~ Beautiful Antique Tiger Oak 5 Leg Dining Table w/1 Leaf ~ Up for your viewing is an awesome tiger oak dining table that I purchased from an estate auction about a year ago. I actually purchased two tables. One was round(which I already sold) and this one. They both had been stored in I believe an attic, for they were very dusty and dirty due to being stored for many years. This table appears to have quite a few layers of varnish or stain on it and when they stored it I believe they put a vinyl table cloth on it, the kind with the cotton or felt like lining and through the years of heat and the layers of varnish it has on it the lining somewhat stuck to the top of the table. When I went to clean it up the fuzzy stuff would not come off no matter what I did so we thought we would try a spot with some paint stripper and it come off. That is ... morewhy the spot is on the top. My intentions then was to strip it off and restain it but never had the time to do it and hated to see this beautiful table sit around and need the space so I am selling it as it is. As you can see on the spot that we stripped under all the varnish that was on it the grain is beautiful and on the leaf, it is the natural color. This table is on wheels except for the center one is missing. But I should have one somewhere around here that I will put on it if I do. Also there is a piece of wood that is off on one of the legs as shown in the pictures. Other than that it is very nice. Once it is restained or whatever one wants to go about finishing the top it will look awesome. The table measures 42" square x 30" tall without the leaf and 25-1/2" from the ground to the bottom of the table. The leaf is approx. 12" wide. I have provided several pictures to view. Please view them carefully and ask any questions prior to bidding or purchasing. I will be happy to answer them the best I can. Made of quartersewn oak. It's believed to be dating from the early 1900's. This table is original, and has never been refinished. It has one leave. The legs are heavy and carved, and it's been well preserved. The ware is better than normal for a piece of furniture this age. I think it could use some linseed oil, but I've done nothing to it since it's arrival. Selling as pictured, table only, as found. I would be happy to answer any question you have. The gate leg table was designed with 4 stationary legs connected by stretchers and two swing-out or"gate" legs to support the drop leaves on either side of the stationary(middle) panel.The table is 42" wide and 23.5" long with leaves down. The two 18" leaves will lengthen the table to 41.5" one leaf up and one leaf down) and 59.5" with both leaves up. The beautiful cabriole legs are 25" in length. The table is 30" in height. Antique chestnut 5 spiral turned legs drop leaf dining table in very good condition. The table measures 45.5 inches diameter with leaves up. With leaves down 27 wide, stands 27.75. This table shows evidence of being painted at least twice(green, white) and refinished to bare wood with numerous holes and gouges filled. The table still has the extension rails but since there are no leaves the table sides are secured together with metal braces. The original drop leaf supports were replaced with other antique drop leaf supports. The table apron and extension rails are secured to the underside with metal braces.
