Most of the crystals came with the chandelier the 2 top layers were replaced as the once that came with the chandelier were totally broken or badly chipped, the smallest crystal is 3.5" high, all of the huge once are the once that came with the chandelier including the super large bottom crystal ball, we removed and cleaned them all, the pins were changed as the old once were brittle, some of the old crystals have scratches and some nicks but hard to detect when the chandelier is hanging, the bobeches on the top arms are marked( baccarat) original aged dark bronze patina, 12 arms, 12 light, the center columns were all replaced as the old once were all chipped, this chandelier is in overall beautiful condition for the age, it came with a short chain but no canopy, we will try to find a canopy that close matches and include it with your purchase, wiring is all in working condition, we took many close up pictures from all different angles for you to see. They are in the form of a bow with trailing ribbons with a curved fluted arm holding pretty crimped and frilled glass lampshades that have a lovely soft peachy tint around the bottom. The gilt bronze has a wonderful warm aged finish which could be polished brighter if required. Both the shades are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. They have been re-wired at some time and are in good working order. There are two screw holes on the rear of each sconce for wall fixing and they measure 9 ins in height and stand out from the wall 9 ins. And the bows are just over 4 ins wide. They sit on white marble bases that have a bronze ring on the corner.They are in great condition but are a little dusty and there is some gilt wear to both. They were wired for electric years ago and done with much care as to not drill the cherub bodies. Just one hole on each bobeche. The wiring is in good shape and there is a turn on/off switch on the line. They stand 22 1/2" tall to the top of the electric candle socket and 19" to the bronze socket and they are quite heavy. Circa 1870’s, French Sevres hand painted porcelain covered urn with gilt bronze mounts. The urn measures 17 inches or 43 cm high to the top of the finial on the cover. And is 5 inches or 12.5 cm at its widest. The covered urn is tall and beautiful; it has a pastel pink ground with a hand painted cartouche at the front and back. At the front is ... morean intimate scene of a mother and her son sitting on the side of a creek. She lovingly rests her hand on his head as he plays her a tune on his flute. The piece is signed on the lower right“DAM” At the back is a large and colorful floral bouquet. The both the cover and body are decorated with heavy applied gold. The covers also have elegant hand painted scenes. The urns have gilt bronze ram’s head handles holding wreaths in their mouths. The bronze has a gilt gold patina or color which is all original to the pieces. The top of the lids are marked with a Sevres mark with a triangle inside it. Below it is“S41 FRANCE” The condition overall is good. There is an old hairline in the lid which has been repaired at some point in its life, the rest of the porcelain is in excellent condition. The gilt bronze patina has darkened somewhat with age. And there is minor age appropriate wear to the heavy applied gold. His pieces have become very sought after and have been presented at many pregitious auction houses including Sotheby’s and Christie’s. This Bronze double ink well desk piece measures 14 1/4" x 7 1/2" and weights over 11 lbs. The glass inserts are still in wells. It deplicts a bacchanel wind god covered by leaves and grapes blowing out wind. When taking the measurements I felt a little uneveness on the corder side of wood and have indicated that in my pics. The matching tray measures 11" x 2 3/4" and weight a bit over 1/2 lbs. Maradeuse” by Francois Moreau" c1890-1905– red marble garniture case: dated between 1890 and 1905. It includes the key. A beautiful bronze 15” finial of a peasant girl holding a basket of fruit. The figure is incorporated with marble node& stand. The clock has a beveled glass door. The clock face appears to be reversed painted numerals on glass. The finial has a metal name tag with the inscription: MARADEUSE" Par Francois Moreau. The maker's mark. Louis Moreau is incised on the statue at the base, L&F Moreau” in script. France is incised on the back of the statue. The metal portion is spelter with the original gilded surface still very much intact with the exception of a small ... morearea on the girl’s wrist. Photo provided. This is a large clock standing roughly 22-1/2" tall. 13" wide, 8" deep. We will safely remove the pendulum in transit. CONDITION: The figure is intact. No breaks or repairs. The marble is very clean. Bright and beautiful. No chips, cracks or repairs. The clock works and keeps good time and the chimes work. However. The minute hand needs to be switched. It chimes once at the full hour and the full chime rings at the half hour. For instance, at 4:30 it will chime 5 times then at 5:00, it will chime only once. The figure will turn and twist on the case and needs to be tightened. The legs also need to be tightened as they wobble. They are still intact and strong enough to hold the clock firmly. A very beautiful antique Gilt Bronze Jewelry Box. The box is decorated with a hand painted Limoges Enamel Plaque depicting a beautiful woman. The portrait is depicts Jean-Jacques Henner's image of Saint Fabiola. The original painting was painted in 1885. The plaque is signed"TR" HR" or something similar. The plaque is surrounded with tiny seed pearls and the interior has the original velvet lining. Overall dimensions are 4" x 2 3/4" x 1 5/8" high. It will date to the late 1800s, it came to me through a house clearance here in the South of France, as you can see in my photo's, this chandelier is for candles, as it was originally, in approx the 1920s/1930s it was wired for electricity, but this wiring was so old and distressed. It literally d i solved in my hands. So it has been removed and put back to its original state, I still have some of the old bulb holders and faux candles from the 1920s. I have for auction this stunning french glass pendant light with a gilt bronze fitting. It will date to the 1920s, it was found in a house clearance here in the South of France. Here is an extremely rare miniature French clock in a"La Belle et le Paysan" pattern. As inspired by 18th Century toile. The case is deliberately flat in design so that the balance of the figures and rococo elements is emphasized. And stands on a 3-legged rococo base. This clock is signed on the dial"Planchon a Paris" Planchon is a well known 19th Century maker of superior French clocks with high-style cases. This clock is 14 inches high. The dial is only 1 3/8 inches in diameter. The case is in original condition. And its surface retains much of the original gilt finish. The movement is beautifully made and finished. As would be expected of a famous Paris maker. The lever escapement platform looks to be in excellent working condition. The movement works for a short period. Mid 19th C French Ruby Red Palais Royal Perfume Casket With Bronze Ormolu Mounts
You are bidding on an exquisite Palais Royal French ruby red perfume box or casket with the original square form perfume bottles. The casket has beautiful gilt bronze ormolu mounts& the perfume bottles have ground glass stoppers as well as gilt bronze lidded caps. The bottles sit in a gilt twisted wire frame basket which keeps the bottles suspended in the casket. The box appears to be complete with its original key& swivel handles. The square form casket is made of a very heavy ruby glass& the perfume bottles look to be hand blown with ground pontil bases. The quality& thickness of the glass indicates that this might be a Baccarat casket& we believe it dates to the mid 1800's. The casket is not marked in any way but early Baccarat was only marked with a paper label& the company relied on the quality of their products ... moreto speak for itself& thus did not need any identifying marks. The casket measures about 4 1/2" x 2 7/8" stands about 4 5/8" tall. The condition is very good. There are some small air bubble inclusions in the glass& a small imperfection on the front of the lid where one of these bubbles has been ground through. The gold gilding has worn through on the more exposed parts of the ormolu but the internal gilding is in very fine condition. The glass stopper of one of the perfume bottles is stuck with residue from whatever perfume was left in the bottle. Although the key does turn, the internal iron mechanism of the lock no longer secures the lid. There are also some minor surface scratches to the casket with the worst ones on the base. Here on offer is a stylish antique French art deco bronze dear and marble table lamp. Dating to the 1920s to 1930s. This gorgeous table lamp was purchased many years ago in a Parisian antique market. The marble base is a beautiful soft pink colour. The dear is beautifully modelled in bronze with a strong dynamic quality that is typical of the art deco period. Sadly the antlers are damaged and there is an area of damage on the deers side. Please see the photos. It stands securely on the base. The lamp and shade support are almost certainly the original. But the cable is a later replacement and is wired for use in France, the plug fitting is continental. I would strongly recommend that an electrician inspects the light before use. Antique E Jullien/Paris (1880-1900) French Gilt Bronze Tray/Dish/Valet
This is a beautiful antique french gilt bronze that was made by the E Jullien Foundry in Paris between the years of 1880 and 1900. The foundry was only active then. There is a mark engraved on the bottom that says"E Jullien/Paris/12 Rue Pasquier. I have already mentioned the flaws- the gilt is missing from most of the woman's body. There are some nicks and scratches, but it is still very beautiful. I find especially charming the fact that the woman's hair goes down the side of the dish, and you can also see her arm resting there from the side. I am selling this for a friend(this belonged to her aunt) And neither of us know anything about antiques, but I did look up the foundry and found some very good prices for the objects made there. Bronze French War Medal - WWII - Liberation of France 1939-1945
Authentic WWII bronze medal reads Republique Francais Guerre 1939- 1945; this is the Liberation of France medal. About 1 1/8 inches long, awarded to those French and Allied forces who were instrumental in the liberation from the Nazis. It has the Gallic Rooster, or le coq gaulois, which is a symbol of France; the cock is standing over an image of the Cross of Lorraine, a two-barred cross which symbolized the free French forces of WWII, and the liberation of France from Nazi Germany. It was awarded to Americans also, so this could have belonged to an American serviceman. Civilians who helped or were bombarded also were awarded the medal in 1947. The medal itself is in great condition; the ribbon has been torn or cut on top. It no longer has a pin. You could probably fix this or replace the ribbon. We can see a predominant Art Nouveau theme with Louis XVI elements. It originally had a central gas lamp and two additional lamps at each end. The gas lamps are now converted to hold electric bulbs. This is a counterweighted lamp: the center section can be extended/retracted with a chain and pulley system. This system works as it should except the chains could be longer. The bronzework on this chandelier is excellent. With high quality construction and nicely done details. It is nicely patinated to a medium bronze color and we did not attempt any restoration or polishing. The wiring and sockets are old and in poor condition and must be replaced before use.
