The clock generally works for 20-30 min and stops. It sometimes continues to work for a while. It also stops if you pick it up and handle it. There is a crack on a back side as depicted in the picture. But I think at some point someone switched front with back.

Antique ship clock Steam Punk Clock Nautical clock heavy brass repro French dial
For sale is a beautiful authentic solid aluminum and brass Vintage French Cafe Clock. Ships clock, nautical clock, steam punk clock. The case is made of heavy cast aluminum, 3/16" thick. It is painted in a matte black finish. The 11" solid cast brass bezel holds a glass lens which is held in place with a steel ring clip, not glue. The clock measures 3 1/2' from wall. The bezel is attached on one side with a heavy hinge, and is released on the other by a heavy brass thumbscrew. The vintage French Restaurant dial is laminated to a wood substrate and fixed to the case with three screws. The clock weighs in at just under 6 lbs. See the photos. The hands are painted steel. Nice Antique French Brass Carriage Clock in Case R & C Paris (Restoration) c1880
This nice antique carriage clock was manufactured by R& C of Paris. France. The brass clock measures 4-3/8" tall(not including the handle) x 3-1/4" wide x 2-1/2" deep. The brass casing is in good undamaged condition and none of the beveled glass panels are damaged. The main winding port just spins around with no resistance(unable to wind) The smaller winding port does not turn. The hand changing port works fine. The face appears to be enamel with Roman numerals. The seconds finger is missing. It comes with its original key and wooden case(the case is a little beaten) Certainly worth restoration and most definitely needs a good clean. The underside has a round bell like dome. One side glass has a small nick in the upper corner, obscured by the decorative column, virtually invisible and this is the only flaw to the clock that I can find. This is yet another one of my clocks that I have been debating with myself if I really want to sell it- I normally prefer Grande Sonnerie carriage clocks to simple repeaters, but this one is just ... moreso outstanding. Pictures speak for themselves(although no pictures can do justice to this particular clock) but do let me know if you have any additional questions. ANTIQUE FRENCH CLOCK STAND/BASE w/ GARNITURE Antique French clock base/stand with two candle holders. The main piece is approx 5 1/4 lbs. 9" wide, 14 1/2" tall and 5" deep. The opening for the clock is approx 3 1/2" The candle holders are approx 2.5 lbs each. 4" wide, 12" tall and 4 1/4" deep. All three pieces are decorated with porcelain. I was told this is French from the 19th century. It was obviously painted/ re-coated since then. I don't see anything missing or broken on any of the three pieces. I know little about vintage clocks. The movement sits tightly in the porcelain with no back door and no mount to secure it, this would also have to be rectified. Unlike many materials, has the ability to change with the light. This wonderful clock shows off that ability beautifully aided by the superb gilt decoration. The opalescent colour is similar to"Kendal mintcake" Almost see-through but not quite, with wispy milk-coloured clouds swirling through. Standing on a shaped base, the strong lines of the waist lead to the gently domed top. Onto this lovely backdrop are fitted the superb gilded decoration along with the two beautiful winged angels, holding aloft the laurels of victory. All the gilding is original and rich. The centre cabochon is of a wonderful red stone. The creamy porcelain dial sits easily within the stunning case. The ... moregilt surround decorated with"egg and dart" moulding, while the dial has crisp, clear numerals and ornate hands. Inside the clock is a quality French 8 day pendulum movement. Complete with its original numbered pendulum. It has a gentle, unobtrusive tick and keeps very good time(this is a timepiece, so there is no chime) It stands 13 inches high, 8 1/2 inches wide and just 5 inches deep. Condition: alabaster is notoriously"soft" And although this clock has a few minor marks, nothing that detracts from the overall effect. Antique French carriage clock. Key & travel case. Restored/serviced May 2013.
This good quality carriage clock(manufactured in C 1890 by A.C.C. is in outstanding original condition. I finished restoring/servicing it at the end of May 2013 and it is now in full working order. Tucked away in the travel case when I acquired it. Was a 55 year old repair bill for £9.10.0d- which comes with the clock. I believe that my service was the first the clock has had since then! The clock is t he standard size: Height with handle folded down 4 3/4 inches(12 cms) Width 3 inches(7.5 cms) Depth 2 3/4 inches(7 cms) CLOCK CASE: The solid brass case is in really good original condition. I dismantled. Cleaned and polished it and, rather than lacquering, gave it a coating of special wax polish. It now has a durable and attractive antique patina which should last for years and make it easier to clean in future. The clock still has its original brass base masking plate. The clock has clearly been well cared for in the past- all the screws are in unusually good condition. MOVEMENT: The heavy brass movement is also in good original condition. It has"A.C.C" inscribed on the contrate wheel cock on the back plate. All the back plate screws have been beautifully blued(not by me) I completely dismantled the movement and. After checking it for wear, cleaned, polished and oiled it. It should give good service now for years before needing another service. ESCAPEMENT: I also dismantled. Cleaned and oiled the original brass 7-jewelled cylinder escapement which is visible through the oval top glass. It works well with very good amplitude. The clock keeps good time. DIAL: The white enamel-on-copper dial is original and in perfect condition. The bold roman numerals on the chapter ring are crystal clear and really stand out. A beautiful French mantle clock. Circa 1890. Constructed of good quality black slate and rose marble, with intricate etchings in all four corners and along bottom front face. Has some minor imperfections. see photos) Quality glass housed in a detailed, recessed, brass bezel. Winding mechanisms found on back of clock. Face of clock has symbol of an eagle perched above an"FMS" symbol. Appears to be not in working condition. Height is 7.5 inches to top of marble, 13 inches to top of ornamental brass detail) width is 6.5 inches, and depth is 3.5 inches. Would make a beautiful show piece on top of mantle or shelf.
