Pedestal, some feet) c. 1825 and significantly rebuilt in the 20th Century Item# 12001078208 This is a beautiful decorative work. Crafted using old parts to lend originality and age to the table as it was crafted for a second time during the 20th Century. It features a broad solid black and gray marble top, resting over a new mahogany veneered top with pine plywood secondary woods, attaching to the head of the base with screws from beneath. The pedestal itself appears to be of the period, probably c. 1825, a wonderful gesso decorated and gilt highlighted work of art that is wrapped in a bulbous leafed palmetto formation over a ring turned base. This tenons into the triangular Lion Footed mahogany ... moreveneered base. Most of the feet are rebuilt, though after one original foot to maintain the integrity of the design. While this is not a collector quality work. This is an affordable work with significant character and age throughout. An original Gueridon of this style would be prohibitively priced, making this the perfect selection of a decorator with a budget looking for the depth of an original without the cost. Measurements: 36" wide x 29 1/4" high Condition Report: 1. Severely distressed gilt with exposed and damaged gesso on pedestal. 2. Numerous chips to marble top around the edge(all photographed in the slideshow) 3. Composed of old parts. Meaning portions of this table were originally a period Gueridon table, probably damaged significantly which led to it being overhauled: Round top is not original. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique side/accent table. Circa 1930s-1940s, this table is a fantastic example of French Art Deco with some obvious Louis XIV or Empire influences. The table base is gilded iron and combines sleek lines with ornate details. The table has 4 double curved legs that attach to a circular cross piece. The legs have small spherical finials at the ends. The top of the table base is adorned with gorgeous curved iron. A gilded tole drapery and swag pattern is present around the entire upper circumference. Large, dimensional rosettes, also in gilded tole, are attached as accents. The table top is a gorgeous stone(marble/quartz/granite) in a grayish taupe color. It has a soft pattern and is not"busy" The top is marked on the bottom with a large center character and with"W. Port France" printed ... moreon the underside as well. I do not know if the top is original to the base. The base has an inner lip which may have been home to a piece of glass at one time. As it is, the stone sits independently on top of the base. Regardless, this is a stunning table. It is in wonderful condition with very little evidence of age or use. There are some small faded areas to the gilded finish, but these are very minor and do not distract from the piece. The stone is quite heavy. The table, though open in design, has a substantial feel and also has weight to it. It is very sturdy. The piece measures as follows: The marble top is 22" in diameter and is approximately.75" thick. The table base is 24.5" tall without the stone top. It is 20.1/8 wide at the exterior top measurement and is 19.7/8" in diameter at the bottom. With the stone attached. The table is 25.5" tall. The stamp on the bottom reads: Made in France" It is not antique I believe but has good age perhaps fifty years or more. The table is made of wood. Metal and marble. The wood has a dark walnut finish with an antique gold accent on the stem. The marble top has a salmon and brown finish. We are pleased to offer this beautiful pair of Mid Century side/end tables. These wonderful tables feature French. Louis XV style. They are have square tops with octagon skirts. The skirts are adorned with ornate appliques. The tables have a low profile height with tapered pedestals and curved bases. They are very nicely constructed of solid wood with a medium walnut/pecan stain. The pair feature white, Italian marble tops with dark veins. The tables are quite striking with classic character. Very beautiful. Mid Century reproduction of the antique William Kent, Georgian, or French Empire, Federal Eagle console or entry table. This amazing table features realistic features and exquisite detailing in a deep relief which replicates hand carving. The table consists of a large eagle with outstetched wings resting on a raised plinth. The eagle has deep patterning and realistic details all in a beautiful gilded finish. The fabulous marble top is black with beautiful white veins. It is mounted on a gorgeous carved frieze with carved, curved details and finished with an egg and dart pattern. The table is probably Italian made. The previous owners lived in Italy for many years and their children indicated that they had it shipped from Italy when they moved. It is in extraordinary condition and looks practically new. There is one small section ... moreof what appears to be a repair on one corner of the marble top. This could be restored to the attractive decorative work it once was- already heavily rebuilt many decades ago using old parts to lend originality and age to the table as it was"reimagined" for a second time during the 20th Century, the table has a rough and attractive appeal that would be lively if you have the skill to regild/inpaint the gesso, repair the veneer dings/chips and strengthen the central pillar with some blocking. It features a broad solid black and gray marble top(chipped edges) Resting over a new mahogany veneered top with pine plywood secondary woods, ... moreattaching to the head of the base with screws from beneath. The pedestal itself appears to be of the period, probably c. 1825, a wonderful gesso decorated and gilt highlighted work of art that is wrapped in a bulbous leafed palmetto formation over a ring turned base. This tenons into the triangular Lion Footed mahogany veneered base. Most of the feet are rebuilt, though after one original foot to maintain the integrity of the design. This is an affordable piece for anyone who wants to bring the style of the French Empire into their home without paying high four figures for a more original example. Measurements: 36" wide x 29 1/4" high Condition Report: Severely distressed gilt with exposed and damaged gesso on pedestal. A lovely 1940's French style marble top table made by The Danby Company. The Danby Company was"once a very well known and reputable furniture manufacturer known for their Period English and French Styles with a showroom in NYC on East 47th Street" I thank Antiques on Old Plank Road for the company's history. The table is constructed of solid fruit-wood. There is a lower level shelf that comes in handy for display or storage. There are two water marks on this lower shelf. This is a very unusual gilt coffee table with a marble top made in France. It sits on 4 lion paw feet with a heavy thick stretcher to the base for support and has carved crests to the top.
