The other is a bigger one at 6 inches two toned dark brown on stone. Has chip on handle and on rim. Photo 10 shows where brown and stone meet this is two little chips. 1850-1899 J.Fisher&Co Lyons NY Antique Stoneware Crocks 12 inch and 10 inch
NOTE: There is a hairline crack and a small chip on each piece(see photos) The smaller crock has NO markings of J.Fisher and Co. The weight of the larger crock is 19 lbs and the smaller is 9 lbs. With shipping materials the combined weight will be quite expensive to ship probably $50+ so take that into consideration when bidding. HISTORY: Jacob Fisher immigrated from Germany in 1853 and married the daughter of John Burger Sr. who was operating the Rochester branch at the time. Fisher had worked for Burger at the Rochester branch since 1863. Fisher teamed up with George Lang. Who was also a son-in-law of John Burger and was one of Burger’s partners in Rochester from 1871 to 1876. Even though George Lang was Fisher’s partner in the Lyons Pottery, Lang continued to reside in Rochester. During these years at the Lyons and Rochester Potteries, ... moreit was evident there were close family and employee relations. In 1878, Jacob Fisher bought the Lyons Pottery outright from Lang. Fisher’s daughter(Louise) and son assisted with the business affairs. It was during this time period that the business flourished like never before. Jacob Fisher had 2 of his own canal boats used to bring in clay from NJ and Long Island and Albany. These boats also delivered finished wares all along the canal. Wares were also distributed all over the northern counties of NYS bordering Lake Ontario from Syracuse to Buffalo by horse drawn wagons. The pottery grew in size and production during this time. Hundreds of pieces of stoneware could be seen stacked on the docks of the canal awaiting shipment. It was at this time that approximately 18 potters were spinning their wares. By 1896 the Fisher Pottery was the largest in the state. Around 1902, Jacob Fisher retired and decided to close the pottery because of increased competition from molded clay vessels being manufactured and distributed from Ohio. The crocks and jugs being mass produced in Ohio were attractive, cheaper, and could be produced 10 times faster than the hand made potters could produce

Pair of Antique Stoneware Blue Decorate Crocks
Up for auction is a pair of blue decorated crocks. First crock is a 3 gallon churn style. In good condition. Crock was painted at one time, and has a chip out of the upper outside rim, some other small chips and flea bites around inner rim and bottom, there are no cracks along the top rim by the chip it is an over lap of clay that makes it look like a crack running around the top, there is also a chip and some small flea bits on one handle. Crock does have a few drying hairline cracks, very tight. It is 100% solid and pings great. Second crock for sale is a 2 gallon, has some small chips and flea bites throughout. There is a small hairline crack running from the top about 1/3rd of the way down. Crock is 100% stable. There is also some staining on the inside. Normal ware and tear on both. Four Antique Stoneware Spice Mini Crocks
Now this is just a neat set of mini crocks to add to your country decor I've never seen any before and the style and makeup I'd guess they'd date from the 1920s to 1940s. They are in mint condition showing no defects and stand 3 1/4 in. tall and 2 3/4 in. wide across the shoulder. The colors as well as the names are glazed into the pottery not painted and there is clove.Nutmeg,allspice and cinnamon. The glazed colors are yellow,red,brown and turqouise. The other is unmarked but has the same coloring as the Roseville piece and I believe that it is Roseville also. The roseville piece is 6" round by 4" deep. It has a crack along the side but does not detract from its beauty and function. The second crock is 9" round by 4.5" deep. They look lovely together and both hold fluids. There are no leaks. Collection of over 70 antique cheese crocks
My father was a collector of many things and cheese crocks was one of them. This collection numbers over 70 and possibly more. I find another one almost daily. Most are in good condition although a few might have a scratch or chip. Some are plain brown and others have printing on them. Stoneware Crocks, England, Doulton Lambeth, Skey Tamworth - Antique, Mid-1800's
Lot of 4 Stoneware Crocks. England- Doulton Lambeth, Skey Tamworth Lidded stoneware crocks. Kitchen canister set of 4, by Doulton Lambeth, England and George Skey of Wilnecote Works, Tamworth, England. These are early- the Doulton Lambeth mark is from 1853-1882 and the Skey Tamworth mark is from 1860-1932. Given that the crocks are nearly identical I would say that they were all made between 1853-1882 with the Skey one being 1860 and later. Although made by 2 companies they do match. Perhaps one company made blanks for the other. I don't know. 1. Tallest One: 6 1/2" tall with lid. No cracks. A couple of minor chips on rims. Unmarked. 2. Other tall one: 6 1/4" tall with lid. Has a hairline crack in both canister and lid but both are solid and tight. Marked. SKEY, Tamworth" 3. Next size down: 5 1/2" tall with lid. No ... morecracks. A couple of small chips. Two Antique stoneware crocks A P Donaghho Parkersburg Wv.
Up for auction. Are 2 canning jars, the smaller jar has no cracks, a couple very small chips, has some green paint around the top, and some of the original wax seal around the rim also. Very, very cool. I believe that is why they never removed the paint, do to the wax) the second jar is larger, and has some roughness around upper inner rim, no cracks, a few very small chips, a glazing flaw, that you can see in pics. Must of gotten to hot in kiln. Both jars are in beautiful shape, and has some factory flaws and bless. Normal ware and tear. Factory flaws, blemishes& flakes* If there are any questions. Please ask!
