It has three unusual Pinwheel Whirling Stars. The designs wrap all around the bottom of the bowl with no added base. It weighs one pound 7 ounces before it is packaged. The condition is excellent. There are no chips. Cracks or heavy scratches. There is the normal surface wear for an antique glass bowl but nothing to detract from its beauty. The woman who owned this bowl is in her 90s and needing to dispose of items that have been in her family for many years. She said this belonged to her mother who came from Poland. It comes in its original box and has a 100 mm anvil that can be swapped. There is also a mystery little tool included. I don't know anything about Micrometers. I obtained this item from a Kawasaki Bike shop that went out of business. The measurement dial/ spindle sleeve has clear numbering with a smooth satin chrome finish(on carbide) that increases readability. The smooth rolling spindle action includes ratchet top and lock lever. The blade portion is insulated steel(blue) the front has a black plastic plate screwed to the base with"01" then"100-125 mm" printed in gold. On the back of the blade is the same plastic plate with"MADE IN ... moreCHINA" printed in gold lettering. The box is solid wood with silver toned metal latches. The inside is lined with foam that holds the Micrometer in place. On the front of the box are several stickers identifying the part numbers. The action on the dial is smooth, and there is no damage to the blade base(no chips, dents or rust) The anvil and tool also seem to be in fine condition with no dents or breaks. The box clearly lived in a shop and shows the most wear, the latches work great(and are tight) and the hinges are fully in tact and tight, but the wood on the box has some grease stains on the outside(especially on the back) and some minor scratches and dents in the wood. Antique Hand Crocheted Popcorn/Star Bedspread (72 inches x 100 inches)
Up for auction is this antique hand crocheted bedspread made by my husband's grandmother for her 2 daughters. We did not need two of them. So we are selling this one. Grandmother was born in 1891 and her daughters were born between 1913 and 1918. We do not know exactly when she crocheted the spread. We we think they may have been wedding gifts, thus that puts the dates around early 1930's, but that's a guess. I laid the spread out over our King size bed so you can see it was draped long ways across the bed and had plenty of overhang, thus the 100 inch length. The spread was from the bottom of the king bed to about 5 inches from my pillow which were standing up against the headboard, about 72 inches wide. I did not pull on the spread, but it's 100% cotton and will stretch a little wider. We figured Grandmother made it for double ... moresize beds. It is ivory in color, but as I tried to show in the last picture is has some dark places in a couple of areas. You have to look hard to see them. You may be able to wash them our, I just don't know.
