The brackets measure 9 1/2" tall x 7 1/2 across the top. They have an ornate curl on the end where the shelf would rest. I would say a 6" deep shelf would be placed in the area. Each side of the shelf brackets have 4 holes for mounting to the wall and 4 holes to mount the wood shelf you provide. These were commonly used at the turn of the century and seen in Grocery Stores. Two large 21 inch cast iron ornate shelf brackets
Super heavy duty cast iron shelf brackets. Black paint and surface rust. Great condition. But one bracket has a curl broken off from each end( compare the brackets via the pictures to see the broken bracket) therefore I'm lowering the price $25.00. 21 inches on each of the two short sides. If you need to build a shelf for your elephant or bull dozer these are the brackets for you. 15 lbs apiece. Expensive but rare and these are the biggest I've ever been able to find. Each bracket has 6 3/16 in mounting holes, 3 per side. The first hole is about 3 in from the corner. The second is about in the middle. The third is about an inch from the end. Pair of Antique Ornate Victorian Shelf Brackets, Cast iron, 9x7 in, old Eastlake
This is a lovely pair of old Victorian shelf brackets. These antique shelf brackets are made of cast iron. These were cast in an ornate pattern with stylized flowers and repeating geometric shapes. They are each 8 3/4 inches by 6 7/8 inches by 7/8 inch at the corners. Each bracket has 6 mounting holes. At some point the shelf bracket were painted white. Some of the white paint has worn off at the edges. And there is more white paint on one side than on the other. This is a terrific pair that will look great whether you leave them as they are, repaint them, or strip and wax them.
