The carving is elegant and lively out of a heavy block of rosewood. The aged wood has a great patina. Such type of old fishermen statue carvings were very popular in the coastal areas of southern and southeastern China, and its tradition carried far throughout southeast Asia in various versions. It is currently running and working as it should. This is a rare color and not seen that often. The clock itself measures 10" wide by 14" tall. It has a split in the wood and looks like someone used some hot glue to fix it on one section. It can probably be fixed with wood glue and the seam will look invisible. Its an easy fix. Estate Sale Find- Light Wood Hubert Herr Triberg Germany Black Forest Cockoo Clock- oiled clock at it's pivot points to restore it to working condition. Cockoo clock has some vintage wear- wood is yellowing in spots and paint is rubbing off a little on edges. Cockoo bird chirps once on the half hour and on each hour as many times as the hour. Two pinecone weights to power the bellows and the time. Small chip in wood on back- see photo 9. Do not know year of manufacture but it may be vintage based on appearance and place of purchase.

NICE 1880s GERMAN BLACK FOREST ANIMATED BLACKSMITH AUTOMATON CLOCK
This Very nice old Clock that came from an estate. It is 15" high x 12" wide x 6" deep- The case features an oak wood blacksmith's shop with a brass rail fence and a hand carved and painted blacksmith. The case is fitted with a I think a 30 hour back wind automaton movement. Made I was told in the Black Forest of Germany, circa 1880s, The blacksmith is holding a hammer in his right hand, at the top of the hour, the blacksmith's right arm goes up and down in an animated motion and his hammer strikes the piece of metal over the anvil. The clock does work for an hour or more but will stop, it should need a tune up, I don't think it would cost much, it looks like it's missing a metal? round cover on the back. It is in excellent order and the automaton action works. The overall condition of the piece is excellent ... morefor it's age, I did use a key from a clock I have, so it will need a key. But I can't be sure. There was a clock exactly like this one that sold on this website for almost 1200.00 It's in good working condition and everything is working including: The cuckoo(bird) which cuckoo's every hour and every half hour The kissing boy and girl. Their heads turn back and forth and they kiss each other on the hour There are dancers and music that come on after the cuckoo. Every hour on the hour There's a mill wheel that turns as well on the hour Not sure of the age. But it is a newer clock and it is certified black forest This ... moreis a large clock and measures approximately 16.75" in width x 19" high x 10" in depth It's in good condition with a small minor flaw on the bell tower(see pic 22) but no big deal. It is missing a piece of fencing about 5" long on the side where the mill wheel is(see the last 2 pics) It's the same fencing in the front that you see in pic 11 The missing fence can be replaced by creatively making it yourself or maybe someone you know or by contacting a dealer online for information on having one made. Because these are handmade by people in Germany Other than the missing fence everything else is there and in great working condition. Up for auction is this very nice. Pre-1930's German, Hand-Carved, Black Forest Cuckoo Clock. Works perfectly and comes with weights and pendulum as shown. Cuckoos and gongs on the half and hour.with a count of the hours. The 30 hour movement works flawlessly. I don't see too many old cuckoos like this The case is in very nice shape with the odd rub here and there as one would expect for it's age. The dial numbers are missing some pieces, but that is an easy fix. Overall dimensions of the case are: 19 x 14" with a 4 1/2" dial. Hand Carved Black Forest Walking Bear Signed With Glass Eyes
At auction from my personal collection is a great hand carved Black Forest Bear. Bear measures 6.5 inches long. 2 inches in width an 3.5 inches in height. A smaller version of the walking bear this one is exceptionally well done. From carved teeth to protruding tongue to th e tuft of fur under the jaw to the shading of the fur as the coloration goes from brown to tinges of black the carver got all the details right. QUALITY PAIR OF ANTIQUE SIGNED VICTORIAN BLACK FOREST? HAND CARVED CANDLESTICKS
Hi. This is a very fine pair of hand carved candlesticks which I believe were produced in the Black Forest area around 1880-1900. The wood. Which is both light in colour and in weight, has a gorgeous patina. They are signed in several places. Unfortunately they have suffered over time with several leaves missing their tips and both of the"upper" birds are missing their tail feathers and wing tips. One base has a piece missing which. Luckily, is at the rear and doesn't really show when they are on display. The same stick has the"seeds" missing from the top. I would like to point out that due to the"busy/intricate" nature of the carving the damage is not immediately obvious and does not stand out too much. ANTIQUE BLACK FOREST MOTHER BEAR AND CUBS HALL TREE
A genuine antique carved wood hall tree featuring a mother with her two cubs. The piece measures 86 inches tall and comes apart for shipping. Four of the branches come off and the front guard also. There are a few age cracks from drying out, no actual damage or repairs, see pics. The carving is very good quality showing expression and pretty fine detail, the teeth are all there and interior of the mouths, which are painted red, are in great condition. Moms' eyes are glass, but the cubs eyes are carved into the wood and painted. This will ship Fedex ground service in two large boxes, probably cost around $300. Lower 48 states only. The outside is extensively decorated with bas relief carving in parallel lines. It is carved from walnut. The top is decorated with heavy pointillism. It also is carved with four shamrock/clover leaves in bas relief. Other bas relief carving of lines and dots and a central decoration of an Edelweiss flower with its leavers in high relief. The box sits on four carved feet. It has a nice walnut patina. It is in good used condition with a minimal slight warping.
