The pot is in the style of the 19th jam pans that I see listed from time to time on eBay, Etsy and Ruby Lane. These pans sell in antique stores for well over $100-usually closer to or over $200! I have been Blessed to own 3 of these treasures. The others are listed too. I am a copper fanatic-not so much love for brass. It does contain some copper-so it's okay enough:The kettle is best described as a 19th Century Brass(possibly over copper) with Copper Rivets& Cast Iron Handle. No proof of this yet, just based on the clues from it's structure.Could have traditionally be used for making large quantities of jam, or casserole. It has been well used and has all the character and dings of a much loved piece. I'm not sure why so many preserve/jam pots in England are brass, but I am finding that most of the brass ones that are listed are from England? Some are brass over copper-not sure if this may be one of them. It is olds water with no leaks or holes. The bottom is dented, but it still sits flat. Antique Japanese Copper Paper Lantern Holder
This is an Antique Japanese Copper Paper Lantern Holder At the time of the original listing I was uncertain as to whether the piece was Japanese or Chinese. The age, or any other information. I was not able to find any identifying marks on the piece. Since then. A knowledgeable ebayer kindly took the time to provide the following information: We lived many years in japan and colected many of these. We have sinilar ones. But not same but very sure this is japanese. Guess end 18th century. This is a nice heavy piece. It is made in two parts that press fit together when not in use. The two"doors" on top flip open to replace a candle on the spike in the center. Please scroll at the way down past this description to view the photos in the lower photo group including the one with these doors open. Originally there was a paper lantern ... moreinside. As found there are only some remnants in very poor condition. The lantern was held in the bottom and top halves. Respectively by springy wire rings. First the candle would be lit; then the two halves were separated and the lantern was hung by the chain on the handle on the top section. The weight of the bottom section would cause the paper lantern to full extend and the candle would provide a soft glow through the paper sides of the lantern. I noticed a little charring on one part of the paper remnants so a bit of wind may have caused a mishap. It seems like finding a contemporary paper lantern of the proper diameters and height might all the lamp to be fully restored but I do not know for sure. Additionally you should take all proper precautions if you did restore and plan to use the lantern with a candle instead of an electric substitute. Even without the paper lantern, this piece would look great with the two halves together and a tea candle used on the spike with the doors open. As found. Offering a unique item from the Rochester Company with a Patent date of April 26 1904 in the form of a copper burner I would guess once used as a camping accessory? When the handle is rotated it parts the top on either side to reveal the burner surrounded by wire mesh that's a bit aged in appearance. W hen opened the width is 4" a nd the entire length including handle is 7 1/4" Overall it's in pretty good condition. Done in the making and only really visible when viewed at the right angle in the right light. It appears to have had only very light use. Copper lustre decoration is in excellent condition, not worn. The variation of the lustre decoration from reddish to shiny copper in photos is just a function of lighting. Standing Antique Humidor, Copper Lined Storage Box
This is a really old humidor and as a result there are some defects. First. There are some age cracks and the top is a little warped. It was taken apart and all of the joints were re-glued. My mother had this stored in her garage for the last 20+ years and she finally decided to do something with it. Ancient Antique Chinese Copper Sword Saber & Scabbard Han Dynasty 206 BC-220 AD
The dealer I bought this sword from told me that it dates back to the Han Dynasty of China(206 BC-220 AD) He had no more information about it than that. I have some experiance with ancient bronze swords. But I know nothing about copper swords. It looks as if it was painted at one time. This has me a little suspicious of its authenticity. The blade has some ingraving, and the scabbard is very ornatly ingraved. The paint obscures a lot of this intricate work. I can't believe that the person who did all this work would have painted it. It's a very cool sword, but I can't guarentee that it's not a reproduction. The sword and scabbard are solid copper and very heavy. Together they weigh just over 5 pounds. Antique 1850's E Walley Copper Lustre Ironstone Handless Cup and Saucer Scroll
This is a very old. Mid 1800's transferware handleless cup and saucer. It is hand decorated in green with flowers in purple and orange. It also has applied copper lustre in some of the scroll pattern. It is 10 sided and handleless; an indication of its age. This cup and saucer was made by Edward Walley in Staffordshire, England around 1850. This piece looks very old with wear to the green around the rim and crazing. It has a small chip which I have pictured, on the rim of the cup. There are no cracks. The pattern name is Scroll. The saucer is 6" in diameter. The cup is 3" tall. Free shipping is offered. Antique Republic of China Green Blue Copper Plates
Flowers painted on these fantastic Republic of China-made plates/saki bowls/saucers during the 40s? era. I am very unsure as to what I have. But I have dealt with antiques since I was 17(I am 25 now) and I can tell you- these are OLD. The feel of these bowls are as if they were stored away for safe keeping. Old Antique OAK Hoosier Kitchen Cupboard Cabinet Copper Counter Slag Glass Doors
Vintage Hoosier Style Kitchen Cupboard Cabinet w/Copper& Slag Glass Doors This is a gorgeous old kitchen'Hoosier style' cupboard. It has the base. The hutch and a beautiful copper topped counter that does indeed pull out on the base. The top hutch has three doors on the top part with leaded Slag Glass in green and white milk-glass. These appear to have been added to the doors some time ago when this piece appears to have been refinished. The lower part of the upper hutch have two larger wooden doors. The outside of the right door appears to have sustained surface water damage to it some time ago. The bottom base part has one large latching door on the left side that reveals a metal lined storage bin with one wire rack making a shelf in it. The right side has three drawers where the twop two right side drawers are in wood and the ... morebottom right drawer is lined in tin/metal. The counter is simply beautiful. The counter was resurfaced in a solid sheet of copper sometime ago when the entire piece was lightly refinished. The copper counter has a nice protective coat of varnish or poly on it as does the entire piece. The sheen is in a nice soft gloss. Not a shreakingly heavy gloss that makes one put on sunglasses just to look at it. This piece is on metal casters with wood wheels and is easy to move if needed. The drawer pulls appear to be original to the piece. However some of the upper hardware appears to have either been moved during the restoration or have been replaced. All the hardware appears to be correct for the piece, I just can not swear it is all orginal to the piece. The family reports that they just remember this piece being as it has always been so the restoration work done on this piece was done at least more than 40-50 years ago. If I were to keep this for my very own. I would be proud to display it in my own kitchen and show it as my own. Take that for what it is worth. I will gladly entertain reasonable offers. This is a nice Vintage Sheridan Covered dish. It is Silver on Copper with decorative trim on the topper. Handles and around the bowl.
