The Inside Diameter is approximately 2 5/8" The bamboo is brought together at the top and held in place, I suppose, by the silver weave. The whole thing seems very strong. On the sides are the leaf scars, or knots in the bamboo. They are more constricted(or smaller in diameter) than the rest of the piece of bamboo which is approximately 3/8" Diameter. I don't know anything about these bracelets but I've seen them listed. Some of them have carvings where the leaf scars are but this one doesn't. This is a beautiful old Chinese Silver and Painted Bamboo Bangle Bracelet and Earrings. There is a silver band with etched details that wraps around a black painted bamboo bangle. There are dangle earrings to match with screw backs. The bracelet measures 2 1/2" inside diameter and the band is 3/8" wide. The earrings are 1 1/4" I believe that the silver bands are sterling. But I have not tested them. There are a few small spots on one side of the silver band on the bracelet where the aged patina has been scratched off(picture 2) and it looks like sterling underneath. There are also a few small spots where the paint has chipped off, which is not really noticeable when you're wearing it. The bands on the earrings are the same silver content as the band on the bangle. This is a beautiful Vintage/Antique Chinese Sterling Silver Repousse Cuff Bracelet. There are three rounded rows. Each with really intricate Repousse work in different patterns. There is a flower motif on either end. The band is 9/16" wide. The inside measures 2 1/2" x 2 3/4" with a 3/4" opening in back. The bracelet weighs 37.6 grams and it has a Chinese hallmark. I had my jeweler test this and it is sterling silver. I did not clean this piece. Please take a look at the overhead shot[photo 9] and the shape of the bracelet.
