This is a wonderful pair of antique cast iron Eastlake style shelf brackets! They measure a touch over 7" by 5" They date from around the 1870-80's. They are in as-found contdition and have green and are a little rusty. I have not tried to clean them at all. The condition is very good. They are 8” x 6” brackets.although one has an end of the longer length broken off so that one is 6 ½” instead of the full 8” The broken end will not affect its effectiveness to hold up a shelf.will still work very well and once up and in place. The missing end is not very noticeable. That one has old black paint.the whole one has rusted down.not pitted at all.just brown. They have no cracks and slight signs of use and age. There is a little paint loss to the black enamel and some minor surface rust as shown in the pictures. These have a nice decorative pattern of the period. Nice set overall. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. Her we have a 2 nice seest of ANTIQUE VINTAGE ORNATE 2 CAST IRON WALL SHELF SHELVES BRACKETS. I would rate them to be on a(8+/9) used vintage shape. The brackets measure 9 1/2" tall x 7 1/2 across the top. They have an ornate curl on the end where the shelf would rest. I would say a 6" deep shelf would be placed in the area. Each side of the shelf brackets have 4 holes for mounting to the wall and 4 holes to mount the wood shelf you provide. These were commonly used at the turn of the century and seen in Grocery Stores. Description(4) vintage cast iron wall mounted brackets. The vintage cast brackets came out of an old shed where horse harnesses were draped over the rounded cut-outs on the top portion as they would mount. Also. There was other tack hung on the old cast hangers. Absolutely no cracks, breaks, or repairs on the brackets. All solid cast iron. All have three flanged cast iron lips for the wall mount security. If you wold look closely, you can see that the extended arm that carries the load is arched like a bridge for added strength. They x 1/4" x 1/2" oval arched support that connects from the wall mount to the scalloped top supports. They are very well constructed. 3 ANTIQUE CAST IRON WALL BRACKETS/ COAT& HAT HANGERS. ORNATE& OLD! Three nice. Old cast iron brackets. It looks like they could be coat and hat hangers. All the patina/rust is light surface rust, nothing pitting. These could easily be painted to fit any decor. They would extend about 6" from the wall, the smaller hook is about 2 1/2" from the wall.They do show lots of age, one small hanger is bent outward at a small angle. There was wire wrapped around some of the brackets and when I removed the wire, I scrapped off the'age patina' and left a few small shiny scratches. There have some wear from over the years but are in very good condition for the age. I believe these date to the 20’s or 30’s. They could probably use a better cleaning. I could only find one break on the end piece of one of the floral ones. Some of the paint is off but I believe that is common with the age of them. Please see the picture. You have the opportunity to own a pair of old cast iron shel f brack ets. The only cleaning that I have done is try to brush off the loose dirt and cobwebs. As I was doing that some of the old wh ite paint fell off and while I handled them to take pictures more of the paint flaked off. So be assure d that if you purch ase them there will be some paint chips in the shipping bo x. There are no repai rs or cracks. Just a lot of character. They are both marked H8. There is still plenty of rust on them. The part that would fit up against a wall is 18-1/2" and the part that would support a shelf board is about 10-1/2" I left some of the hardware on each and did not try to remove the bolts. This is an awesome pair of Antique Iron Brackets made in the late 1800's. They came out of an antique hardware store that was built in 1893. The brackets have the original paint on them which is crackling and chippy. There is surface rust all over each bracket. I have inspected each piece and have found no cracks, welds or damage to the body of each bracket. They are adjustable, each bracket has an extender on it that is held on by 2 screws and nuts. These extenders offer the bracket to hold a shelf or sink from 13 1/2"18" they are very sturdy and can hold a lot of weight.
