In my extensive research on this bracelet I believe the ovals to be made of Bakelite One of the ovals must have been replaced at one time as it is lighter in appearance and the center figure is darker. The individual ovals are set in a silver colored metal filigree design and are hinged together. The clasp is a V-spring and Box style. The markings on the back say China. This auction is for an antique Peking glass silver filigree bracelet. Marked-CHINA. The bracelet is made of five segments each with filigree on the front and back and inset with round panels. The panels are likenesses of Chinese Bronze coins of Yung T'ung Wan Kuo.showing four characters. An inverted Big Dipper. Sword, snake and a turtle. These coins are an expression of the Chinese cosmological concept of heaven, earth and center. The square in the middle represents the terrestrial sphere opening towards the center of the sky. Bracelet measures-7 1/8 x 1 1/8 inches approximately. Push in clasp with a hook safety chain. Bracelet has its original patina and is in very nice condition. The coins are all tightly affixed and filigree shows no breaks. I purchased this bracelet many years ago from the estate of a Chinese missionary. Vtg Asian (Chinese?) Silver clad copper Filigree & Enamel Dragon Bracelet
This is a Vintage Asian(Chinese? Silver plated copper filigree and Enameled 3-panel bracelet. Bracelet features a large central panel with an etched bone(scrimshaw? picture in the middle with enamel flowers and leaves surrounding it. Each side panel features a detailed enameled dragon. The bracelet closes with a tongue and slot clasp. There is a small area on the right side panel where turquoise enamel(1/4 inch) is missing or worn. It is noted in the photo of this panel with a small white arrow. The Bracelet measures 6 3/4 inches in length(excluding clasps) The picture is 1 3/8 inches high by 1 inch wide in a filigree frame. The middle panel is 2 1/8 inches high by 2 1/2 inches wide. And the side panels are 1 1/4 inches high at the widest part by 2 inches in length. The panels do not lay flat. They have a curve to them which makes it fit ... morearound the wrist very comfortably. It weighs 1.25 ounces on my digital scale. I am not a jewelry expert; this bracelet is from my aunt's estate which I am attempting to settle for numerous heirs. I do not know the country of origin. Offered for your bid is this beautiful collectible antique Chinese sterling silver bracelet with hand carved ox bone immortal inserts. The bracelet measures 7" long from end to clasp end and is 1" wide. Each of the three carved immortal inserts measure 7/8" x 3/4" The back is marked Silver China on the three inserts and the end of the clasp has 925 in a circle impressed. The filigree work is very intricate and the carvings are complete with no breaks. The clasp fastens securely. I cleaned the bracelet lightly and it shows a nice patina.
