Dating to around 1910. This lovely quite petite table is constructed of solid oak and has a beautiful tiger grain pattern. It has a warm. Mellow patina to its honey brown colouring. The table features fantastic grain patterns to the top surface. Achieved through the use of oak planks, rather than one piece of timber. It also gives it a more rustic, casual dining feel. It stands on lovely turned and fluted legs and has a substantial shaped stretcher base. The table will comfortably seat 4, or 6 people if smallish chairs are used. The table measures 120cm long. 89cm wide and the table surface is 77cm high. The table is in very good antique condition. Structurally strong and robust. It does have some scratching and bumps to the table surface, but these only add to the charm and character of the piece, and provide that more rustic feel- very chic! As with all quality antique and vintage furniture, age-appropriate wear and character marks should be expected. ~ Beautiful Antique Tiger Oak 5 Leg Dining Table w/1 Leaf ~ Up for your viewing is an awesome tiger oak dining table that I purchased from an estate auction about a year ago. I actually purchased two tables. One was round(which I already sold) and this one. They both had been stored in I believe an attic, for they were very dusty and dirty due to being stored for many years. This table appears to have quite a few layers of varnish or stain on it and when they stored it I believe they put a vinyl table cloth on it, the kind with the cotton or felt like lining and through the years of heat and the layers of varnish it has on it the lining somewhat stuck to the top of the table. When I went to clean it up the fuzzy stuff would not come off no matter what I did so we thought we would try a spot with some paint stripper and it come off. That is ... morewhy the spot is on the top. My intentions then was to strip it off and restain it but never had the time to do it and hated to see this beautiful table sit around and need the space so I am selling it as it is. As you can see on the spot that we stripped under all the varnish that was on it the grain is beautiful and on the leaf, it is the natural color. This table is on wheels except for the center one is missing. But I should have one somewhere around here that I will put on it if I do. Also there is a piece of wood that is off on one of the legs as shown in the pictures. Other than that it is very nice. Once it is restained or whatever one wants to go about finishing the top it will look awesome. The table measures 42" square x 30" tall without the leaf and 25-1/2" from the ground to the bottom of the table. The leaf is approx. 12" wide. I have provided several pictures to view. Please view them carefully and ask any questions prior to bidding or purchasing. I will be happy to answer them the best I can. Authentic Antique 1932'HOOSIER' Tiger Oak Dining Table* This is a genuine Hoosier Tiger Oak dining room table with turned legs. It was made by the Hoosier Kitchen Equipment Company of New Castle. Indiana. It has a hidden extension leaf in the center of the table that is connected to hinges on each side. When the sections are pulled apart, the hidden leaf is exposed. It is then raised and jointed together to each section. Underneath, there is a gear that turns on two tracks with teeth as the sections are moved back and forth with ease. There is a metal stamped plate underneath above the gear area. That patent plate shows that this unique design was created& engineered by the Hoosier Kitchen Equipment Company. First off. We are not furniture dealers. This beautiful antique dining room set has graced our home for over 20 years. Time goes by and we are downsizing, so it's important to us that this set end up with someone who will appreciate its beauty and respect its workmanship as much as we do. We bought this set as a favor to a friend. We do not know how old it is or where it was manufactured. Dealers selling similar pieces on Ebay have used the description Vintage French Country. What we do know is that each piece is very well built. It's all tongue and groove. The only hardware in the whole set are the hinges. Handles and lock mechanisms on the sideboard and the china, and those are all solid brass. We also have two very decorative brass keys that fit all the locks. This set is solid oak with a medium finish. The parquet tops on the ... moresideboard and the dining room table are solid. Not veneer. The set is heavily carved. Each piece has gorgeous detail. The legs of each piece are curved with carved detail. Pictures do not do this set justice. It is large. Bold and just gorgeous. The flaws mentioned are mostly hardly noticeable. We mention the bumps and bruises so that somebody is not expecting a flawless set, however we highly encourage personal inspection of these items to see exactly for yourself. These items are in generally good condition with wear and tear consistent with its age. Recently while selling an antique coffee table we had, a gentleman that has been in the business, mention that this set was probably made between the 1930's and 1950. It can reach a whopping 13 FEET 2 1/2" LONG! I am not clear on exactly how old the table is but would estimate 1880- 1900. The Leaves fit perfectly and work well. The Table is in overall BEAUTIFUL condition with a few table top scratches/ character marks(see photos) certainly to be expected due to age and use but nothing effecting the tables beauty. The Tables 6 Legs rest on rolling casters for ease of movement. They ... moreare easily removable or replaceable. The Table is 30" tall and I estimate(just a guess) it weighs. Including the 6 leaves@ 100- 125 pounds. I would say not all of the leaves are original based on grain pattern but it still looks awesome none the less. The dining table has a rectangular top with rounded ends and 2 pull out extra leaves which store neatly at each end. It has carved detail to the edge of the leaves and striking floral carving to the arpon on all sides, The dining table stands on very large bulbous end columns which have more floral carving and a platfrom type base which is united by a sturdy stretcher. Condition The table is 100% sound. Sturdy and free from woodworm, The top of the table has just been repolished so is in very good overall condition. This is is so beautiful in the Empire style. The large column center post ends in four beautiful curled legs in a square base format. The top is SO nice! This is a 42" round but has two leaves to expand to 66" for dining. Although this was someone's fine dining table in the early 1900's. This also makes an elegant kitchen table, or game table! It is small enough for 2-4 people to sit around nicely but with the leaves you can add up to six people, maybe more. So versatile! Great for a lake cottage or NY city apartment. The finish is just wonderful. This is not a patch job. I see no damage to the table at all and the original sliding hardware ... morelocks tightly with a wood handled latch. The chairs were originally cained but someone has simply added a wood cut seat to each eliminating that whole broken cane issue. These are very sturdy and are marked Wiffmer MIlling& Mfg Co. PA. Signed by the woodworker. Chairs are gorgeous with lion faces on the backs of each! One thing to note is that the leaves are not original to the table. They are cut to size and refinished to match closely(slightly darker due to being from another table) but they are not exact. They match very well. They have dowels to lock into the circle shape. Lastly. The table has for nice wheels on the bottom that are removable but they allow your to roll the table wherever you want it. This table measures 42" round and extends to 66" with two leaves. It is 30" tall. The chairs are 39" tall x 20" wide x 19" deep. This is such an easy set to move around. The top come off and the base will fit through any door. You can transport this in an SUV.
