Beautiful Antique Convex Glass Oval Frame with picture scene, foil?
Antique picture frame from the house when we were kids. So at least 60 years old, but I`m thinking much older than that. It`s a good size oval, 25 X 19 inches overall. The frame is in pretty decent shape physically. No pieces of wood missing, very sturdy. There are some chips out of the paint on the frame as you can clearly see in the pics, but they can be touched up easily with a marker. The picture which looks to be some kind of foil has separated in several spots on the piece as seen in the pics. Not too bad for the age, and it displays really well. The glass is in good condition for it`s age and is convex. Pretty hard to come by nowadays, and expensive. The back shows it`s age and has a hanging wire. Overall I`d rate this as VERY GOOD condition for something this old, but that`s just my opinion. No international sales. This is really neat! It's an old vintage. Possibly antique but I'm unsure how to tell it's age, picture frame, marked'Made In France' on the back. I think it's brass with gold gilt, but I'm not sure- you'll have to look at the pictures and judge for yourself. p It's got an interesting easel back, and also has an intriguing old black and white photo of a girl in it, which looks like it might have another photo underneath, but I've not taken it apart to find out- I'll leave that mystery up to its new owner. WOW! What a beautiful old picture frame! I think is from Portugal. I say this because I have a huge mirror with the same decorative style border and made from the same gold colored brass(or bronze) material. It has a sticker on it that says where it is from. I have looked this frame over and over and find no mark or such sticker. I figured they had a sticker on it(like my mirror does) and the sticker is just gone. Anyway. It is for an 8X10 photo but the actual measurements of the frame are 13X11. This is such a pretty frame, and in really great vintage condition! No damage I can see. Lovely Roses adorn the border all the way around. Each rose has a heart around it. How sweet! There are two rubber tips on the feet to prevent furniture scratches, but these can be removed if desired. The only flaw is with the old glass. One corner is broken and it is pictured in the last photo. Now when the glass is in the frame- it covers the break and you do not see it. If you look at the photos it looks like there are several cracks in the glass, but there is not! What you see are lines on the cardboard backround, NOT cracks in the glass. Except for the broken edge corner, the glass is in really good condition for the age. Very clear with few scratches. I have other frames and things for auction now so please check out my other items. Only this item could get away with missing three out of four front finials. I took a picture of the top left corner and you will note that there is a wooden finial which comes out towards you so to speak. If you removed this one no one would notice the other three are missing. It is very finely made with excellent detail and with a fine emphasis on its classic and relatively formal visual appeal. The outer measurements are 14" x 16" the inner is 11" x 13" and it is a full 2" thick. There are only the 4 fine pieces- not layers of molding attached to each other. Condition and patina are both wonderful and excellent- with the expected modest and insignificant scrapes and gentle scuffs- showing just how well it has aged. 5 good photos that show you exactly what you'll be receiving. Up for auction is this very unique antique Victorian era picture frame. I think the wood it is made with is mahoghany. But I'm not sure. It has gold tone gesso inlay that has clovers and other designs stamped into it. It has a unique"shelf" design at the top that has gold painted wooden columns. On the front of the"shelf" there are five wood finials or buttons and you can see in Photos#8 and#9. This frame does come with glass, but it doesn't look wavey so I don't think it is original glass. It has some chips, dents and surface scratches. There are some places where the gesso inlay is missing and one of the button finials is broken. There are small nail heads visible on the sides of the frame and some of the wood finish has come off in a couple of places. WELCOME TO ZANGEL14 The item up for sale is an old 1910~1930'S Victorian picture frame. This is made of wood and gesso and is white and gold. The gesso is in super condition for the age. There are a couple of very minor hairline cracks but no loss of material. The gesso has a shell and rose pattern in it. Very ornate. Then each corner has an added ornate overlay with acanthus leaves and flowers. This would be wonderful to add a mirror and hang it or use it as a vanity mirror. In addition it's perfect to use as a picture frame, comes with glass and is ready to hang. The overall measurement is 18x15 and inside measures 13.25x10.25 inches. This is an old antique Document from the state of Ohio. Supreme Court of Ohio. City of Columbus, January Term AD 1902 for an Attorney and Counselor at Law and signed by Lawson E. Emerson Clerk. I have pictured above that one corner of the document does have some water damage, but is still readable. Has the gold seal of the Supreme Court of Ohio. We are pleased to offer this very beautiful. C1920, antique frame. This frame offers solid gilt wood with gesso acanthus leaf accents in the corner sections. The frame features an outer design of small cut/incised acanthus leaves. There is a unique cut pattern to the wood in the center sections of the frame which gives it a"brushed" gold appearance. The inner section features small cut beads. The frame is very European in style and design. It is very beautiful and in very good condition. There are some very minor surface cracks to the gesso, as it quite common with pieces this old. They do not extend below the surface and do not affect the stability of the gesso. They are very hard to discern except upon very close inspection. The frame does not show its age at all and the gilted finish is incredible. The frame had an old picutre ... morein it which was not in good condition. There are traces of the old paper backing to the back of the frame. The frame retains the hangers and wire. This is a nice sized frame. The outer measurements are 24" x32" The inner dimensions are 20"x26" The frame is 1.25" in thickness at the corners and.75" elsewhere. Antique Victorian "rosin" oval picture frame/1917 Easter picture GREAT CONDITION
Fantastic antique oval Victorian frame. Made of"rosin" I think) The original gold paint is antique GREAT, some worn off exposing the dark brown, hard, glassy substance that it is molded of. It looks like rosin and when I actually had to grind some away to make the glass fit; it smells like rosin. I got it about 25 years ago in pieces as I am selling that way, I did get the glass to fit tightly but I do not know how to permanently attach the hanger that has very old tape holding it onto the cardboard back. There are no chips, cracks or broken pieces, it is a fantastic piece of Victorian art. It's outer measurements are 10 1/2" x 8 1/4" inside measurements: 8" x 6 1/4" the thickness is 1" The adorable winged cherub and baby peep and egg Easter card is in fantastic condition.
