Lamp/Ceiling Fixture-Brass-Heavy-Vintage/Antique
This came from a very old estate in Sheffield. Massachusetts. The owners were lighting fixture fanatics. This is 7" Tall with a 6" base. This could have been a lamp base. I say so because of it's weight and a hole on the side for a cord. it looks like someone tried to retro fit it for the wall or ceiling as two small holes in the narrow end are not evenly spaced. It looks as though they were using screws in the holes to hold a glass fixture in place so it could be hung. this is a gorgeous antique electric large. Victorian table lamp. it is made from very high end materials and extremely ornate. the base and shaft is made from a stunning solid/ cut green onyx stone which has wonderful greens and brown veining/ inclusions. it is footed with very ornate solid brass claw feet. and the top of the base also has extremely detailed victorian brass design. it has a ribbed nicely shaped green glass globe as the body of the lamp and topped with a very detailed cut out brass filigree finial. the shade base is also a rare piece and has an adjustment on the side to be able to raise and lower the shade. the light turns on and off with a wonderful victorian key style switch on the socket. the lamp works great and in good shape measures 35 1/4 x 6 3/8 inches. it is marked on the bottom of the lamp"BA" and some ... morenumbers very rare lamp. ANTIQUE FRENCH BRONZE PINK MARBLE IRIS FLOWER STAINED GLASS OIL LAMP CONVERTED
We are pleased to offer this GORGEOUS. Old, antique French converted oil lamp. The lamp is exceptional. Designed in the same manner as other French oil lamps of this period(late 1800s) this beauty is set apart by the fantastic color pattern. The lamp has a long center column of pink marble with lots of intricate and colorful veins. The marble ranges from a true pink with peach, deep plum and white veins. The glass oil reservoir is satin frost with raised, embossed leaves that rise from the bottom section of the bowl. There are three, large Iris flowers which circle the vessel. Each flower is a different color. There is a peach flower, a purple flower and a deep rose colored flower. The flower colors are not a reverse paint, but rather an opaque, stained effect color. This is a beautiful feature. The marble and glass are coupled with ornate ... morebronze hardware. The base features four, clawed, acanthus leaf feet that are formed into a fleur de lis as they move up the base. There is an intricate pattern of draped swags which join to form hearts or spades. Inside the hearts/spades are acanthus features. There are also Gothic/Celtic crosses which separate the patterns on the upper base section. Just above the base, at the lower column section, is a bronze torch"flame" The marble rests inside. A column cap finishes the marble column at the top. This is an exceptional, RARE lamp. It is in extremely nice condition for its age. There are no chips, cracks, etc. to either the glass or the marble. The gilt finish is still present and the bronze is gorgeous. This is an incredible lamp! The pictured shade is not included but the lamp does come with the harp(it is fixed) and a very nice, ornate finial. The lamp has been converted at some point to electric. The wiring is older vintage. But in good working condition. Most of the original hardware has been retained. The lamp could be converted back to oil if you so choose. The old pieces of Bakelite were saved and are still in nice condition. This piece measures 3 3/4" in diameter and 1/2" thick; it is an orangish-carmel color. One side has faint lines or grooves from manufacturing and the other side is smooth; the center is a metal piece with what looks like holes for a lamp cord; this center metal piece is RUSTY. There is a hole drilled down through the bakelite. Also for the cord. Measuring 17 ½” tall by 7” wide and 9” deep this 19 th century Lantern has a curved tin smoke-stack and round top. Which looks like a 19th century French Firefighter’s Helmet. This is a very rare Fire-Fighting Lantern andhe pressed tin design on the front of this smokestack is also reminiscent of a French Firemen’s Emblem. Normally I would not list a lantern that had problems like this example, however, because of its rarity, I decided to make an exception. This tin lantern once had a kerosene font that would slide in and out. This was replaced by a past owner with an electric candle holder, which is easly removed. There is a hole in the back, for the wire to travel through. Also, the curved clear panel you see is plastic, and would have originally been glass. This unusual antique brass miner's lamp is about 4 5/16" tall and the reflector is 4" in diameter and it was designed to be worn on the miner's helmet. The carbide fueled lamp is very sturdy and well made and it is marked"Auto-Lite Universal Lamp Co.etc. on the top and the bottom. I was told that this lamp was used in the N.E. Pennsylvania coal mines long ago. There is some wear and a patina of age but over all the miner's lamp is in good original condition with no parts missing except for the carbide fuel and a piece of flint for the striker. I know it is very old but I don't know the exact date it was made. My best guess as to age is ca. 1930s or earlier. Good luck! There are some issues that need to be addressed to restore this antique back to its former glory. I think it was made during the art deco period, 1920’s to 1940’s. I am not sure. I could not find any maker’s mark or engravings. The old light switch was made here in the USA and it still works as you can see in the photos. The cloth cord is so frayed from age on the exterior although the wires are still fully covered. There are slight fissures on the bronze itself especially on the back of the female figure. The lily stained glass shade is still completely intact(no damages) The lamp stands 14” tall including the shade. Vintage Chrome Mid Century Art Deco Industrial Jewlers Lamp Antique
The coolest lamp ever. Manufactured by Apollo Electric Co. sometime between the 1920's-1950's. My reasearch has turned up other lamps from the same company but nothing quite like this one. A heavy duty cast iron base beneath the chrome base. The lamp pivots 360 around the central stem and the shade with a ball and socket joint. It stands 21" tall. It is 10 1/2" at base and shade diameter. The polished chrome table lamp retains the original full size interior glass shade used to greatly enhance or intensify the light source. Appears to have original switch(which works correctly) and cord(has been patched) The finish has a few specks of oxidation but they are hardly noticeable. Light scratching on base from use. This Antique Nautilus Sea Shell Seashell light cover measures 5" high(the shell alone) With the celluloid base it stands over 6" Please note the break in the celluloid base. The shell shade isn't fully polished but has a contrast of shell and glowing abalone. It dates from the early 1900s. The shell has no cracks. Breaks or chips. Antique Floral Enamel Lamp Base Superb Quality w/ 10" spider Double Duplex
A wonderful. Antique, floral enameled, table lamp base missing the shade. 12 Photos) The lamp base, 13" high by 8" wide, has the original spider for a 10" matching shade. It is of superb quality and in the Mt. Washington manner.it has an ornate base with worn gilt plating. It was electrified years ago and has a light for the body as well as the top. The burner is a Bridgeport Duplex(double) with an American filler cap.the burner has been electrified. The base has not been drilled through the body and has the old cord with plug(both decent) This was our personal lamp and my favorite.I always cautioned my wife to put it on a safe surface.the table collapsed and destroyed the shade and I didn't have the heart to begin a search for the right top. ANTIQUE LARGE GREEN SLAG GLASS w/ WOOD BASE POLE FLOOR LAMP I sell lamps so please see my other auctions. Up for your consideration is an antique floor lamp– 64” tall with a 22” diameter green slag glass shade in excellent condition. No cracks or breaks. The wood pole is a substantial piece– 12-1/2” diameter solid base maple base with a hole in the center for wiring. The pole section of the lamp has a bottom dimeter of 5” and tapers slowly to a 2-3/4” diameter at the top. It is an uncommon heavy base that easily supports the large glass shade. Because of its large size it will all have to be shipped in 2-3 boxes. Reassembly may not require tools and I am always on line should you need help. Shipping will be FREE.
