The condition is good with usage dings and scratches and old paint. You can use it alone or with the block of wood it will come with. If you use it with the block of wood you’ll need to nail or glue the wood in place first and then screw the door stop into that and your mounting surface. If you do it that way you will probably also have to glue the doorstop to the wood ... morefor extra support because it will only have a few threads extending out from the wood to go into your surface. They didn’t use glue and it was secure so you can try it without glue first and use the glue if it isn’t secure enough for you. One last hint don’t try nailing the block without pilot holes drilled first or use the old holes for nailing or you will most likely split the block of wood into two pieces. The doorstop would extend out after mounting about 3 ¼” without using the block of wood. The block is about 1 7/8” x 1 7/8” x 7/8” thick. The doorstops threaded screw is about 1” Free shipping! Oil has been applied but they should have a final cleaning and clear coated or painted for continued protection. Please take a look at the many other antique hardware items I have listed.
