GERMAN DRESDEN FLORAL ENCRUSTED COMPOTE & CHERUBS BY CARL THIEME MEISSEN STYLE
Presented for Auction: A rare and absolutely beautiful late 1800's compote featuring a reticulated bowl with applied florets and fruit atop a columnar pedestal with two clinging cherubs and applied florets. The column base also features reticulation. Although this item is in the style generally associated with Meissen porcelain. This piece features the mark of Carl Thieme Porcelain of Saxonian Dresden in Germany. This unique piece stands 14-1/2 inches in height and the oval bowl measures a maximum length of 11 inches by a maximum width of 10 inches. In addition to the applied florets and fruit on the exterior of the bowl, both the exterior and interior are also decorated with gilded highlights and painted floral expressions. The florets, fruit, painted expressions and cherubs are of beautiful and delicate hues of pinks reds, greens, and ... morepurple/wine colors. The base color of the bowl and pedestal are of a milky white hue. The underside of the base includes the blue stamped"X" with the T above it. The incised numbers 2819 are near the hallmark with a horizontal elongated"o" above the number 8. I would assume that this number is a mold number. According to Kovels' New Dictionary of Marks. The hallmark on this compote was used by Thieme company from 1888 until 1901. Therefore. It is safe to say that the Dresden piece is at least a minimum of 110 years old. This item is from the estate of a recently deceased 90 year old widow. The executor of the estate has asked me to place this item on eBay for auction transaction. Condition: Like most examples of delicate applied florets. Fruits and figures, this item has it share of small dings or missing petals, partial hands or missing fingers. I will not attempt to call out each and every ding or missing finger as I know that I would surely miss a"call out' and I do not want to mislead anyone on the condition. Ernst Bohne Sohne- EBS Rudolstadt Germany Boy& Girl Dresden Figurine Anchor You are bidding on a beautiful pair(Boy& Girl) of Rudolstadt/ Dresden figurines by Ernst Bohne Sohne. Circa 1880, that are both handpainted in pastel blue colors. The figurines are 5 1/2 inches tall and are in excellent condition. The boy is holding a canvas and painting a bird while the girl is looking over her shoulder. The markings on the boy are hard to distinguish as it looks like EBS impressed, but the girl has the EBS Blue anchor under glaze and EBS impressed(more clearly) and the number 494. These are rare examples of EBS figurines, as I have only seen the girl once before and she sold for over $160. They would make an excellent addition to any porcelain collection. Two very attractive teabowls marked Dresden with a crown in blue. They are each handpainted with different posies of summer flowers with sprigs around the sides and in the centre of the bowls. There is a gilded edge and border and the gilt is unworn. One bowl is perfect. The other has a hairline crack running around the middle through the flowers. This is very hard to see and does not show at all when the bowls are displayed. In one family for the past 80 years. Height 2 inches. Diameter 3 and a quarter inches.

This is an incredible vintage arts and crafts pottery vase by Weller Pottery from its Dresden Line done and signed by Levi Burgess. The vase is beautiful and depicts a landscape with a series of 5 windmills(in varying sizes) in the background with what looks like a Danish Woman walking(it appears she is wearing wooden shoes) There may also be some ships in the distant background with billows of smoke above them. The vase stands about 9" tall and is widest at base at about 5" wide. The matte artistry glaze colors are beautiful: muted blue and turquoise and grey and faint green and white. The condition of this piece for its age is quite nice as this is one of Weller's earliest lines. There are no chips. Cracks, hairlines or repairs. Antique Dresden small demitasse cup and saucer. Hand painted.
All reasonable offers considered. This is a delicate and curvy beauty. The outside of the cup includes a lovely bouquet of flowers as well as randomly placed individual flowers. The gilded handle curves up above the rim and circles back in on itself. The gilding extends onto the inside rim of the cup. With two bands of gilding at the base of the cup. The saucer carries the same gilded design around its rim. A bouquet of flowers dominate the center of the saucer while a couple of individual flowers accent the outer rim. The cup measures 2 inches(5 cm) across and is 2 inches(5 cm) tall. The saucer measures 3¾ inches across(9.5 cm) Both carry a Dresden mark of crossed swords with an“S” at the top. I have not been able to identify the artist. The mark is very close to that used by the Grossbaum& Sons. I believe that this piece dates ... morefrom the late 1800’s. Early 1900’s. All reasonable offers will be considered. I love the shape of this vase. At least I believe it is a vase. Because of the way the inside of the rim is finished. I suspect that this piece may have had a lid at one time, which would mean it was a jar and not a vase. But I have no way of knowing for sure and it certainly can be used as a vase. The vase gradually curves out and then. Towards the bottom it curves back in. It offers four unique flower motifs. From the top. Each motif stars with gilding, followed by a swag of colorful flowers. Below each swag is a delicate. Colorful bouquet of flowers. Below each bouquet. On the part of the vase that curves in and under, is another flower display. Each of the four motifs is separated by a gilded design. The porcelain is raised in the center of this design and topped with dots of gilding. The vase ... moremeasures 5 inches(12.7 cm) tall by 4 inches(10.2 cm) across. It is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or signs of crazing and only very minor wear in some of the gilding at the very top edge. This piece carries the mark of Helena Wolfsohn used from 1886 to 1940. Pretty Dresden with the porcelain lacy skirt with roses from MZ Volkstedt Germany. She stands 5 1/2" tall. Her hands and fingers are all in tact but her skirt has damage. Schumann Dresden oblong reticulated bowl. Empress porcelain, great condition. Offered today is a gorgeous reticulated Dresden bowl by Schumann. The dimensions are 12" long. 7 3/4" wide and approx. 2 1/2" tall. The condition is very good, no scratches or flakes. Slight gold rub on very rim. There is a chip on the inner rim, underneath the bowl. It is not visible unless the bowl is upside down. I think this piece could be dated to the early 1900's. This lovely three piece. Cup, saucer and dessert plate are from my personal collection. The markings on the bottoms are Hutschenreuther. Dresden. Germany. The ivory colored background is embossed with a charming pattern. Miniature flowers adorn the cup. Saucer and dessert plate. A sweet rose bouquet is painted in the center of the dessert plate. The set has always been on display. The cup measures 2" tall x 3 3/4" in diameter. The saucer is 5 1/2" in diameter. The dessert plate is 7 1/2" in diameter. The three pieces are trimmed in gold. Mint condition. Ours is a smoke free home.

Gorgeous Hard-To-Find Richard Ginori Italy Dresden Flowers 8” Square Candy Dish. This lovely dish is beautifully decorated with a Colorful Floral Bouquet in the center surrounded by small Sprigs of Flowers at its four corners. It is edged with Gilding along an Octagonal Scalloped Body Shape with Basketweave motif along the sides. The Dish is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or wear. Just some very minor wear to the Gilding and a teeny, teeny manufacturing dimple in the center white flower- none of this being readily visible unless looking closely. 1 ¼” in height.
