Her we have a 2 nice seest of ANTIQUE VINTAGE ORNATE 2 CAST IRON WALL SHELF SHELVES BRACKETS. I would rate them to be on a(8+/9) used vintage shape. The brackets measure 9 1/2" tall x 7 1/2 across the top. They have an ornate curl on the end where the shelf would rest. I would say a 6" deep shelf would be placed in the area. Each side of the shelf brackets have 4 holes for mounting to the wall and 4 holes to mount the wood shelf you provide. These were commonly used at the turn of the century and seen in Grocery Stores. Description(4) vintage cast iron wall mounted brackets. The vintage cast brackets came out of an old shed where horse harnesses were draped over the rounded cut-outs on the top portion as they would mount. Also. There was other tack hung on the old cast hangers. Absolutely no cracks, breaks, or repairs on the brackets. All solid cast iron. All have three flanged cast iron lips for the wall mount security. If you wold look closely, you can see that the extended arm that carries the load is arched like a bridge for added strength. They x 1/4" x 1/2" oval arched support that connects from the wall mount to the scalloped top supports. They are very well constructed. 3 ANTIQUE CAST IRON WALL BRACKETS/ COAT& HAT HANGERS. ORNATE& OLD! Three nice. Old cast iron brackets. It looks like they could be coat and hat hangers. All the patina/rust is light surface rust, nothing pitting. These could easily be painted to fit any decor. They would extend about 6" from the wall, the smaller hook is about 2 1/2" from the wall.They do show lots of age, one small hanger is bent outward at a small angle. There was wire wrapped around some of the brackets and when I removed the wire, I scrapped off the'age patina' and left a few small shiny scratches. The metal is sound, there are no cracks or repairs. These are quite unique, not sure what the original use was- curtain, shelf, wall or lamp bracket. However, the possibilities now for repurposing are endless. Gorgeous old Art Nouveau cast iron brackets with a touch of bronze to finish. These are appx. medium sized and beautiful with flourishes and fleur de lis Former owner believes these are French. But they do not have any markings. Not as light as images depict. Measurements. As seen in first image with longest side at top: 9.25" deep. 6.5" tall, widest 1 1/8" 2 holes are placed towards back top and at back lower angle. And top forward narrowest end has one hole.
