Description(4) vintage cast iron wall mounted brackets. The vintage cast brackets came out of an old shed where horse harnesses were draped over the rounded cut-outs on the top portion as they would mount. Also. There was other tack hung on the old cast hangers. Absolutely no cracks, breaks, or repairs on the brackets. All solid cast iron. All have three flanged cast iron lips for the wall mount security. If you wold look closely, you can see that the extended arm that carries the load is arched like a bridge for added strength. They x 1/4" x 1/2" oval arched support that connects from the wall mount to the scalloped top supports. They are very well constructed. The load carrying portion extends out 12-1/4" They weigh about 9 pounds total. Please enlarge all pictures to see the condition and details the best. A collection of 28 assorted vintage metal picture rail hooks or brackets as per the scan. They all measure around 4.5cm. Two of them are more ornate and are patterned and the remainder as plain and in a similar style. They looked to me as though they had sat in a tin a shed or garage for a good few years and all have some tarnish or general discolouration. However they are in otherwise very good condition with no bends or cracks or similar problems.

They look like a wire guide or a hanger/hook of some type, lettering and casting suggests they are quite old and likely late 1800's to early 1900's and they are all in excellent condition with a small amount of paint on one. Larger pair of vintage gold colored metal with scrolled pattern shelf brackets/ hooks- one measures 6 1/2" deep; 4 3/4" height(wall side) there is slight variation in size in the gold brackets. The other measures 6 3/4" by 4 1/2" The silver colored brackets have the same pretty scrolled pattern in the metal and both measure 4 1/2 deep by 3 3/8" wall height. For sale are 4 vintage/antique large cast iron hooks/hangers. These hooks measure 17" long and when mounted will extend approximately 12" or more downward from the wall at a 45 degree angle. Each one has 8- one inch hooks. They were originally painted/japanned black. But that finish is wearing and the original metal with some patina and rust is showing. Please use the Supersize Feature on our pictures at the top and below the description as we consider them to be a very important part of our auctions- our photos show great detail and they are about the next best thing to"being there" Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Here is a pair of antique cast iron shelf brackets with a very unique and interesting design that makes them stand out from the usual brackets. Each cast iron piece weighs just about 2 1/2 lbs. There are no manufacturer’s marks or dates on either bracket. They are in“as found” condition with some faint remnants of old black paint. There are no cracks. Brakes, chips or repairs in the cast iron. These brackets would look absolutely fantastic with a thick glass shelf suspended between them and would also work with lengths of vintage glass rods at different ... moreintervals. Besides reusing these salvaged pieces for decorative purposes. They could also be used for hanging lengths of looped rope, leather, or even hanging buckets and baskets. There is a very shallow crease or line on one long arm of a bracket– a minor flaw which occurred during the manufacturing process. With the bracket mounted on the wall and the row of cutouts on top. The crease mark is just after the second bump from the end and on the bottom piece of iron. The picture that shows this has the bracket with the mounting plate flat on the table and the row of cutouts on the right going straight up and down. The flaw is near the top. Each bracket is 10 7/8” along the length of the mounting plate and is 2” wide at the bottom and 3 7/8” wide at the round top. The cutout double arms reach out 12 1/8” from the mounting plate and are 1 7/8” wide on the outside. Each of the rounded cutouts are 7/8” wide. There is a pre-drilled hole at the bottom of the mounting plate and two open ended holes at the rounded top– they will accommodate a 1/4” screw.
