It has a Dark Reddish Oak Patina to it and I believe the finish is original to the unit. It is 23" wide. 16 3/8" deep at it's feet and 28 1/2" tall overall. It's overall condition is good. Exceptional Oak Open Barley Twist Lamp
Hi.This lamp is about as nice as you can get, it has been carefully converted from a c1800s Oak candlestick,the Open twist is beautifully carved and is very slender and elegant, the original finish is beyond excellent! It has been professionally rewired with new flex and all brasswork correctly earthed.The only downside is the original base cork protector had perished so I have had a new non slip/non scratch mat fitted. There are no breaks in the twists or cracks in the stick. It presents very well and would suit any period living room. I only wish I had the pair. The shade is for display only as the extra cost of shipping would be more than its worth but it is available if you want it. Table has some minor damage, old age crack on top and 2" water stain. One leg has been repaired with screws, hard to notice unless looking for it, Top screw could come out and stainable wood putty could be rubbed in and lightly sanded then stained to hide the screw hole, leg has been wood glued and is very strong. Table is sturdy for it's height, has very little wobble but only do to the how tall it is. Great height for phone table! Table will come apart for shipping, top comes off by 4 screws and the middle barley twist support bar comes out, Could be glued upon assembly if desired. This will save on shipping. Up for sale is a gorgeous rare English serpentine walnut barley twist hall or side table with a"caned" top dating to the turn of the century(c1910-1920) featuring the highly sought after barley twist legs. This unique table has a beautifully grained walnut top accented with curved caned side panels and a caned backsplash. The front and side aprons have a detailed scrolled design with three carved center flowers. The four barley twist legs are joined by four scrolled stretchers with scrolled ends.
