Vintage Oak School Table or Counter with 24 Drawers Great Kitchen Island Piece Vintage Collectibles:Furniture:School Cabinet/ Counter(click picture for more details& pictures) This great vintage oak cabinet or counter was rescued from from the Central Middle School in Findlay. Ohio prior to the building being demolished. The school was built in 1923, and this cabinet was located in the third floor science lab. It has 24 drawers( 12 on each side) with the original brass numbered labels and locks, as well as the original oak drawer pulls. There are also 2 doors on each side, and the interior space between them runs the width of the cabinet. There is also a long, narrow drawer in one end. The feet have protective cast brass covers that also allow for the cabinet to be screwed to the floor, if necessary. This piece was made by Berger Manufacturing ... moreof Canton, Ohio. Their name and Berloy trademark is on each drawer label. They manufactured all types of fixtures for schools and industrial use, such as file cabinets and shelving. The numbers on the drawers add a somewhat whimsical touch, as they do not run in numerical sequence. This piece could be used in many ways. Not only as a unique kitchen island, but also in a sewing or crafting room. There's lots of room to work and lay things out on the top, and obviously plenty of storage area. For ease in moving, the top can be removed and the drawer section can be removed from the base/ leg section. Three sections are much easier to move than one large piece. Dimensions: Overall length is 6 feet, width is 47 1/2 inches and height is 36 inches. All drawers have an interior width of 9 3/4 inches and an interior height of 5 inches. 14 of the drawers have an interior length of 19 1/2 inches, 2 drawers are 15 inches long and 8 drawers are 16 inches long. The single drawer on the end has interior dimensions of 20 1/2 inches long, 5 3/4 inches wide and 4 inches tall. This piece contains no new parts whatsoever and was constructed using repurposed butcher block and an antique cast iron base salvaged from an old piece of(printing) machinery. The patina is absolutely amazing. This hasn't been made to look aged or distressed. The gentleman who owned this bench would have been over 100 years old, if he were with us today. He was a master craftsman who created many of the hand made clocks and cabinets in their simple home beginning in the early 1930’s, and we could only imagine how many hours he must have spent ... moreworking away at this very bench. This authentic vintage carpenter’s bench bears all of the patina and markings of its age and purpose. You’ll find both deep and superficial cuts, grooves, and wear marks… small paint splatters, a few small burn marks and more… each helping to tell the story of its history. There are two vices at the front of the bench in perfect working order. We found this antique bench to be neat, orderly, and lovingly maintained in the basement workshop of the home. We’ve taken care not to change a thing, simply giving it a linseed oil treatment to bring out its beautiful tone and texture. This is definitely one of the nicest carpenter benches we have come across! Someone took the time to preserve the character of this bench and they did an unbelievable job! It could definitely be used a workbench again. But we are thinking beyond that. With industrial and primitive being two of the hottest decor styles in demand right now. You can have the best of both worlds right here! Do you have extra space in your kitchen? If not you might want to think about knocking down a wall for this one! This would be the most unbelievable kitchen island or sideboard in your dining room! No room there? How about a very unique bar? Do you see the trough along the one side- or should I say drink rail? This bench is not too big and not too small- it comes in at about 75" long by 24" wide by 33 1/2" tall. The length and width measurement are just the main workbench top and not the vises that stick out a little more. Regarding the width you would add about 6 1/2" for the vise and handle for a total of roughly 31 1/2" in that spot. The length including the end vise would be 83 1/2" long the way it is pictured. It does not appear to go in all the way and where it is pictured is as far as it goes. We are not 100% sure if that is how it is supposed to be or if it should be able to go in a little further. It couldn't go much further in though with the nuts sticking out of the side in that same area. It's an antique workbench so it has a lot of wear and tear to give it the character it has. If you are expecting something new and perfectly smooth on top this is not for you. It is impossible to describe every flaw and frankly in our eyes we do not consider them flaws. Structurally. The wood is lighter colored than it appears in the photos. Incredible work of art.steampunk. Industrial desk, loft furniture,work bench, table, machine age, reclaimed wood. Perfect as a sideboard. Kitchen island, desk, workbench, table, bar height table I was given the chance to salvage anything I wanted from a small barn that was going to be demolished. The barn was right here in my home town of Fox River Grove. Illinois. This workbench was one of many treasures I acquired. It was in rough condition when I rescued it. I knew I could restore it to full glory. I think it came out spectacular, however you will be the judge, perhaps it will speak to you like it does to me! This is built like a battleship. The industrial grade frame is fantastic, it reminds me of a steel bridge.with the large rivets and big bolts&nuts.A few of the nuts are missing below the top, it has no effect on strength.there ... moreare so many other bolts&nuts holding the top in place, as I said built like a battleship! The top is 3 1/4 inches thick. Made of a total of 3 layers of wood. Uner the 3/4"thick oak strip top are 2 thick layers of planks, the front and side edges of the piece are covered in pine. I love the incredible patina of all of the wood including stains. Nail& screw holes, oak pegs, pinholes, orange-ish stain area on left side of top, there is even an area on the front left trim where the wood was charred from being burned(it is sealed with varnish and looks great)no doubt a torch was used to repair/weld something.The top has some waviness/wear as you would expect with age, it just adds to the wonderful character. The patina is second to none.patina like this can only be created by years& years of use and hundreds of projects being done on this bench I restored the entire bench by hand. I added some of the solid oak pegs in the top to seal old holes. The entire bench has been hand sealed with varnish. Everything including the underside of the top. The entire metal frame has been sealed, making it easy to wipe clean. the top was sealed with many, many coats of hand rubbe

Vintage Industrial Wood Reclaimed Lista Work Bench Kitchen Island Table
History Recently finished vintage industrial work bench that has been repurposed into a kitchen island. The island started with a vintage Lista Deluxe work bench from an old factory. The legs have been cleaned of paint and clear coated over bare metal. The original Bally butcher block top has been resurfaced and treated with spoon oil but still retains its character while being food safe. Two of the Colson casters are locking, they all feature grease fittings on both the wheel bearing and the swivel raceway. Please let us know if you would like any additional pictures. This Antique Butcher Block Table is the real deal! I believe this antique butcher block table is over 100 years old. Although I really do not know how old it is. There are no markings any where on it. I do know that it was left in my house that was built in 1904. This could have belonged to Henry Rentschler of Hamilton, Ohio. It is in unrestored, unmolested condition. It does have several nicks, chipped wood, and chop marks. The top also appears to be stand with blood. This only adds to the appeal and is part of the antique patina. It appears to still be in the same condition as when it was last used. I have not cleaned it or washed it off, it has a unique spicy aroma that simply adds to its patina. However, I can clean it off prior to pickup or shipping. It will need to be sanded down and restored- very heavy The table stands 34 1/8 inches high not including the back metal lip. Old vintage butcher block table. Homemade this piece came out of a old country store that has been closed for 50 years. It was used as a all purpose table that sat behind the front counter. You're looking at a custom-made. Vintage industrial counter-height cafe table/ kitchen island with gorgeous age. The 2" thick salvaged butcher block top has been cleaned. Sanded, stained in walnut and given 3 applications of polyurethane to seal it. The heavy-duty top shows wonderful character and light wear, marks, dings etc. The 80+ year old cast iron legs came off an old factory machine and are embossed with, D.B. The barn was right here in my home town of Fox River Grove. Illinois. This workbench was one of many treasures I acquired. It was in rough condition when I rescued it. I knew I could restore it to full glory. I think it came out spectacular, however you will be the judge, ... moreperhaps it will speak to you like it does to me! This is built like a battleship. The industrial grade frame is fantastic, it reminds me of a steel bridge.with the large rivets and big bolts&nuts.A few of the nuts are missing below the top, it has no effect on strength.there are so many other bolts&nuts holding the top in place, as I said built like a battleship! The top is 3 1/4 inches thick. Made of a total of 3 layers of wood. Uner the 3/4"thick oak strip top are 2 thick layers of planks, the front and side edges of the piece are covered in pine. I love the incredible patina of all of the wood including stains. Nail& screw holes, oak pegs, pinholes, orange-ish stain area on left side of top, there is even an area on the front left trim where the wood was charred from being burned(it is sealed with varnish and looks great)no doubt a torch was used to repair/weld something.The top has some waviness/wear as you would expect with age, it just adds to the wonderful character. The patina is second to none.patina like this can only be created by years& years of use and hundreds of projects being done on this bench I restored the entire bench by hand. I added some

Up for sale is a Hamilton composing table fresh out of a recently closed printing shop in New York City. Measures 39 1/2" long. 27 1/2" wide and 38" high. Made of solid oak with a marble top insert. The photos do not do this table justice. The business was started by the last owner's grandfather 75 years ago. He remembers this table his whole life. Says to me the table is 75 years old. Has one drawer and two shelves below the top. Top is removable. Easily moved by two people. Table is structurally solid. No wobbles. Built like a tank. Would make a great kitchen island.
