C. 1750-70 Primary Woods: Cherry Secondary Woods: Yellow Pine Item# 100005WPP31 This is a remarkably well preserved original Queen Anne drop leaf dining table with gating legs over pad feet. It features solid tight grained entirely solid single planks of cherry making up the leaves and top. Each with warm patina and character brought to the forefront in a dry lightly glossy and rather early finish. Notwithstanding the significant cracks in the top and the slight warp to one leaf, the table is almost entirely original. These surfaces were repaired at one point, probably in the first quarter of the 20th century, an attempt to heal the shrink cracks along the grains of the very broad boards. To bring the best ... moreout of the table, these should eventually have the putty removed from the cracks and be repaired again properly; however, the boards are gorgeous and are full of glow even without being repaired. The leaves hang on fully original hand crafted and forged iron hinges. Each still in place and undisturbed, heavily oxidized with original hand forged screws. The frame is a fully dovetailed pine secondary structure with wonderful oxidization throughout. The gating legs join the frame with original hand forged iron hinges that uniquely swing the legs in a smooth motion- this is a rather rare feature, as legs typically would swing on a pine hinge with a wooden or iron dowel joint. The legs terminate in bold and well carved pad feet, each with excellent form. With wonderful proportions being only 40 1/4" long. This is the perfect length for a hall table in rested form with a chair on either side. In remarkably well preserved condition, the legs mostly free of repairs, an early finish and entirely original hardware, this is an excellent find for any serious collector of works from the Queen Anne period. I actually purchased two tables. One was round(which I already sold) and this one. They both had been stored in I believe an attic, for they were very dusty and dirty due to being stored for many years. This table appears to have quite a few layers of varnish or stain on it and when they stored it I believe they put a vinyl table cloth on it, the kind with the cotton or felt like lining and through the years of heat and the layers of varnish it has on it the lining somewhat stuck to the top of the table. When I went to clean it up the fuzzy stuff would not come off no matter what I did so we thought we would try a spot with some paint stripper and it come off. That is ... morewhy the spot is on the top. My intentions then was to strip it off and restain it but never had the time to do it and hated to see this beautiful table sit around and need the space so I am selling it as it is. As you can see on the spot that we stripped under all the varnish that was on it the grain is beautiful and on the leaf, it is the natural color. This table is on wheels except for the center one is missing. But I should have one somewhere around here that I will put on it if I do. Also there is a piece of wood that is off on one of the legs as shown in the pictures. Other than that it is very nice. Once it is restained or whatever one wants to go about finishing the top it will look awesome. The table measures 42" square x 30" tall without the leaf and 25-1/2" from the ground to the bottom of the table. The leaf is approx. 12" wide. I have provided several pictures to view. Selling this lovely salesman sample gate leg or drop leaf table. It is mahogany in 18th Century Traditional style. The legs have spade feet. It is 24 inches high. With both leaves opened the table is 26 inches by 22 1/2 inches, with both leaves dropped 7 1/2 inches by 22 1/2 inches. I has banding on the table top edge and the legs just below the table skirt. It's just a very small& petite"tea table" that made it's way out of England. It's small. Super cute and has been around for a long, long time. Most of this type and size of table was used at"tea time" in England. They would be set up for"tes& crumpets" then taken down and set aside until needed again. because of it's small& petite size, it could go in any room of your home. It could be used as an end table, side table or window table. It's a neat item that would add interest& charm to any room in your home. It has a dark reddish mahogany patina to it. Nice Vintage 40-50's Duncan Phyfe Style Drop Leaf Table with One Leaf. This table has a Maple finish which is a little rare as these tables are usually stained Mahogany. Vintage white with red trim enamel porcelain top kitchen table with chrome hairpin legs and utensil drawer. 1940's kitchen table that is very sturdy& heavy. Looks like someone painted the non-enamel/chrome part at one time. Legs have light surface rust. I looked carefully at the table top and all four corners have places that are chipped. The tabletop has chipped places on the left and right corners of the white part of the tabletop in the front. Looks like the left front of the wooden part of the table had some moisture damage at one time. There is a an approximately 3" crack in the surface wood on the left front of the table bottom. Cushman Maple Salesman Sample / Child's Fold Out Leaf Tea Party Dining Table Old
Here. We have a Beautiful Vintage Cushman Maple Child's Fold Out Leaf Table. I do not know the exact age of this cute little table but I do know your child will LOVE IT! I'm pretty sure it is made out of Maple but the company(1892-1964) started using Yellow Birch instead of Maple Wood in the 1950's. Whatever wood was used, it's adorable and just right for your antique decor. Both leafs fold out all the way and the slides under the table slide out to hold the leafs up or slide back in to let them down. Everything works perfectly and although it has a couple of nicks here and there, it seems very sturdy and useful. The hinges are recessed and nice and tight and the legs are tight as well, no wobbling. With the leafs folded out, it measures 28 1/2" long x 18" wide x 17 1/4" tall. For consideration is a solid mahogany antique drop-leaf dining room set in the Duncan Phyfe style. Has 2 pedestals and four chairs. The table has the original Watertown slide mechanism. And was made by Extensole out of Sparta, Michigan. Entirely original, including the brass claw cap feet on pedestals. There are two leaves for this table, making it a 77 inch by 40 inch at its largest(w/the leaves) and 24 x 40 when the leaves are out and sides are dropped. 53 inches with just the 2 sides up. I have easily had 8 place settings when the leaves are in. The four chairs are also solid mahogany. And the pads have a red and green herringbone fabric on them, but they could be popped out and updated with whatever fabric is more appealing to you. Vintage Northwest Chair Company 1900-1950's Oval Maple Drop Leaf Folding Table Details Label on bottom says Northwest Chair Co. Tacoma Wash. ~ I did some research and it appears they operated out of Tacoma Washington from about 1900 to 1950. Their furniture is considered to be pretty high quality according to various comments on antique blogs, I believe this piece was first acquired by the family in the 1940's so I am guessing that's the approximate circa but it could be older as we had many other maple pieces dating back to the turn of the century. Height from floor to top of table is about 25-1/4" Long side of oval top is about 30-1/4" Short side of oval top is about 26" With one leaf dropped the table top area is about 30-1/4" long x 21-1/2" wide With both leaves dropped the table top area is about ... more30-1/4" long x 12-1/2" wide There are minor scratches and scuffs on the tabletop and various places around the support spindles and framing. Most appears superficial and could be refinished. There is crack on the inner table top skirt in one corner. It appears cosmetic not structural and is hidden beneath the table so can't be seen. This crack does not go all the way through the skirt and appears to be a shallow surface crack or grain separation. Otherwise the skirt is rock solid with no movement or looseness as a result of this minor wood split. S ee pics with arrow pointing to issue. Also there are some small chips in one of the spindle ends where it contacts the floor S ee pics with arrow pointing to issue. and the metal floor glides have some rust. These could probably be polished or replaced with nylon glides if you have hard floors. If you like restoring antique furniture then this would make a great project. Some of the work is already done because it is somewhat dismantled. The only things missing are the two pieces that hold up the leaves when they are in position but that should be relatively easy to make. It looks as though there is one coat of paint on this. The multi-colored top must have been used for a work bench at one time. There are no drill holes or saw cut marks on the top. For easier and less cost on shipping I will leave it the way it is. I may try and remove the leaves which are attached with 3 hinges each. The measurments are 41" with the leaves extended and 36" wide. Without the leaves extended it is 20" x 36" The height will be 30 1/4" when the legs are attached. Local pickup is available.
