French Empire Style Antique Classical Gilt Marble Top Gueridon Round Hall Table
Click for a slideshow of detailed pictures! French Empire Style Gilt& Gesso Decorated Marble Top Gueridon Hall Table Composed of Period Parts(base. Pedestal, some feet) c. 1825 and significantly rebuilt in the 20th Century Item# 12001078208 This is a beautiful decorative work. Crafted using old parts to lend originality and age to the table as it was crafted for a second time during the 20th Century. It features a broad solid black and gray marble top, resting over a new mahogany veneered top with pine plywood secondary woods, attaching to the head of the base with screws from beneath. The pedestal itself appears to be of the period, probably c. 1825, a wonderful gesso decorated and gilt highlighted work of art that is wrapped in a bulbous leafed palmetto formation over a ring turned base. This tenons into the triangular Lion Footed mahogany ... moreveneered base. Most of the feet are rebuilt, though after one original foot to maintain the integrity of the design. While this is not a collector quality work. This is an affordable work with significant character and age throughout. An original Gueridon of this style would be prohibitively priced, making this the perfect selection of a decorator with a budget looking for the depth of an original without the cost. Measurements: 36" wide x 29 1/4" high Condition Report: 1. Severely distressed gilt with exposed and damaged gesso on pedestal. 2. Numerous chips to marble top around the edge(all photographed in the slideshow) 3. Composed of old parts. Meaning portions of this table were originally a period Gueridon table, probably damaged significantly which led to it being overhauled: Round top is not original. Antique Empire Marble & Brass Living Room Table Set, Coffee & End Tables
Please read shipping details before purchasing! Circa 1940's. This amazing living room set is the quintessential hollywood regency decor for any vintage inspired home. The three piece set is in amazingly EXCELLENT condition! Each piece features a three legged empire design. Pillared on a black wooden base the legs of each piece are made of black metal and brass. The tables are made of wood with removable genuine Italian Carrara marble tops. The largest piece of marble is signed. I didn't check for a stamp on the underside of the marble on the end tables. But the set is all original matching marble) The edges of the tables have a brass trim. The lamps are removable as well and both are in working condition(see photo below of lights on) with their original wiring and cords(see photo below) To hook up the lamps you twist two wires together ... moreto make the electrical connection. ANTIQUE FRENCH EMPIRE MAHOGANY BRONZE BRASS MOUNT GUERIDON MARBLE FIGURAL TABLE
We are pleased to offer this exceptionally beautiful and detailed antique(1920s) French Empire, Gueridon style table. The table features solid wood construction with mahogany veneer. The original gilt(ormolu) brass or bronze mounts are abundant. They are fashioned in acanthus or laurel leaf swags around the bottom of the table. The mounts featured on the table skirt section have faces incorporated in their centers. There are also floral medallion mounts for accent. The table top is beautiful and is green malachite marble with interesting veining and a beveled edge. The table has 4 legs. Each leg features an Egyptian character. The faces/busts are bronze or brass as are the feet. Their bodies consist completely of the marble which is a rare find in these tables. The table stretcher connects the legs and features mahogany with a marble centerpiece ... moreand bronze/brass acorn finial. This is a fabulous table with exquisite detail and design. It is in exceptional condition for its age(very early 20th century) As is common with these pieces, there is some minor chipping of the veneer around the base of the table. There is one area of wood on the stretcher that has a small crack which has been resolved at some point and there is a small bubble of the veneer on the table skirt. These issues are resolvable and do not take away or distract from this beautiful table. The marble top has a couple of scratches, again, not major and not distracting. Overall, the table is in very good condition. There are no missing bronze mounts. The table is quite sturdy. There is VERY slight movement in the legs due to the construction. Each leg is doweled into the table top and base. They do not remove. The marble top is also fixed and does not remove. I do not know if this was in the original design or if a previous owner fixed the marble to the table. This is a rare table and a treasured piece. The table measures 29" tall. If you want cool furniture in your house unlike anything people are going to see in the stores. These two couches were found and then re-upholstered for use in our living room. We acquired them 12 years ago. Clean and nice. Very comfortable. We believe these are about 100 years old. The end of the couches can be lowered to form some sort of a victorian day bed. Its not how we used them but that was the original design. For us it was just two nice couches. This is pick up only in the Chicago Suburb of Oak Park. We have had other furniture items sold this way where the buyers simply had a mover of their choice pick it up and bring it to them. There are many services that do that.

Absolutely stunning. Petite, console table. The table is French Art Deco or Empire in design and features walnut construction with a black paint and parcel gilt finish. The black paint is"rubbed" and the underlying walnut wood is exposed in several areas. There is a polyurethane protective coat over the paint. The front leg is a hand carved swan with nice detail. A splendid double pedestal base with double urn shaped pedestals has carved lion paw feet. Mahogany with matched flame grain has a superb satiny finish on this American made antique furniture. Three 10" wide leaves have matching skirts or aprons. Measurements are 42" wide. 30" tall, legroom is 26" underneath and length when closed is 6' 6" and with all three leaves in place, length is 8' overall.
