They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. From the"How to care for SIMMONS FURNITURE guide" SIMMONS FURNITURE protected and enhanced with Du Pont satin-finished HI-BAKE DULUX. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. DULUX is an exceptionally hard finish with excellent moisture resistance that protects against rust or corrosion. With proper care. SIMMONS furniture remains beautifully new for years. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. The second drawer down has only a small amount of rust showing, and the bottom drawer shows no rust. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. If you need larger pics, or perhaps a different view, contact me and I'll send you the requested pics asap. The footstool's fabric is intact- no rips. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. Someone removed what appears to be shipping tape- and that managed to remove some of the color in a small area which is more noticeable in the pictures than in person. Mid Century Danish Modern Teak Wood Secretary Desk Dresser Vanity Chest Denmark?
Rare Retro Danish Teak Wood Writing Desk With a Lift up Vanity Mirror Section From a local estate sale is this wonderful Teak Wood Desk. It can be used as a writing desk or a make-up vanity. It has three small pull out drawers on the inside with the middle drawer having a lift up mirror and there are three larger drawers below the desk area. The inside of the desk also has a couple of cubby shelves. If you look below the second shelf you can see someone has cut a small hole to pass cords through. I could not find any markers markings but I am guessing from other items in the house of this estate sale it is Danish and probably from the 60's or 70’s. It is of smaller proportions making it ideal for a smaller room. The approx. measurements are: 3’ 6½” tall/ 2’ 11” across the front and is 1’ 5¼” wide. CHAIR ~Vanity table measures 34 inches wide. 20 inches deep and 30 inches tall from the floor ~Vanity table has 2 original solid brass teardrop drawer pulls recessed within saucer shaped cups ~The drawer works perfectly. Pull out smoothly, and close tightly. ~There is an original Counterpoint by Drexel tag inside the drawer. ~See spots and imperfections in pictures on table top. The surface is smooth to the touch so these marks may be able to be rubbed out with furniture polish. It just depends the way the light hits if you can see. Or what spots you can see. In some light, the spots are barely visible. This is a poignant Danish Modern vanity from the 1960s. The vanity is fashioned from a mixture of solid teak and teak veneer with a lovely honey-amber finish to the wood. The vanity has a unique flip-top. Making it perfectly serviceable as a modern day desk. The vanity opens to reveal a large rectangular mirror. A recessed back compartment for taller items, it features an electric outlet inside with a cord that leads thru the back with a plug on the end. A recessed channel across the front for smaller belongings. There is a removable tray made from solid teak with four dividers and a green felt lining. It seamlessly rests inside the front channel and slides back and forth for easy convenience. The piece has a simple teak header across the front with ample room for a standard size chair or stool.
