Dates approximately 1890/1910. 18" long Made from solid oak. In WONDERFUL condition with no missing or replaced timber. Inlaid Ebony and boxwood banding and further inlaid to each corner. Inlaid with the original sold brass central cartouche. Pictures really don't do it justice. If you see it in front of you you'll be delighted. No warping to the lid. And this closes true flush and square. The lid opens fully. The solid brass catch at the front is a very interesting design and very unusual. It is worn and does not lock in place otherwise its in good condition. The inner lid fixed silk panel is original to the box and in pretty good condition with very minor wear. This type of box would be great to house pocket watches. Hatpins or medals. It really does have a multitude of uses. Considering how old the box is its in wonderful condition. Boxes of this calibre are becoming increasingly rare. I’M PRETTY SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Box retains the original hinges. YOU ONLY GET THIS TYPE OF QUALITY FROM US. It is gold in color and has decorative trim framing the picture. Mirror and box. The interior is also gold, has removable dividers and a glass lined bottom. The bottom of the box is covered with black felt. Considering it's age the box is in great shape. Box is complete and appears all original. There is a wind up music box with a pretty Geisha doll in a glass door case on one side of the box. She rotates to the music. Very unique Trinket Box. I am not sure of style. French? Victorian? Swiss? Upon my research many people described it many ways. I aquired through Estate Sale. The condition is good. It appears the picture is lithographed. The picture does have some damage. I took photos of that peeling. The mirror inside is spotted not etched due to age. The inside is felted with the color of pea soup. I am not sure of the wood it is made of but has a patina look to it. The back side has a piece of felt added I am not sure if it is the orginal piece, there is one behind it. I would recommend to have this professionaly cleaned. This is my first bakelite piece I've sold so I'm not an expert. So ask questions. From a fine San Diego estate.Chinese silver guilt(Can be both pendant or hair ornament) is in the shape of an open poppy flower or maybe a butterfly. It is covered with kingfisher bird feathers. Accented with about 38 red coral beads and has some sort of red colored stone as its centerpiece. Size is 1 1/2" at its widest point. It is missing 5% or less of its feathers and otherwise shows no additional damage. It is clearly marked on the back and appears to have 4 holes for hairpins on the back side and a place to hang it fron a chain near the top. Please examine with ebay zoom for exquisite detail.
