There will be some built in imperfections and castings can vary a little due to being hand cast-grinding-etc. Hand painted so color can vary a little from picture and each other but will be close. You can spray paint any of my iron if you want to change color. If using in a wet location you may want to seal hardware with clear spray sealer so iron does not rust. If the item is unfinished that means there is no paint and no finish or sealer on the iron. Unfinished cast iron will rust if not sealed(you can use clear spray sealer sold at Walmart and etc in paint dept. All items Smoke Free and new just made to look old. It was still in place in the upstairs hallway. But the original sink was missing. It is very clean. In good condition and ready for use. Photo# 1 shows how it was attached to the wall originally. Before we removed it. We assume it's Kohler by the stamp that's on it. But not positive. The stamp on it is"K-500-1" See photos. The bracket weights 3 lbs. 6 oz. All measurements are approximate. 2 Antique/Vintage Ornate Cast Iron? Victorian? Hand Rail Brackets Marked 3 1/2
Here is a set of 2 ornate old hand rail brackets. They have the look and feel of cast iron; however. Because I'm not an expert, I cannot guarantee what they're made of. They both have surface rust and will get your hands dirty when you touch them. Both are marked"3 1/2" on the part that holds the rail. This is much clearer on one versus the other. The"3 1/2" is likely a reference to their size as the bases are 3 1/2 inches long. Both have the same ornate design. They have some wear as well as rust. These are complete, but one has a broken bracket(the spade shaped piece with the screw holes) These were cast in one piece. They extend 4 1/2" out from the bracket. It’s in good solid condition with some old paint along with an aged darkened pitted rusted surface. Originally this would have had a galvanized or copper flashed finish but that is almost completely worn off. All my hooks are left with the authentic aged appearance that comes from many years of the natural weathering of them. The only thing I do ... moreto my hooks is remove some of the old paint and oil them. This was used as wash line tie off. But I’ve found this type also being used in many ways in and around farms and homes from porch swing hooks and plant hangers. The hook would extend out about 2” and its base is about 2 ¼” x 1” Now I’m sure you can find a way to use a good solid strong hook around your home. This has had a wipe down with an oiled rag. Heavy duty and made to hold most anything around the home or farm. Why buy a cheap import when you can own an American antique that will do the job better. Circ. most likely first quarter of last century. Free first class shipping in a padded envelope. lot of 3 vintage old yellow painted farmhouse double hook wall mount coat hat hooks. The two smaller hooks are brass and the larger hook is cast iron. The brass hooks would extend from a wall 2 3/4" and are about 2 1/2" tall. The cast iron hook would extend from a wall 3" and is 3" tall. These hooks are in good vintage condition. There is no rust.
