This is a 19th/20th century Japanese"faux" ivory and silver bracelet. The faux ivory pieces are of elephants. Are all in great condition. There are no chips out of any of them. Please see pictures for condition and detail. They are mounted in unmarked for purity silver,backing of braclet just says silver. The mounting is a typical jewelers mount with prongs holding the figure to the silver backing. The bracelet clasped, is 8 inces as set could be made smaler or larger with the additional piece which is included. The elephants measure 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch. The weight of the bracelet is 19.1 grams without the extra piece and 21.4 with the additional elephant, the weight of the earnings are 3.9 grams with a total weight for all 25 grams. A nice Amita damascene Japanese Bracelet Comprising six panels with gold and silver wire work detail to their fronts gilt metal engravings to the back of each Damascene Process The design is first chiselled into the soft steel surface of the product. The cutting is done from three different angles employing the use of a very delicate jewellers hammer and chisel. Tiny strands of pure gold and silver are then inlaid in the design. The piece is then ready for corrosion which is done by dipping it into a nitric acid solution. It is brushed with ammonia and dried in an electric heater. This process is repeated every two hours for 48 hours. The surface is coated with Japanese Lacquer(Urshi) which is then burned off. This process is repeated several times until the jet blackness of the background reaches the exact shade desired. It is then'fixed' ... moreby boiling in Japanese Green Tea which prevents further rusting. WOW Super Rare Estate Find. This is a Storyteller Panel Sterling Silver Bracelet. It has 7 panels. 6 Storyteller and the main center one. The Center panel has Dragons and a cartouche for engraving. This bracelet has NO engravings NO Monograms. It measures about 7 1/4" long by 7/8" wide at its widest point, weighing about 25.6 grams, Marked SILVER. Overall its in very nice vintage condition, it looks very shiny with no issues. I don't clean my items I leave this up to the discretion of the buyer.
