The old gold ormolu has taken on a beautiful soft gently distressed look with the passage of time. The have a fabulous fatigued French look and are in great condition but they do have a little split in the bronze but they are still sound. Please see the photograph. A fabulous pair of tiebacks. I don't think that my photographs have done enough justice to them. They measure 4½" for the length of the back plate. When on the wall they will sit 4" proud. The space for the curtain is approximately 3½" wide and 4" deep. The combined weight is 332 grams. On the rear they are marked JD 375. I have left them as I found them but they would polish up. This beautiful French curtain tie back is made from bronze and has a lovely design with wreath and bow and acanthus leaf decoration. It has a bracket at the back for fixing with the makers mark of 389. The back plate measures 12cms long and will project approx 12cms. In all my years of hunting out French treasures I have never found anything like this! Cupids arrow. Just perfect for that French finishing romantic touch to any room. Made from solid brass this set includes the point and feather, with the pole being used as the arrow body. In excellent antique condition with a great patina only found over the passage of time- they could use a little cleaning however I have left this for the winning bidder to decide- please see all photographs as they form part of the description. The original screws are still in place, perfectly useable although are rusty. The arrow head is stamped to the underside with the numbers 3038; the foundry number. Pair Antique French Style Gilded Curtain Tiebacks w/Porcelain Flowers Fabulous Pair Antique French Style Curtain Tie Backs with assorted color porcelain flowers. Each measures 6" wide and 9" overall- Floral area is 6" x 7" long. They are about 4" deep. With two holes in the back to hang to wall or molding. There are some minor chips on the flowers and a petal missing on a large green flower and on a smaller yellow flower. There is some lettering on the back of one of the flowers but I can't make it out. With all that is going on it is hard to notice chips and flaws unless you are very close. Flowers are attached but some may be a bit loose due to age. Overall they are rare and unusual and display well. I think the metal is brass with a dore bronze finish.
