No end-to-end rocking: These carts were designed and built to be used in factories. They are solid and strong. But they rock end-to-end. This is actually part of their design. It made them easier to roll over the uneven surfaces of a factory floor. It's a good design for a factory, but bad for a table. So. We fix the rocking by adding an improved set screw to each end-wheel and ship a wrench with the cart so you can adjust the table just the way you want it. Antique Industrial Factory Lumber Railroad Cart Coffee Table Nutting Lineberry
Antique Factory Service Cart You won't find one like this anywhere. But be sure to let me know if you do. This factory service cart. Made by Service Caster and Truck Co. in Albion, MI, was recently removed from Messing Planing Mill in St. Louis. MO. It is fully functional. In original condition and can be used as a cart or small table. This is a smaller but taller style cart and measures 36"L) x 24"W) x 26"H) and weighs a measly 270 lbs. It is in the exact condition that it was when it was removed from the building. Anything that looks white is gypsum that fell from the leaky roof and stuck to the wheels. It will clean up great. The only missing part is one screw for the metal retention piece on the top(and I may have a replacement for it) All castings look to be solid with no repairs. This cart will fit anywhere in your ... morehouse and a pair of them would make great nightstands. The photos look the same. But the cart has been turned around so that you can see both sides. Up for sale is this beautiful antique industrial railroad factory cart with heavy duty cast iron wheels and hardware. This cart has be completely restored- great decor and very functional repurposed as a coffee table. It measures 48" long(53" to metal) by 25 1/2" wide and 15" tall. The distressed wood has lot of character which is all original. The wood was lightly sanded. Stained with Minwax"Cherry" then sealed with two coats of spar urethane. The cast iron wheels and hardware were pressure washed then painted with two coats of rustoleum black. Ask if you have any questions and thank you for looking. This John T Towsley cart was originally manufactured in Cincinnati. Ohio around 1920. I have completely restored this cart using reclaimed Heart Pine from local cotton mill in South Carolina. All original castings have been bead blasted. Painted satin black and sealed with clear coat to protect cast iron. The casting are in perfect condition with no flaws or breaks. Fully restored Lineberry factory cart! Perfect for that industrial/rustic look to be used as coffee tables. These are beautiful pieces and are a wonderful focal point in your living room! In the early 1900's Charles Lineberry started the Lineberry Foundry and Machine Company in North Wilkesboro. North Carolina. Often called railroad carts, these beautiful carts were originally used in railroad depots for transporting trunks, and were later used in furniture factories for moving large pieces from one specialist artisan to the next. As late as the 60's and into the very early 70's the company shipped around 1000 of these carts a week. Each cart is fully disassembled. Cast iron and wood. Cast iron pieces are individually sandblasted. And they are repainted in a flat black paint. Nail are replaced w/ black pyramid head nails. Antique Railroad Industrial Factory Lumber cart/coffee table-Reduced $$$
This is a great looking railroad cart. Often listed as an industrial. Factory, or lumber cart. All the wood is original in a gray weathered color. See pictures for details. This would make an outstanding looking coffee table or patio/outdoor piece of furniture. Depending on your tastes, you could put a piece of glass on the top and leave as is to appreciate the weathered wood and protect from spills, etc or go for a refurbished look. It is very heavy. The cart has been cleaned with water(wood and cast iron) and a wire brush has nicely cleaned up the cast iron wheels, axle, bolts, and corner pieces. There are no cracks in the wheels and the axle is straight. All wood pieces making up the frame are very solid. All the wood is very weathered but surprisingly smooth. There are cracks/chips in the wood(see pictures) but nothing is compromised. ... moreOne of the cast iron corners is cracked(see pictures) but is still bolted solid to the frame. This was made in Indianapolis IN by Tucker& Dorsey Manufacturing. This is all original as it sits. It is missing a few of the boards on the top which could be easily replaced with like color barn wood. I only see that there is 3 of the original carriage bolts and square nuts missing as well. The stenciling on the side is faded out quite a bit but some is still legible.This cart also would make a great restoration project for that perfect coffee table. This is a very nice industrial cart. I just pulled this out of a basement of a old factory building! These make great coffee Tables. Its a hard maple Nutting cart made in Faribault Minn. With 2 cast iron large wheels& 4 cast iron caster wheels which is pretty unusual. The original shipping tag is on it. It was shipped to the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. 228 West Water st. Elmira N.Y. 1907 Antique Industrial Railroad Trolley Factory Cart Cast Iron Coffee Table
This has been untouched since it was made. 1907 and Globe Trucks is embossed in the cast iron. Globe trucks and Vise was a company that started in 1905 in Grand Rapids. Michigan. I purchased in Mississippi and it had came from the Mississippi Delta. One of the middle wheels is missing a portion of the wheel but you can't see that when it is rolled up under the top. Nutting Railroad Cart With Glass& 2 End Tables* Presenting A Very Original Idea With These Railroad Carts* After a couple months of weekend work I am very happy to be presenting this very nice item that will last another 100 plus years. The middle of the table has been cut out and a piece of glass inserted in the middle. The pieces cut out from the middle have been used to make end tables. No waste was produced. I haven't seen this arrangement yet, if you have please let me know and I will remove this sentence. The wood has been sanded as you can see. This has brought out the amazing solid maple wood beneath(not a common phrase when talking about maple. But this is different) Birds eye and iridescent streaks which is absolutely stunning. This maple has character which you do not see these days. The iridescent streak makes this table ... morealmost glow. The matte finish(the lowest possible sheen available) allows the iridescent parts to shine on there own without a glare interfering. Obviously I cannot say enough about the appearance. It's much better in person unfortunately. The person who purchases this will not be disappointed. Everyone who looks at it in person is says its much better than in the pictures. Maybe someday there will HD computer screens on all computers to show what stuff really looks like. Until then, the description and bad pictures will have to do. The end tables are also very nice. Old school desk bases have been converted to be the support of the table tops. These bases are adjustable and at there higher position currently. Only a clear matte finish has been applied to the wood and cast iron. This has done to preserved the beauty of the wood and iron. Again the cast iron has not been striped and painted.
