original formed tin sheet that is the backing to hold the mirror in the frame. There is no mirror. A replacement will be required and can be acquired at any glass and mirror shop in almost all towns and cities. They are inexpensive. This is marked B&H, and has a bronze ring to hang it with. Manufactured around 1870. It is almost identical to an easel bronze Bacchus bronze mirror frame I have listed as well. But the easel mirror frame is not marked. Both were acquired from the same estate and they were used as a set, one on a parlour table, the other hanging above it. The two bottom corners of this piece have no feet as does the easel frame, and less flourish ... moreon these two corners. It is impossible to tell if this was manufactured this way as part of this set, or if an early owner had it customized this way to hang above the easel frame in my other listing. NO RESERVE - Bradley & Hubbard Parlor or Banquet Lamp with Dragons B & H
Selling with no reserve is a wonderful Bradley& Hubbard Banquet Lamp with dragon handles. This is a fairly large and impressive lamp. The Lamp stands 21" to the top of the class globe(not to the top of the chimney) 13" at its widest(the dragon handles) and 13 1/2" to the top of the socket. The Lamp has been electrified, obviously some time ago. The cloth cord cover has worn off a lot of the cord but the covering to the wires seems good. The lamp does work. The oil font has an opening made for the wire(see picture 1 1) so it could not be easily converted back to oil. The glass chimney is a replacement. The unusual painte d glass globe is approximately 9 1/2" in diameter. I see no cracks or damage to the globe. To my eye the glo be seems old and it is the globe that came with the lamp when I bought it. Original 1920's slag glass shade in great condition. Must be made of spelter because a magnet doesn't stick to it. Has a dark brown bronze type finish. There are no breaks or repairs to the metal portion of the shade. The slag glass is a light shade of purple streaked into a white background and has no cracks or hairlines. You can see that the glass has a couple of jagged edges but the edges do not show from the outside and were done when the glass was cut. There is one tab missing. Each tab has 2 prongs and one other tab has one prong missing. This shade is a 13" diameter. Note that in some of the pictures. The panels look white. Up for no reserve auction is a set of 3 Antique slag glass panel lamp shades. The round shade has no cracked panels. It is approximately 9.5" tall. 8" diameter at the top and 3.25" at the bottom fitter. The square overlay shade with flowers has 4 panels which are all in good condition. It looks like 2 were replaced at some time. It measures 7" tall, 6" across the top and 5.25" across the bottom. The tall square shade is guaranteed to be Bradley& Hubbard. It is signed on one of the bottom clips holding the glass"Pat'd Oct 20 08" It has 4 amber panels and 4 green panels. My guess is that the glass was replaced in this. Also, as you can see in the last picture, there is some damage to the filigree. I posted nice, large pictures of all the shades. This antique base is not si gned but I have seen it on Bradley and Hubbard lamps so I have listed it as such. It is primarily made of pot mteal with a br ass stem and steel socket cluster. All are painted in a bronze col ored finish with gilt highlights. The paint has some chipping and could use some restor ation. Other than that this base is in fine condition. It is not cracked bent or broken in any way. It is 20" tall and measures 8 1/2"across the widest dimension of the bottom. T he top of the socket cluster measures 1 3/4" It weighs 5 3/4 pounds. Antique Signed Brass Bradley & Hubbard Desktop Pen Tray; Curved Footed Holder
Up for bids we offer an antique brass pen tray in very good condition. Signed on the bottom with the well-known Bradley& Hubbard insignia. This curved tray has ornate border detail cast right into the brass. It's a footed tray that was kept on a desktop that provided a place to set an ink pen on to help keep the workspace clean and organized. It measures 8 inches long, 3 inches wide and about 1/2 inch high. Highly reflective and not the easiest item to photograph, some pictures shown were take in natural light and others with a flash, which is why there is some variation in color in the photos. The tray has some small age-related blemishes but as you can see, it's a lovely, old, decorative piece. Right out of an estate this week, it's a nice find that we offer up for bids without reserve. i have for auction this supercool signed b and h wall mount sconce. where do i find these great things? its like magic isnt it. it is in mint condition. no broken or missing tabs. No cracked, broken, or missing glass-glass all original, no broken, cracked, or missing filligree or metalware, no metalware seam separation. all that and it has a great, not frogskin but same green color, patina. it even has its original socket which i assume to be harvey hubbell as b and h used them alot. its wall mount hanging height would be 12 and 1/2 inches. if you chose to hang this from a ceiling, the total drop height would be 16 and 1/2 inches. folks it doesnt get any better than this other than i am selling it without reserve to the highest ebay bidder. please check out my other ebay lighting auctions as i have some really great stuff up for sale this ... moretime around. thanks for looking. bidders please remember that i am selling antiques and that there should be a degree of expectation on your part in knowing that there will be normal aging and minor imperfections towards an item that is 75 to 100 years old. chances are if there arent any. The piece is about 5" wide by 6.5" tall and 2.5" deep, being the larger piece made by B&H it is harder to come by. Some of the original felt is still on the bottom. In good used condition with patina and some signs of age and use. The metal looks to be a brass or bronze color with the weight of cast iron. I'm told these were cast iron pieces. For sale is an antique Mantel Clock with a Cast Iron Front. I believe the metal front to be made by Bradley and Hubbard but it is not marked. Front has Mother of Pearl inlays has pictured. Paint on the front is faded in spots and has a crackled appearance. The movement is marked New Haven. Does not come with a key. I did have a key to wind it and it ran for several hours and then stopped. Probably has not been serviced in many years, there was some dust in places on the movement. Probably will need to be looked at/lubricated to keep good time. Partial Paper label on back of the case but not readable. Cast iron front screws on to the wooden case. Offered as is as found is a monumental slag glass lamp with lion paw base. This is a perfect display for any mission arts crafts decor. Its an impressive lamp. The lamp features 8 panels of granite slag glass all of which is original along with the lamp and shade maintaining original finish which is in beautiful condition. The sockets have been replaced at some point in its life. The lamp shows wear typical of age and use. But as you can see this is a huge and massive lamp which displays beautifully. There is a tiny piece of edge trim missing along with another scalloped piece bent as shown. Very easily addressed if you felt the need, but in no way detract from the lamp. The roping is very similar to that of older Tiffany& Riviere Studio lamps. The roping wraps around what looks to be three coins. It is marked B& H inside the base, hard to see in picture# 11. Nice size measuring 21" in height, with the base measuring 7" at it's widest, it has 10" fitter for the shade. The socket is an original Hubbell with it's acorn pull chain. It has been recently rewired and works fine. It has a 10" milk glass shade and the shade holder locks into the lamp with a small latch. The condition is excellent for it's age. The hand painted globe was painted by artist Mike Elza and is 10 1/4" in diameter and 11" tall. The lamp and globe together measure 29" tall. I do not have a glass chimney for the lamp but they can be very easily and conservatively purchased at any hardware store. There are no chips or cracks or damage to the globe. Am not sure if this might be a cigarette holder. The metal frame and lid is brass and both pieces are signed Bradley and Hubbard. The lid does have initials but I could not make them out. The metal frame is 4 1/2" high with four ribs that sit on ball feet. The frame is 5 1/2" wide. The glass insert is 4 1/4" wide and 5" high. The brass would shine if polished. Antique B& H table desk lamp signed on the bottom B&H along with a"78. The lamp is about 17 3/4 tall to the top of the 10" shade ring holder. Shade ring holder has some wear- could possible use some cleaning. Very nice antique patina overall. The socket is a Bryant Acorn Pull and is dated November 1907. I believe the lamp is brass with the exception of the black metal base. Wiring seems to be in excellent condition and the lamp works fine. The shade that accompanies the lamp is a reverse painted glass shade with a deer scene. Two very small and insignificant chips on the inside rim of the shade which cannot been seen when the shade rests in the shade ring. Otherwise. The shade is in excellent condition. Here we have a real nice signed Bradley and Hubbard lamp. The lamp is in excellent original condition no damage what so ever. The 5 panels of glass are in perfect original condition with a acorn and leaf overlay. The patina is excellent on the base and shade and original. The base is signed twice on the bottom and up by the Sockets on the shaft. The shade is also signed. Has the original sockets and the lamp has been rewired. A lamp doesn't get much cleaner than this. The stock market up, and consumer confidence up as well, i thought i would list some of my better lamps that i have been holding on to for the past couple of years. this is one of them. i have for auction this very nice bradley and hubbard leaded lamp. this is an exceptional lamp folks and it has my favorite b and h base to it. i love the arts and crafts look and molded form to the base. the base very very strong as is the appearance and it comes with the harder to find four socket cluster. the base measures 24 inches tall so its a bigger than average base and its quite heavy and the shade measures 18 and 1/2 inches wide-this is a big lamp. the base recently rewired with period style cloth and braided cord-the best cord possible for a period 1910-1925 lamp and all four sockets working and pulling nicely. there ... moreis no metal damage to speak of at all and the base signed underneath the base plate. the shade in fantastic color and condition. no loose glass segments and the leading in excellent patina and without any losses or weak spots. simply an all around great b and h lamp that i am selling without reserve to the highest bidder here on ebay. thanks for looking and please check out my other lighting that i have for sale. bidders please remember that i am selling antiques and that there should be a degree of expectation on your part in knowing that there will be normal aging and minor imperfections towards an item that is 75 to 100 years old. chances are if there arent any. For your consideration is a vintage signed Bradley and Hubbard slag glass lamp. This is a beautiful old piece with green and caramel panels all original glass. The overlay is all intact and beautiful. The base has desirable urn design and is weighted for stability. The lamp has two panels that are present and free of damage. But the tacks came loose and I removed them for safety. These will need to be tacked to stabilize them and this is a very very minor repair for such a stunning old piece. Have shown dings on lamp with photos shown with pen.
