We are pleased to offer this exceptional pair of antique nightstands or side tables. This pair dates to around 1940. They are made of mahogany and have been painted white and distressed. The pair are elegant and sleek with a low profile. They feature a two tier design with open backs. They are French styled. Art Deco era, and have elongated lower sections with curved fronts. There have decorative square, raised wood pieces on the skirt of the lower tier. These have been left in the original finish to contrast with the paint. The legs are lovely in Duncan Phyfe style. The center leg column has also been left in the original finish. The table has ornate brass touches as well. There are lion face"door knocker" style pulls on each side between the two tiers. The feet are brass with a claw foot design. The tables are very nice. They ... moreare very sturdy. There are no manufacturer's marks. The pair measure 25.75" tall and 16" wide. RARE PAIR ANTIQUE 1940s DREXEL FRENCH DEMILUNE NIGHSTANDS TABLES pre TOURAINE
We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL and RARE pair of antique. Old vintage(1940s) demilune nightstands/tables by Drexel. This pair is from a rare collection called REVERIA CHERRY. The pair have exquisite lines and ornate, carved details. They are"open" in their design(telephone table design) with a single drawer beneath the open shelf area. They feature a bow front as well as a combination of concave and bow sides. There are carved floral medallions inside recessed areas just below the table tops. Carved shells accent the tops of the beautiful cabriole legs. The feet have large ball/sphere accents. The tables are of the finest quality with solid wood construction. The drawers have dovetail joints instead of staples or nails/screws. The finish is original and is somewhat unique. It is antiqued(glazed) finish which a cream color ... morebase and a golden chocolate brushed over the cream. I could not find any information online regarding these pieces. I called Drexel Heritage and was told that this collection(pre Drexel Heritage) was produced by Drexel in the late 1940s. This collection predates their very popular, Mid Century, Touraine collection. The two collections are somewhat similar but the Reveria collection definitely has a more elegant and authentic French design. These tables/nightstands are quite striking. They are in very good condition with only minor signs of age/use. The finish has some surface scuffs and minor chips which add the aged character of the pieces. This could be resolved easily if you so desired. The tables are quite sturdy and are structurally excellent. The pair measures 28.25" tall. The are 20" wide and 13.5" front to back. The opened shelf area is 8.7/8" tall. 14.5" wide and 12" front to back. The drawers have an interior measurement of 11.25" wide, 1" tall and 12" front to back. Stunning pair of old world carved wooden pedestal columns. Perfect for plants or works of art. The base appears to be mahogany. The column walnut. I can't be sure. They are beautifully carved. Each column is 60" in height. Each round base is 15" in diameter with three round wooden feet measuring 3 1/8" The column narrows from 8" diameter near the base. To 4" at the neck. The coupe shape top surface is 8 1/2" wide. Blemishes are pictured and include a 9 inch unrepaired crack at the base of one of the columns. This same column also has a 2" finish blemish as pictured. Stunning pair antique carved French style tables with inlaid top. They are oval shaped and have a carved back rail. Inlaid tops are in good condition- original painted bases with no damage to carvings. Some minor paint loss on dark part of top rim. Tables measure 27" tall plus 1-1/2" rim by 22" wide and 18-1/2" deep. These were treasured tables passed from grandmother to mother to daughter and were well cared for. However they are antiques and as such do have some minor wear. Sorry they look a bit lopsided in first picture- poor photography. Please check all the pictures. Email with questions. I think they were made in about 1918 to 1923 as there was other furniture from about that period with them at one time. Looks like one or both may have been reinforced or whatever at some point that being beyond 50 years ago. They are plain but unusual and attractive as they are. They are of differing heights but theirsingular uniqueness lends them quite an artisan air. The tallest of the two is 22 1/2" H and 11 1/4"across the platen. And its smaller match is 17 1/2" H and 8 1/2" across. They are of a leather like darker brown color which sets off a rather comfortable contrast with a wood floored sitting room or the like. The interesting thing about these stands/tables is that the chassis holding them together are steel. To work case hardened steel into these vine patterns must have taken some craftsmanship. PAIR of ANTIQUE WOODEN DRUM TABLES from Philippine Islands
This is a pair of antique/vintage drum tables. They come from the Philippine Islands either in the 1950's or very early 1960's. They were purchased there by a soldier stationed there at the time. I am not sure of the wood type. It is a fairly light weight wood as these each weigh about 14 pounds. Each table is about 24" tall by 18" in diameter at the top. They are covered with some type of skin. Both of these need some touch up work done as they have some scratches and other issues as shown. The skins are both solid but have stains and appear to have been colored with something. Overall condition they are solid. The ornate carvings on these are very detailed. Hinges on doors work great. Hall, or sofa. The half moon(also known as demi lune) shape is excellent for narrow spaces. The wood used in their creation is a fine mahogany wood. Having had plenty of time to age, the mahogany on this pair of antique half moon tables has developed the ideal patina. This warm, medium brown color will go well with almost any decorating scheme. The simple Chippendale style includes four square tapered legs that end in spade feet. The back legs are inset away from the corners. This was done so that if the tables were near a narrow walkway, one would not accidentally kick the back legs as they walked past. This pair is in very good condition. They have survived the years with only minor nicks and marks that now serve to provide the tables with character and charm. We have included some close up pictures that show samplings of these marks. Beautiful pair of antique(1920s) Jacobean console tables by Karpen Brothers. The tables are walnut with a dark finish and some beautiful. Medium wood highlights. The tables feature half octagonal shape with turned wood legs. The tables are both marked with the Karpen Brothers metal tag. Both are in original(not refinished) condition. They are very good with some minor surface cosmetic blemishes which are not too severe or distracting and can be resolved if you should chose to do so. There is some minor crazing of the original, urethane finish. The tables are not too heavy but are sturdy. This is a wonderful pair! The pair are somewhat low profile and measure 23.25" tall.
